I'm done with this dealer. Over the past 5 years I've purchased 3 new vehicles here. The amount of times I've visited this dealership and dealt with the crazy and ridiculousness...where do I even start. From leaving my work truck there for scheduled recall work for 10 days while on vacation and returning to "it'll be a bit before we can get to it". To, waiting for an oil change, listening to the staff shop talk for 2 hours and watching the technician literally holding a child in the shop while my vehicle was on the lift. This guy's family was in the shop with a toddler. Most recently, scheduling an appointment for an oil change, arriving, parking and then the search begins. Who's going to approach me and ask what I need. The answer is nobody. "You'll need to pull through the scanner" I was told. Got the report from the scanner, this thing identified bird poop and road grime on my vehicle as body damage on every panel. The vehicle is new, no damage. Then was told it would be 1.5-2 hours to complete my scheduled oil change. Total joke. I'll never be back to this place. This is not a big tourist town, this is a pretty small town in Texas Hill Country - land of a massive "work truck" community... after all the F150 is probably their most sold vehicle. Don't walk in expecting a bunch of people to come running and start waiting on you like you're at a Mercedes or BMW dealership. SPEAK UP and tell a desk person what you're looking for and all your needs will be met. My salesperson Jace was absolutely excellent and found the exact Maverick I wanted, had it transported from Oklahoma City, and I'm a happy owner today. Stay away from this place! This is the worst experience I have ever had a dealership. I am a loyal Ford owner who was looking for a new F150. I spent half the day working a deal with the salesman and agreed on a drive out price and was sent the buyers order. I then submitted the insurance information and my driver's license, along with the financing application. I told the salesman I would be there first thing in the morning as I had to drive up about 90 miles and was bringing my 2 trades. At about 5 o'clock that same day, the salesman calls and tells me he has bad news. The owner of the dealership decided to by my truck and I could no longer purchase it. I was shocked and told the salesman this was unacceptable and was offered nothing in return except that they would try and find me another similar vehicle. I then asked for them to offer me a more expensive (3K) vehicle at the same price, to which they declined to do so. I then told them the next day that I do not do business with companies that treat their customers in this fashion and we would not be doing business. It is one thing to have a car sold from under you, but when its the owner that takes it to another level! read more

We picked up our car that had been in the shop for airbag light and they said that the sunroof had a leak in it. Funny, this particular car is always parked outside and never ANY ISSUES. When we opened the door to the car the musty smell was overwhelming and we discovered that the passenger side floor board was literally soaking wet. No indication anything else had been in contact with water. Not the sunroof cover, or the seats, or any other floorboards. When we brought it to their attention they acted as if this was normal and ok and only upon my insistence did they vacuum out the car to soak up the gallonssss of water. They also put on random, mismatched tire air caps and completely left one off of one of the tires. Oh, and goldfish crackers in the back seat which were definitely not there to begin with. They never called or reached out when they said they would and didn't return calls as promptly as they should have. 100% do NOT recommend this dealership for the service of your vehicle. read more

We agree, and he sends me the contract/offer at the SAME TIME he says someone else is now buying the vehicle?? Fast forward to next day, I get a text saying it fell through and now I can buy it. But NO! This apparently was a 'miscommunication' ?????? COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND FRUSTRATING! It was clear that the Sales Manager, Brandon Garcia was more interested in making a few bucks on this sale than he was in providing customer service to the customer he was working with. Do not recommend their service or parts dept. I did try to share this via communicating with them personally, but they did not respond or care enough, so they offered this as an option. The only reason I had to use Ford was because of the computer issues that only Ford can take care of (just a sad reality that existed). They had my vehicle for over 3 weeks because of zero communication, waiting days to diagnose it, a week to get started on it after agreeing to the service needed on it & not getting parts ordered in a timely manner. They offered a 10% discount prior to service, then reneged on that at time of payment due. During the entire 3 week ordeal, it took an average of 3 messages & 1-2 emails to get a reply (one or two days later each time). Absolutely awful experience. Take your chances - I would avoid it. UPDATE: They did finally reply to state that the discounted labor offer of 10% was "a difference of understanding" (even though it is in an email from them) and never addressed that the approval I gave based on their quote to me had an added 11% price ($225.75). I was also told by the Sewell rep that she is "unable to adjust the final cost of repairs" (the extra $225.75 added to what I agreed for them to do) & she said " I do hope that I have been able to address some of your concerns". She gave me the excuses & did nothing to make any of it right. Just know this is who you get, so be prepared. read more

