I recently applied for the Credit Manager position with Johnson Paint. The phone interview felt phony and contrived. The woman who interview me seemed inexperienced and did not know how to properly conduct a professional interview . She barely went over my resume or qualifications for this positions! I felt my time was wasted. Then 7 days later, they (Johnson Paint) sent my a "canned" , cold automated duplicitous email, lying about moving forward with another candidate?! But when I went directly to their careers page on their corporate website, I noticed that the "Credit Manager" position was never filled! Mind you there was only one open position for this job! They lied to me , just to get rid of me and to deter me from applying for any other open requisitions with the Johnson Paint company! In retrospect, after reviewing several disgruntled customer experiences reviewed here on yelp.com, I'm glad employment with Johnson Paint did not come to fruition! read more

My experience was excellent. First I met with Anna who helped me with my wallpaper selection and also with paint colors for my kitchen. She patiently worked with me find the perfect color. I also decided to paint the legs of my butcher block cart. She helped choosing that color as well and it was perfect. Evan gave me lots of pointers on how to go about painting it like painting from the bottom up and I totally understand now why that has to be. He recommended a type of paint that is tougher than usual but still latex, which brush to use and told me I didn't need to sand which was a relief. I just had a stellar experience with these guys. To start, I had a bit of a problem with the apartment I was moving into. The previous tenant had painted the walls each a different color, then covered one of the walls with white board paint (that didn't actually dry-erase). I explained the predicament and they provided me with all the tools/instructions I needed to make my room all one, cohesive color (and texture!) They even took the time to explain different painting tools to me and to let me know when I'd chosen a more expensive item than what I needed for my project -- all without making me feel like the total novice that I am. I came in knowing nothing about paint whatsoever and they were helpful and really didn't try to make me feel stupid for not knowing anything on the subject. Customer service is the pits and their attitude is terrible. Went to buy 4 gallons of paint, had a question and they told me to wait. Our experience with Johnson's paint company as a whole is very positive and we would recommend them to everyone. This review is for Emmy Allen who is a special asset to this company. My husband I had gone in to Johnson's a couple of times to talk to Emmy Allen who had come recommended to us by my brother for her skills as a color designer. We were having a particularly difficult time finding colors for our old Victorian house for the past 5 weeks and had hired two color consultants without getting the help we hoped for. We called Emmy yesterday morning at around 8:30 saying we are still agonizing about colors and that I would go in at some time that day to see her again. I got to the store at around 10 AM and by then she had chosen and stapled together 18 different sets of 3 matching colors! I was speechless by how much work and care she had put in choosing those colors. When I told her that we had decided to add a 4th color since the last time we had met with her, she asked me to pick my top choices out of the 18 sets and proceeded cheerfully and professionally to find a 4th color for my 4 top options. She understood what we wanted even though we changed our mind often and couldn't quite verbalize what we were looking for. We finally feel that we found the color combination that we will capture the feeling we want for our home. Emmy is very skilled and excellent at what she does. Lots of pretty pens, pencils, and paper upstairs for the budding young artist. Prices are fair considering it's on Newbury Street. Continue on down to Mass Ave and Huntington St. to Utrecht for cheaper. These guys have more selection and it's laid out nicer. I like checking out the bulletin board. read more

I wish I could give them an extra star! I went to 3 or 4 different Benjamin Moore suppliers and Johnson Paint out-shined them in every way. The customer service was awesome, they even have a 'color expert,'. The staff helped me process the paint colors I had selected and gave me some great advice about not using one of the colors. They were patient when I took my time and stared endlessly at the paint cards. They brought the paint and supplies out to my car! Beat of all, the price. They had the lowest prices, hands-down. The Johnson Paint staff has skills. They know their paint and are unbelievable at matching colors. I heard that they could match colors to almost anything so I brought in an eggplant hoping they could match the shade (I wanted it for my office) They matched it perfect and didn't make me feel ridiculous for my request. read more

This consultant has a remarkable eye for yes, colors, and the ingredients - want white? she'll help you choose the option without yellow, or pink tones, etc. Need to add a contrast to the wall?
