We're on a well and needed to install a water right sanitizer to address iron and manganese and high turbidity that was staining our appliances and a bit unpleasant to taste. JP&P installed our system in August and it's been working wonderfully and they continue to be a helpful service provider. Dante and his assistant did a great job tailoring the system to our needs. On the day they were punctual, communicative, knowledgeable, pleasant and answered all my new home/ well owner question without making me feel like a nuisance. Their office staff is always lovely to interact with and they always respond promptly. Their prices were reasonable. They had to service the unit over the winter because a chunk of salt got stuck in the junction (rare but it happens) and they came out and fixed it right away! called John's for a bid after dealing with roto router on a clogged toilet. their bid was significantly less for the very same replacement and installation. in the meantime, I had a medical emergency, moving to restorative care. even not being home, they replaced the toilet. all communication was satisfactory between me and the office or the installers. Hello everyone, -After a company which will be called "Company A" failed to show up for a booking on Monday that was scheduled on Saturday, I quickly searched for alternatives and found John's. I contacted them at 8 am and secured a booking for the same day from 12 pm to 4 pm. However, at 3:30 pm, I contacted them again as I had not received any updates, and the admin staff informed you that the window was actually from 12 pm to 5 pm. Fortunately, this did not affect me since I am working from home, but it could have been a significant inconvenience for someone who was not working from home or had different work hours. -During the process of chatting with admin staff, I have yet to get an estimate of any sort. I plan to chat with technician regarding the costs of the service given they have to take a look at scenario and go from there. -Technician called at 4:03pm to let me know he would be here in 20mins time roughly. They arrived as they predicted. Not a long wait time from their heads up -Cost for "rooting out" gunk and stuff that caused stoppage was quoted at $365 plus tax totalling out to ~$411. -Total time that they spent working was quick, and efficient. Now assuming that I was a last minute appointment which I definitely was, cost from them compared to "Company A", John's was a bit pricier but I paid for the convenience of having them come by expeditiously. All in I expected this price tag for the rooting job for my clogged drain given the timeframe i expected results in. I definitely will use them or their affiliates for issues that need immediate servicing, but for longer term projects or issues I will shop around to find a better price. That leaves it at if you have time there may be a cheaper option out there, but if you need results expeditiously I definitely recommend them. Given I did not shop around I can not say there are cheaper options, but I can say I am a satisfied customer. read more

On April 2, 2024, John's Plumbing and Pump visited our residence to assess an issue with a pump house that serves our residence and that of our neighbor. The pump and the facilities are located on our neighbor's property, and are covered by a two-party well easement. A technician named Dante visited the site and performed an evaluation. We were charged $317.32 for the visit and told that a portion of the cost would be put towards the repair if we hired John's. On the same day I received two quotes. I called back soon after and scheduled the repair for the following week, also asking that someone from the business call me back before the scheduled date to clear up why there were two quotes for the work. At the end of the week, having not received a call back, I called and asked that Dante get in touch to clear up why there were multiple quotes. At the end of the week I had not received a call back, so I called again and asked that the work be postponed until Dante called to clear up the confusion. I did receive a call back soon after but was unable to take the call at the time. When I called back, the voicemail was full. I called once again early the next week, and reached Jenna at the front desk. I let her know that Dante had not yet reached me. Jenna in turn informed me that Dante had in fact reached out, but I had not picked up the call. The tone that Jenna took was short, and indicated that the breakdown in communication was my fault for not taking the call. I let Jenna know that the voicemail was full. Jenna promised that Dante would call back soon. On April 30, having not received a call back, I called once more. Aaron Stevens picked up the call and we had an initially pleasant conversation about the issues with the well, and he promised to send a revised quote. When I brought up the issue of the voicemail and the tone taken by the Jenna, Aaron began to express frustration and informed me that his company did not wish to perform the work. Before I could respond, Aaron terminated the call (i.e., he hung up on me). Reading through the reviews for this business on the Internet, I get the impression that people are either really pleased with the company, or really disappointed. I do see a pattern, though. This is a business that like's compliant customers who do what they are told and pay the money with no questions asked. If we were rich, that would be fine. But we are not. If you have plenty of money and lot's of time to waste, then this business is for you. If not, and you prefer to stand up for yourself and protect your funds, be prepared to have a bad relationship with this business. read more

