The doctors are great--I have absolutely no complaints about them…read more My issue is with the billing department and front office staff. I was effectively dismissed from the practice because of a $45 copay that went unpaid for more than 90 days. When I called to schedule an appointment with my eye doctor, the front desk told me that my account had been sent to collections and that they could not--or would not--schedule me. I was told I was no longer allowed to be seen by the practice. For context, I had been a cash-pay patient for more than 10 years because I did not have health insurance. During that time, I paid thousands of dollars out of pocket for treatment of uveitis, an ongoing eye condition that is causing vision loss in my right eye. When I finally obtained insurance and used it for the first time, no one informed me that I had a $45 copay. The bill went unpaid for over 90 days, and apparently that was enough to have me sent to collections and dismissed as a patient. I contacted the billing department to resolve the issue. They could not tell me which collection agency had the debt, and they would not accept my $45 payment directly. Frustrated, I left $45 cash at the front desk and left. Two months later, while still experiencing a significant flare-up of my condition, I called again to schedule an appointment. I was told I still owed money, that my account had been sent to collections, and that I had been dismissed from the practice. There was no record of the $45 cash payment I had left. I can't help but wonder whether my doctor is aware that a long-time patient with a serious eye condition was turned away over a delinquent $45 copay, that was paid.

Nope, the staff just puts you in a room, shuts the door and that's it. Good luck with your wait time. I went out to check to see if they forgot about me after almost 45 mins or what the excessive delay was and I was told that I need to be respectful. I did not raise my voice or swear. I just inquired about the delay and that this is uncomfortable and frustrating. Don't make it my issue that you cannot treat your patients in a timely manner. I will say their Manager Daniel was a pleasant surprise. He listened, was empathetic and stated that someone should be communicating when there are excessive wait times. His future is bright!

He put me in reading glasses when I was a kid to strengthen vision through vision training (which I still wear though the RX occasionally changes) and to this day, I still have 20/15 (yes, better than 20/20)! He's seen members of my family, extended family and friends for years. He is compassionate, a true medical professional and takes your eye health very serious - and he has quite the sense of humor! It is a small, single doctor private practice but I feel better going there than a big box store where they just want to make a buck. I recommend him to anyone looking for an optometrist or with eye care issues.

I want to add a full-throated endorsement of Dr. Loftus' abilities and professional manner. I have a long history of being disappointed at the optometrist's because I have a difficult prescription. Even if they get it right, the lenses often come back with issues that make them unusable. This has become especially problematic in the past 15 or so years, with all the new new materials they use to slim down lens thicknesses. I had several visits with Dr. Loftus, both for a new eyeglass prescription and for new contacts. I just received my eyeglasses yesterday and they're PERFECT. It's been a long time since I got good lenses on the first go and I am really enjoying them. Additionally, I'd like to mention that the office staff are competent, efficient and friendly. I opted to bring in my old Dunhill frames for my new lenses. This was not a problem either! The lens makers did a good job - they're not metal frames and could have easily cracked as they're over 30 years old - well... they're just fine too and I am wearing them now. Just like old times. Now I get to look just like I did in the 80s! Well, not really, but I can't blame Dr. Loftus for that. See Dr. Loftus and you will see better!

Friendly, detailed eye exam. Good explanation of what was being done. No pressure to buy glasses.read more

Some have gone corporate, some don't have inventory/frame choices, some cater to women and not men only, some have horrible customer service and when you go in they make you feel like you are a burden to them. None of these things apply to Advanced: I have NEVER experienced such great care. Advanced wants to get it right for you and they will--that's their promise and they live up to it. Additionally, they are fun people to work with. I love their extremely broad choice of styles. I've also had some issues with my frames after I totally crushed them when they fell out of my bag, and they were able to fix them on the spot. They also are really great about living up to warranties and getting that sorted in a timely manner. I highly recommend these folks for a great small business in the Valley that gets it right on all levels!

The office informed us that the decision was made after my wife posted an honest review about her experience. I was never given the opportunity to be seen, and my appointment was canceled even though I had done nothing wrong. It was disappointing to have my care affected because a family member shared feedback about her own visit. Canceling an established patient's appointment under these circumstances was frustrating and forced me to start over with another provider, delaying my eye care. I believe patients should be able to leave honest reviews without worrying that they or their family members will lose access to care. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. Patients deserve to be treated fairly, even when they express concerns or criticism.

Nearly 6 months after his initial exam we finally were able to get exactly what their doctor said he needed and moved forward on getting his order for the year taken care of. From being put on hold for over 20 mins, to given wrong information, wrong trial contacts ordered and follow up calls on items we already picked up - our 1st experience here gave us the impression that this place is one hot mess.
