This time, I thought to try ABF because they're a trustworthy freight mover Their containers come in a smaller size than those of PODS. (I'm thinking right now that two of these containers will not hold a 3 bedroom house's contents, per the quote. You can start the quote online, make changes, and even contract for help on either end. After I finished making changes, I called the company with some questions, and as well, to get the process moving. Mark picked up the phone and was friendly and answered the questions reassuringly. It went smoothly, even though I don't have an address at the other end yet. They sent some forms, including one for Gypsy Moths since I'm moving to California. I was told that they charge after they pick up the containers. They asked me to call them when I'm ready to have them picked up. This was confirmed today. There is no early, automatic pick up. However, they have a three day loading period that doesn't cost extra. If you go beyond that, they charge you a storage fee. Since I'm already going to be charged for storage, I think it doesn't matter. Last Friday, they called to set a drop-off time for Monday, and they were closer to the late end of that window, but that's fine. It's better than the Cable company arriving after you return to work, and then, complaining that *you* blew the appointment, right? The driver was friendly and asked where to put the containers. They use a large forklift to move them from the trailer to your selected location, and they have the ability to position them at any of four angles (facing garage, facing away, facing right, facing left). The documentation says to use a flat surface, but a slanted driveway is fine.

I got a courtesy call the day of arrival letting me know about the Covid procedure and to call 1 hour before arriving to give time for my cube to be brought to the unloading space. I called 2 hours ahead and after they did the Covid paper and "checked in" they had to wait another 25-30 minutes for them to bring up the cube. The cube was supposed to already be to the front. Other than that, great company and service.

I got Mr. Watters name from my son in law, and we called at 10:30 and they were here at 12:30. First they corrected the drain issue and then replaced the pipe, all in less than an hour. It was a father and son, both were friendly, and I thought extremely reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone with a problem. We found this company on yelp recommendations for tree services. We contacted them at 8:00 in the…read moremorning and asked if they gave free estimates, and specified that we did not want any work done till we had a quote and confirmed. They arrived with in 30 minutes of the quoted time. After looking at the situations, we asked for a quote for just tree cutting (cutting the fallen tree to manageable sections) and one quote for complete removal. The complete removal was quoted to be $1400. I said that it sounded great and asked him to please send me a written quote to ensure that the price and work expectations will be the same. He said okay, and asked me to text the email to him. Within roughly less than 3 hours, and 4 exchanges... he finally sent me a written quote of $2100. When inquired if it was an error, he texted back and said "It's not a mistake; sometimes it happens when you look for several quotes and then you make a decision" 10:20 I texted my email to him as requested at the end of meeting 11:50 He texted me and that he sent the quote. He only sent for cut only, not for cut and haul. So I immediately asked for a full clearing quote. 1:09 I get the quote for full clear and asked if it was an error - much more than discussed 1:19 he said "It's not a mistake; sometimes it happens when you look for several quotes and then you make the decisions." A company that literally jacked up your price because you were shopping for a quote - is not trustworthy to perform work without written quote.. Would not recommend work without written quote for buyer protection. We did not have them waiting for an unreasonable amount of time by any stretch of the imagination - most of it was waiting for them to send me written quotes. Pictures just to give you the idea of how interested I was and really wanted a written estimate.

We scheduled the work based on that agreement -- only for them to come back later demanding a higher price ($400 more) and insisting they also take the cut wood that we very clearly said we wanted to keep. They used to excuse for wanting to take the wood as there reason to not complete the job. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, communication completely fell apart after that. They stopped responding, never followed through on the revised plans, and ultimately wasted our time. We rearranged our schedules for their availability, only to be left hanging with no explanation. Professionalism, reliability, and honest pricing matter -- and unfortunately, this company fell short on all three. I would not recommend them based on our experience.