Not only did they break a toilet seat and not say anything but after repiping underneath our home, there were four leaks the very next day... three underneath the house and one under the kitchen sink. The lead plumber that worked under the house said he had a problem with his pipe crimper. The plumber who worked under the sink was cussing, grunting, (he was the one that broke the toilet seat), and he did a terrible job placing the sink pipes in the middle of the sink storage. I had to have that part redone by another company (2 Old Guys, who were fabulous)! They did eventually repair the leaks they made and replaced the toilet seat but wanted to charge to come back a make sure there were no more leaks and refused to refund even the slightest discount. Absolutely ridiculous and now I worry that there will be more leaks under our newly wrapped pipes and new water barrier. read more

They even got a tarp and put it over our well house to secure it until I got back! My friend needed maintenance on his electric water heater so he made an appointment with John's Plumbing in Lacey, WA, which was set for between 9am to noon. He man didn't show up until 2:30pm. The water had been barely tepid so we thought there may have been an element issue. The person who showed up charged a non-refundable $50 then looked at some wires & turned up the thermostat. Our fault for not turning up the thermostat ourselves but he charged $300 for the 'service' which amounted to essentially nothing. My friend is on a somewhat limited budget and on the verge of going into assisted living. I wasn't there when he paid the man, but it seems a bit much to charge $300 to turn up the thermostat! I feel the company took advantage of my friend. People I know will be told not to use John's Plumbing. read more

I want to say how outstanding this company is. My 91 year old mother had a problem with her water pipes and they came right out. Got her all fixed up within a day of her calling. Evidently a mouse had chewed right through one. She was so happy and couldn't say enough about how nice the young man was that came. I recently replaced my dishwasher. Everything was ready to go. A simple hook up. They charged me a travel fee of 39.00 (3 miles distance) and a 4% fee for using a credit card. Total cost of installation was 493.00. So I checked to see what other plumbers and companies were charging(Home Depot, mcKenny's, Lowe's). They were charging $175.00-$225.00. I didn't do my research so it's on me but I want to let others know so they didn't make the same mistake. read more

This is the best experience I've ever had calling someone to fix something at my house. Our tables shot water heater quit working. Stupidly, we didn't service it properly. I called John's and they sent someone out the next day. The woman on the phone was very helpful and even apologetic that they couldn't get out sooner. She asked pertinent questions to help anticipate our needs. The servicemen who came out were knowledgeable, clean and polite. They got it going and explained our options. We decided to replace it. They tested our well water and recommended a filter to help keep sediment out of the unit. We're now considering a filtration/treatment system for our whole house. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!! ONE STAR IS TOO MANY!!!!! Use John's plumbing at your own risk. We certainly never will again since the expertise we were told we were paying for failed. We again have no water...unbelievable. This company came out TWICE and billed me TWICE for the one reason they were called out to begin with!! We called and initially were happy they were able to come out same day. I was told there would be a trip fee of $68.00 for them to come out as well as a diagnostic fee of $225 that would go towards my parts and labor if they had to repair or replace components to our system. Great, I understand----- come on out and get the water flowing!!!! They came out, he switched a lever... water came back on. Tech Matt said it was probably a power surge and that if it happened again...showed me how to flip the little metal lever on the pressure regulator box. I paid my $315 dollar invoice for the travel fee and diagnostics and as he waved goodbye said to call back if I have any issues and that if it did turn back off the next step would be to replace the box. We were happy the water was flowing and $315 dollars was steep to flip a lever...but Ok. Later that same day the water kept shutting off and we had to call them back out. We were scheduled for the following Monday. We told them to go ahead and replace the switch since Tech Matt said that was the next step. Later that day we received another bill just over $400 to include another trip fee of $68 for replacing the switch. Wait a minute???? I called them right away and chatted with a gal and asked why the diagnostic charge did not go against my parts and labor like I was told it would. She said she was going to have to talk to the owners and get back to me. They called us back a week later and explained they had talked to the tech and because it was not the same day and we told them to go ahead and switch out the part....the billing was the billing. We were told we were paying for their experience and expertise. I filled the guy in on the reason they had to go back out again and that they could not properly diagnose in one day with the time the tech spent on the system since he did not check anything after he flipped the switch. He told me he would get back to me. A week went by and I was forwarded a slightly less bill for $367.95 for parts and labor w/ a trip fee. *****Actual part replaced ---less than $50. When the invoice came in, I immediately called them and asked to talk an owner or manager. The gal who answered knew who I was and started to pull up the file and said she could not hear me and that I was cutting in and out. I told her I would call her right back after I exited the building I was in. Now in 5g with full bars... I called back and she said she called back the other number on the file ( My husband) and that he paid the bill. WHAT??????? Of course I asked why she would take payment and she said she still could not hear me and hung up. I called back 10 times and they would not answer my call nor have return my emails. WOW!!!!!!!! MIND BLOWN. I had to call another company out to fix what their expertise could not. KICK ROCKS JP! read more

