Brought my car in Monday, was told they would contact me monday, or Tuesday at the latest. Wednesday rolled around and I had not heard from them so I called in. They patch me through to the mechanic who OF COURSE tells me I need a new engine. My car was making a knocking noise which I thought was maybe a loose valve rocker, or worst case a rod bearing. The noise was coming from the top of the engine, so I was thinking valve related. Here's where it got super suspicious. The mechanic told me there was zero oil in my car, and that the engine codes I had given them were of no help. As fact, I had checked my oil the day before driving in, and it was at the perfect level. As fact, I did not give them any codes. I assured the mechanic there was oil in the car, he told me there was none and my engine was cooked. Needed a new one. I asked for pricing. He gave me a ballpark but said he can check around for a reconditioned engine. I asked him to put together a full, formal estimate and let me know a price. He said he would get back to me today or tomorrow. I didn't hear back at that day or the next, so on friday I called in and said I will be picking up my car. And this is the wild part. As I walk up to the place, I see my car parked our front. Same make, same model, same color. TURNS OUT, it was not my car. Mine was parked out back. I drove my car across the street, parked, popped the hood and checked the oil. Completely perfect level. I sincerely beleive that they looked at the other car that was just like mine, which probably had no oil, and they read me the diagnosis for that car. Frustrated, I go home and start watching youtube videos about engine noises and possible fixes. 400 bucks in parts later and a lot if swear words, my car is no longer making the knocking noise and is running great. Maybe it was a fluke that they had two Chrysler 300s there at the same time, but it was wild how bad the communications were, and how the mechanic just flat out didn't believe me when I said it had plenty of oil and I never gave them codes. While I am happy to have saved anywhere from 8000 to 10,000 bucks, it does not sit well with me that I paid 200 bucks for non responsiveness and a diagnosis that was 100% off. For the algorithm, below is a picture of my engine taken apart by me. Oh that reminds me, based on the condition of the engines dirt and grime, I am even MORE convinced that they never touched my engine.

Where do I start, it feels like it has been so much. My car was in this shop for over 4 months…read morelet's start there. I must admit the first part of the repairs after being referred by a trusted friend went a little slow but the team tried as much as I rhink professionally possible to communicate which is what the maintenance insurance relied on, we had Hector who appeared to not know what was going on, unable to communicate with us or the insurance company unless Armando was around. Several times the insurance would say one thing, we would communicate another and Hector would get it all wrong. But we finally got to the end portion of the initial repairs and was ready for pick up drove it home and misfire and continue to happen take it back immediately. Honestly we can bet the local mechanics put the car back together incorrectly which triggered another problem with the motor, we paid deductible car returned and remained another 2 months, called finally finish expecting another deductible no ownership of time, repairs mishaps mind you what was the problem was not listed on diagnostic so therefore it happened while in their care, and thenin house tech basically shared that with us. The mismatch unprofessional misfits insisted on the deductible and tried to hold vehicle because insurance hadn't sent payment which has nothing to do with us. Remember this maintenance insurance works directly with shop, and they know that. Again, that Hector barking crazy talk while Armando sat on the phone what's happening did they pay did they pay. I would never recommend this shop to no one, this shop made close 10k via insurance the least they could have done was waive the deductible with all they put us through. We still had work, car payment, insurance. I had to tell the misfit Hector when I get there I do not want to see a dirty truck, wash my vehicle this is the only reason it was cleaned because the first pick up they did nothing. Extremely unhappy with this shop especially the staff.

I was skeptical of the diagnosis and wanted to get a second opinion. When I was checking out, I asked the rep (apparently the son from the family ownership) whether they would realign the car for free if I had the repairs done elsewhere and then brought it back, since the woman on the phone previously told me they would. He immediately became defensive and aggressive, raised his voice, and said they don't work for free. I've never been yelled at by a business before, and it caught me completely off guard. I asked for my invoice and prepared to leave. He continued arguing, then changed his tune and said they would align it for free only if they did the repairs themselves. I paid and left. I went to another shop for a second opinion, and it turned out all the car needed was replacement wheels, nothing close to the extensive repairs I was told were necessary. The car now drives perfectly. I'm relieved I didn't authorize the work they recommended. Consumer beware: based on my experience, this business may claim that far more repairs are needed than what is actually required.