The service department here is an absolute tragedy. Wait time is consistently 50% longer (or more) than quoted and I have not once been here when they didn't try to upsell me on some dumb thing you don't need (fuel additives, undercarriage coating, whatever). My most recent (and final) trip I needed an oil change. I was second in line and was told I would be out in under an hour. 90 minutes later my vehicle had not even been moved from its original parking space, and there had been no employees working in any of the bays for the last 20 minutes. In a town with a multitude of service options there's no reason to ever use this one. read more

Scheduled service online for my (Ford) car for a whining noise at around 50 mph and a safety recall. Had to book weeks in advance (must be busy, good sign!). After they got it, it took about a week for their "transmission guy" to get to it. He came back with a diagnosis of failure of a transmission bearing. No specifics were given, but supposedly this was confirmed by DTC with a scanner. Of course, I'd already scanned with multiple OBD scanners and found no codes whatsoever, and no trouble lights were illuminated on the dash. Car still seemed to drive just fine, no changes to fuel efficiency, no weird lurching or issues with acceleration, shifting into gear, etc. The only remedy offered was a swap of the transmission with a remanufactured one. The quoted cost for this was almost double the high end estimate from a quick Google search (and more than triple the value of the car). I declined, paid my fee for the "diagnostic", and picked up my car. At least they fixed my recall issue - I mean I think they did. The service report they gave me, which was VERY light on actual details of findings, says they did, but I got at least 4 automated texts from the dealership in the following weeks stating the recall was still open. The last one came in about 3 weeks after picking up my car, so either they forgot to update some info, or actually didn't do it. ‍ Got another diagnostic done at Aamco in Austin. Within an hour and a half, the technician returned confirming no stored trouble codes and no abnormal sounds coming from the transmission, as verified by a stethoscope and test drive. Technician noted an alignment issue that was causing abnormal wear on tires. (No mention of this in my JS service report, by the way). Also took the time to show me the evidence on my tires, talk more about the use of the stethoscope, what he was listening for, etc., and even recommended a place right around the corner their customers had had good experiences with for alignments. All of this at no charge! (I'll be writing that review shortly). I also asked for a ballpark estimate for a transmission replacement for my car, just in case it was needed in the future. While he prefaced his answer with "The cost of parts/full transmissions isn't static", but that it would likely cost roughly in the range I'd Googled earlier, after receiving Johnson Sewell's quote of nearly double. That was seemingly too good to be true, so I had a third shop give me a diagnosis. Same thing: no codes, no indication the transmission is failing, alignment issue. I paid less than half of JS's diagnostic fee for this. The ONE good thing I can say is that my service rep at JS did a great job of keeping communication open and letting me know status almost daily, which is more than I can say about other dealership service depts I've dealt with. Thankfully all they got from me over this was a diag fee, but I'd recommend steering clear of JS MF service for anything outside of (very) basic car maintenance jobs if you value your time and money. They seem to be more apt to try and sell you a car if anything potentially more complicated comes up. read more

I've had to bring my car to these guys four times in a year for two repeat issues, one of which is still unresolved. I'm trying to sell my car and now have 4 service tickets on my car because of their incompetence. management is totally lacking in empathy. The first issue was a leaky oil pan. After having the car for 2 wks, they returned it and a week later it started leaking oil again. It was finally fixed after scheduling a second repair. The 2nd issue is a broken lift gate. I've had the car in with this service company twice. Each time they return it saying it's fixed, and the gate stopped working again soon after. I called the manager because this would be the 3rd time to bring it in expressing concern about the service tickets racking up as I'm trying to resell the car. He starts talking on top of me..."no one looks at a cars repair report when buying a car"..."when we've returned the car to you, those issues were fixed, so obviously somethings happening after we return them" "all I can say is just bring it back in our to another service center". Management talks over you, has zero empathy. The actual repair service is horrible. I will never, ever return to this place. read more

We purchased a full warranty. Black Label Lincoln Navigator. When you get a black label, they sold us on the experience you will receive as a black label customer. Needles to say, that experience is quite disappointing. Took them weeks to get our car in, was supposed to receive an SUV in meantime, for a sedan with a family of 5 that is impossible to fit. Took over a week to get the car serviced, wasn't able to fix it all either. Then when we got the car back, they left it with 12 miles to empty. Did not wash the car, did not vacuum it inside or clean it. Now that in general would not be a big deal, but it is when they said you will get all that. The loaner that they gave us by the way, we filled up to fill as a courtesy. Sad that the customer is providing a better user experience than the dealer. Anyone out there paying extra for the "Black Label" know that you won't get the experience they promised. read more