We faced a costly leak between the water meter and the house. We received quotes from plumbers on trenching as well as directional boring. We chose directional boring as the solution. John's pricing was competitive, but ultimately we chose them because of their professionalism. Chris assessed the issue, and wrote up a proposal on the spot (no, they didn't charge me for the quote). After reviewing my options, I called them back a couple weeks later, and we agreed to a final price and schedule. It was a no-pressure situation, and it was all handled very fairly. The directional boring machine arrived on schedule, and Chris managed the situation. The job went smoothly, and was completed same day. The people I worked with at John's communicated very well, and know what they're doing. I plan to use them in the future should the need arise. read more

First, I wanted to say that everyone that I interacted with was very polite and professional. Here's my experience: I called on Monday because of an active leak in my house. They were able to schedule me for Friday with the likelihood of something before then. Great. On Wednesday, I called to let them know that I think I found the source of the leak. No problem. On Friday, I called in the early afternoon to try to get an ETA. Unfortunately, I found out that they had accidentally scheduled me for 2 weeks later, admitting that there was a 'computer error' in the scheduling process and promised to try to get someone out to my house ASAP. The earliest was the following Tuesday. By the time they came, I was fairly certain that the leak was just outside the foundation of my house. On inspection, they didn't think that was the case and thought that it was in one of the walls in my house and would require accessing that wall with repair. The plumber wasn't certain and wanted to get someone else to come out the following day. That next morning, I went out with my shovel and dug out the pipe I though might be leaking, found the leak, and exposed it for repair. They arrived later that afternoon, agreed that that was the leak and replaced the 6" area with copper and a valve, then charged me $850. Took under an hour (I even had the water turned off for them). I then went to Home Depot bought a cover to go over the valve and filled in the hole myself that I had dug in the first place. read more

Now it's been two months and I'm not getting my calls returned. It's always good to get multiple bids on a job and that's what I'm trying to do. But two months without any action sure makes me want to give the job to someone who knows how to communicate. If you don't want the work, at least have the courtesy to let me know you are taking a pass on the project. read more

We hired these guys to install a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal that we provided, and as expected the workmanship of the installation seems good. What we didn't expect was for them to charge us $300 AN HOUR for labor. Then on top of that they charged $39 for the trip, $17 to pay with a card, and then another $58 for we don't even know what. When we called them about this crazy pricing they weren't particularly nice about it either. 1/5 stars. read more

My wife and I had a main water break in our front yard. We called John's Plumbing and Pumps. They were very professional on the phone, and they communicated well with us. So why the low marks? I had NO CLUE how much it costs to replace a water main from meter to house - in our case was only 70 feet. We elected to use the trenchless drilling which is expensive. But we paid $6300 for SEVENTY F*ING feet! Every single person we spoke with, including those who have had similar things done were shocked at the amt. They NICKLE AND DIME you on every little thing. They even charge you gas to come out - $40!! The initial call just for inspection was $250. They waive that they said if you hire them. We hired them. Unexpectedly, we had to pay an additional 2.5% for using our credit card!! Who does that . . . with an already OVERLY expensive charge for a few hrs work and seventy feet, straight shot to house? They removed the amt of initial call off our bill, as agreed. But a week later they called and said we owe that money back, because the initial call fee never went through their system as expected. So had another $250 to pay after we thought all was done! The two men doing the job were very kind and helpful. When finishing the job, the senior guy accidently broke the city water line going to our meter. So, our neighbors were without water - and four emergency city of Lacey trucks had to come out and dig 6 feet under our landscaping and repair all the work and put new meters in. All in all John's Plumbing did a great job. And their staff is knowledgeable. BUT YOU WILL PAY OUT THE NOSE - MAKE NO MISTAKE!!! CHECK AROUND FOR BETTER DEAL!!!!!! DON'T GET NICKLE AND DIMED. You might as well call Comcast if you wanna deal with poor follow up and service. I scheduled a same day appointment due to having no water and was told someone would be out between 12-5. I was told someone call me and tell me when they were on the way. 7pm comes around and still no call from anyone not even a representative saying they couldn't make it out. I get a call from the office lady the next day and all she had to say was sorry. No worries it's not like I haven't been out of water for 24 hours with livestock and animals to keep watered in these hot conditions. Luckily American Pump and Electric came through with wonderful service and resolved my issues unlike Comcast. I mean Johns. read more

We hired johns plumbing and pumps to come out and fix a clog in a pipe. First, they left the ladder they took from my back yard leaning against the front of my house and didn't bother to put it back where they found it. Then, they left my front door open and walked away at least three times after being asked not to as I have indoor only animals. Spencer was on the phone for 95% of the time and the kid doing most of the work did not seem like he knew what he was doing at all. They snaked the drain for a couple of hours and couldn't unclog it. They charged me $300. Spencer recommended a hydro flush of my drain, so I scheduled the service for the next day. They were there for 20-30 minutes. Spencer came and showed me the grease ball he got out of the drain, told me it was all clean - good to go and I could use my dishwasher as the pipes were good. They charged me $527. A week and a half later I start my dishwasher and go downstairs to find the sink flooding all over my carpet. I called johns plumbing at noon yesterday and was promised a call back. Hours later no one called, so I filled out their online form. No response. I called their office around 5 and got through to someone who again or promised I would get a phone call. Someone finally did call me to let me know that they would be glad to come back out to figure out the problem but not without charging more money. Talked to the owner the next day and he said they do not guarantee pipe cleanings and blamed me for the issue. He told me that It's "people like me" who give bad reviews when they are not warranted. He recommended that I have the entire pipe replaced. Spencer did not tell me that the drain might clog again, he did not tell me that replacing the pipe might be a better option, or an option at all. This company does not care about their customers. The owner was very rude and accepted no blame, did not apologize and continually told me that he spoke to Spencer in depth and that they did everything correct. If you care about quality and your money, do not use this company. I work for a construction company and do a lot of business with plumbers, and this company is by far the worst and most uncaring company I have ever dealt with. Thank you for reading. I am disgusted with the way they treated us and my landlord. Aaron was rude & condescending. They sent a plumber out to fix our dishwasher, a few days later the spinner inside melted because their guy didn't fix it correctly. This time, Aaron and two other guys came out & he kept saying he won't fix this problem or pay for it, that they don't "do" dishwashers (Yet THEIR GUY is the one who came to fix it the previous week...hmm Okay...) So FYI when they mess up, don't rely on them to fix it at all. There was absolutely no remorse about HIS guy not fixing it properly and they left within 5 minutes with no solution for us and my landlord. I am so irritated and I do NOT recommend them whatsoever. They need to do better, acknowledge when they mess up, fix the problem at hand and not treat people so poorly. Unbelievable. read more

I was initially told when I booked my appt the plumber would be at the residence between 9am - 12pm. My tenant agreed to wait at the house in lieu of running errands. At noon when the plumber didn't call or show, I told my tenant he didn't need to wait around. I was getting ready to call another company and schedule somebody else, but the plumber did end up calling shortly after and we agreed to have him come out anyway. He was very nice, had the quote ready to go and let me know BEFORE he did the work and was quick. Ultimately I can overlook the timing issue because I was completely satisfied with the interaction and the work done. Would most definitely use John's Plumbing again. read more

Terrible service - John's Plumbing did not show. I had an appointment Friday, September 21, 2018, 1:00 to 4:00. I came home from work to meet the technician, but he did not show up. I called the office and spoke with a nice lady. She called the technician and called me back. "Yes, he is still coming.", she said. He still did not show up. Finally, he called me about 6:00pm, Friday night. He asked if he could come Saturday, Sept 22. We agreed he would come about 10am but again I waited all day Saturday, 9/22/18, and he did not show up nor did he call. I called him but he would now answer. Received an estimate for a hot water heater that would only be heating a shower and washer/dryer in a mom n law suite attached to the main house. My biz partner got the bid which was 2700 for an 80 gallon tank???? I got to the house Friday afternoon and the two guys were wrapping up saying they didn't have a tub for the 80 gallon tank and suggested I go buy one at lowes!! They then told us we needed to cut a piece of plywood for the floor and would be back on Monday to complete the job. I They left for The Weekend leaving the house with no hot water. One of the two workers was argumentative, last and unwilling to finish the job the day they were there. I called in Monday to inform them if the problems I had and they didn't care and threatened us with a restocking fee for the 80 gallon tank. Terrible service, terrible job!!! read more