I brought my 2018 Ford Explorer in to have them fix a trailer hitch wiring issue caused by a uhaul installation gone wrong. The wiring caused an issue with the back up park assist and didn't work as the trailer wiring either. I asked them to fix the park assist issue but to also get the trailer wiring working properly and to not just clip the wire that uhaul installed. After personal inspection it looks like they did nothing to repair the hitch wiring and they didn't test it. It does not work. I called to ask for a refund as I personally repaired it. The service manager never called me back. UPDATE: The service manager called and issued a refund. read more

I bought my f150 king ranch at this dealership the same year my husband bought an f250 diesel from Mark same sales rep and same dealership. I wanted a specific color and they got it From another dealership. My f150 is a 2018 king ranch. I paid cash to have a 4 inch lift, a bed cover and a Ranch hand bumper put on by Johnson Sewell ford themselves they sold me them and installed. First thing happened is my cruise wouldn't work I took back many many times finally they said the Ranch hand bumper Was causing it. So they refunded me the price I paid over a year prior and charged me the new price of one. Even though it was there mistake Ok now the real deal my trucks service engine light goes on every 3-6 months. Granted they fix it and still do even though I'm just over my 36000 miles. But they refuse to change the cause which is the catalytic converter I have every episode on my Ford app. They will take my truck back and sell me another but I'm upside down $10k. So I bought this vehicle so I could keep and pass down to my daughter well she cannot even drive it because I don't want her stranded in it. They know I have no way to do anything. They said they don't do the lemon law that I have to call them and when I call them they say the dealer has to do that. It is such a. Joke we spent In less than 12 months at Johnson Sewell $140,000.00. And they have done nothing to make this right. Even Gene the service manger is embarrassed. But doesn't do anything. In most circumstances this is understandable as a supply and demand issue (being that there aren't any other Ford dealerships nearby) but after taking it in quite a few times for maintenance repairs, it's apparent this is a quality of work issue. If you don't know exactly what your car needs than you're better off taking it elsewhere bc they likely won't know either. Initial experience was great on a used car purchase, last Saturday. Drove the car, declined using their financing as my bank of 30+ years gave me better rates. Advised I was already approved and would have the check in a couple of business days. Offered to leave a deposit and they declined. I joked, "Don't sell this car out from under me." Oh nono, they assured. Get my check in hand and call them to arrange to pick it up the following weekend. They said I needed to pick it up that day or they were selling it to another buyer. This is in the middle of the week, when my husband can't take off work to drive me 70 miles and then drive his car back home. They ended up sending a driver for me, and he was lovely. Service/parts department has turned into a real nightmare. I always brought my super duty here for service and it was great. We even bought our new ranger here a few months back. the ranger had an a/c issue that was covered and went in for repair. ended up being there almost a month because of additional damage to console service made during the repair. had to wait for parts. Then service damaged panel clips when removing headliner and again had to wait on parts. When we finally got our ranger back, the dash and windshield was covered in greasy fingerprints and smears, headliner stained from grease, front leather seats covered in grease, weatherstripping improperly re-installed damaged and buckled, trim and handles loose on passengers side, tools and trash left in the back seat along with stray clips and zip ties and now the front drivers door rattles when the radio is on. Contacted the parts dept and brought it back in, they were able to fix most problems, but when the service manager came out, didn't event get a hello, or an introduction, basically looked over the truck and said just write it up the customer isn't happy and left. Couldnt even muster up eye contact. So now we get to wait for even more parts to be replaced due to damage caused by service/parts. If these are all the issues we found within 48hours of getting our vehicle back what other issues are underlying and shoddy work lies buried deep in the repairs? The best part of this whole interaction was parts and service arguing back on forth as to which department is responsible. Pointing fingers at each other passing the blame. To me the end user, I don't see nor care about departmental relationship, y'all are just ford to me. I'd suggest passing this dealership for the next closest. It's a real mule show.... read more

She went there to purchase her new tires instead of going to her original dealership or somewhere else because they fed her some promo about a deal they were having on roadside assistance and that she couldn't get that same deal anywhere else. So she purchased 4 brand new tires from them and asked to get the roadside assistance. She ran off the road to avoid hitting a deer and now all 4 tired are busted. She called this dealership to have them replaced and they "claim" she never purchased the roadside assistance when she specifically asked them she wanted it. Now they won't replace her tires. After a very disappointing (read "annoying") experience with Austin's best know Ford dealer, I decided to drive to Johnson Sewell in Marble Falls for a long overdue air bag replacement. Service manager Glen and writer Mary promised they would take special care of my custom painted, very low mileage Mustang convertible. They estimated a half-day's time, but finished in one hour!
