You know it's a good sign when you walk in to a food establishment, and all the tables inside and out are full! This could partially be attributed to the fact that JoJo's seems to be the only location in the Fresno area with "Shaved Snow" - similar to shaved ice, but a different texture. I appreciate their wide variety of flavors and options - there are numerous combinations to come back and try! It's hard to judge a place off of one visit, but I was immediately helped and served quickly by a nice young woman. JoJo's also has a customer loyalty card, which is always a good thing in my book. Though it was hard to choose from the flavors, I settled on green tea, topped with condensed milk, kiwi, and strawberries. I appreciated that all the fruit was sweet and obviously ripe. The flavor of the green tea shaved snow itself was delicious. I felt like I had to eat it slowly because it's kind of difficult to get on the spoon. Speaking of spoons, the hands-down best feature of this place is their color changing spoons! Pink when it's warm, purple when it's cold! I felt like a kid again, but heck, why not? I have been to this place about three times now. It's a pretty far drive, so I can't be here as often as I hope. I've only had the shaved snow here, I never really put much thought into trying their yogurt. The first time I came here I got chocolate shaved snow with condensed milk, strawberries, and bananas. This was the first time I've ever had shaved snow, and I was pleasantly surprised! It was so soft, and it actually wasn't as sweet as I expected it to be. The second time I got Taro shaved snow with condensed milk, lychee jelly, and strawberries. I'm a big taro fan, and this really rose up to my expectations. It wasn't too sweet which was a perfect due to the fact that the lychee jelly was already really sweet. The addition of strawberries topped it off with a nice tart taste. This third time visiting I got avocado shaved snow, lychee jelly, and strawberries. I added strawberries simply because I had no idea what else would go well with avocado. I'm not too sure I will be getting this again. I am a big avocado fan, although I eat my avocado with a lot of condensed milk. Unless you don't mind a not so sweet avocado, I don't suggest getting it. Edit: Fourth visit here, and was very pleased with my shaved snow combination! I got green tea shaved snow, condensed milk, lychee jelly, and strawberries. I am aware I always get lychee jelly and strawberries, but nothing else seems to catch my eye! Best shaved snow ice in fresno and I think the only one in the area ( snow ice is not shaved ice just so everyone knows). They have like 5 flavors which includes taro, strawberry, pineapple, green tea, and just milk. It's amazing so refreshing and did I mention you get two sides too, and the choices are huge for the sides from fruits, to nuts and even candies ! It's only 3.95 for a small and $6.00 for large. Small is good enough really !!! And then try different flavors and share. The location is very convenient and it's a new place, it's very clean and so cute looking. Nice and comfortable too. Great little yogurt and shaved ice spot! The store front is bright and inviting. There is an outdoor patio to enjoy your cool treat, but the inside is even better! The restaurant is clean, the tables are orderly and never sticky. The seating is comfortable and there is a kids table with tiny stools my daughter loves. There are several sweet and tart flavors to choose from including dole whip! There is something for everyone. I found the variety of flavors to be just perfect. My daughter really loves the cherry orchard and white vanilla. My husband likes the coconut, chocolate and a little bit of birthday cake. The machines are clean and in good repair. I like that you can actually control the flow of yogurt into your cup, instead of unleashing the flood gates of yogurt. This encourages one to try several flavors. The toppings bar is clean and well stocked with several candies and crunchy items. My favorite is the mochi and the poppers. The fresh fruit is always tasty and don't forget the cherry on top. If you're a hot fudge lover like my hubby JoJo's has you covered there too. Tonight I chose to try the shave ice. It is amazing. It is lighter than snow; creamy sweet, delicious snow. I tried the Thai tea flavor, and because I'm a plain Jane I opted for no toppings, but I must say it would've been amazing with marshmallow cream. Not bad! 4 stars for now, only because I have not tried their shaved snow yet. But it does look pretty good on their website. I believe this place is just having their soft opening for the next following week or so when I came in yesterday, but I was pretty pleased with their staff, who were all very welcoming, and the amount of fresh toppings they had. I haven't been to Yogurtland in a long while, but it looked like they had as much, or maybe even more toppings than what they offer. Mochi, pearls, and jelly etc were all available, which I always look for in froyo places. I had the Mango Tango (I think that is what they called it) and one of the Chocolate yogurt flavors. Both were very good, and I like how they have the sample cups ready to be used if you want, instead of having to ask the workers for one. There is also plenty of seats and tables available here, and parking is not that bad in the area. And it is $.43/oz. OMG!! I really love their shaved ice here! It's not like the Hawaiian shaved ice its more like Taiwanese style shaved ice...light and fluffy!! Went in yesterday just for frozen yogurt and ended up getting shaved snow. My fiancé and I tried the frozen yogurt, but nothing was sounding good. The I saw the shaved snow menu and cashier was nice enough to make us a sample of the green tea with honey. Even though the the green tea was delicious, I ended up with the taro and condensed milk. MM MM MM! I'm reviewing the shaved snow since that's what I mainly think is special about this place. I've never had shaved show before prior to coming here, and don't know where else I could get it from. But I have to say that it's very similar to eating ice cream, but much more lighter, airier, and flakier. It's delicious! But of course, I've only tried a few flavors, and the one that I really loved was chocolate. The others that I've had - green tea, nutella, strawberry - are all okay tasting, but not spectacular. OH but chocolate! I had chocolate shaved show with marshmallow creme and white chocolate syrup on top, with a side of almonds and oreo cookie bits. Pure HEAVEN! One of those rare foodie moments where I would put a spoonful in my mouth, smile, and savor that moment of wonder. So that's why I would give it 5 stars, for how good the shaved snow is depending on your combination of flavors. As for the froyo, I've had it once and it's your typical froyo. It would be nice if they had more variety of things such as italian ice or gelato to go with the froyo. I've had a combination of things such as chocolate gelato and mint froyo at another place before and it's an interesting combination. It would be cool if JoJo's did something like that. Nice having more of these little yogurt places all around town! I absolutely love frozen yogurt. Having a yogurt place there's not much you can go wrong with. All yogurt places have the same flavors and sides, for the most part. This one though offers something new and yummy shaved snow. Which is a frozen black (flavored milk) that gets shaved off once you order to give you that airy snow texture. Wanting some yogurt I noticed this one was only 1.5 miles away from where I am located. So I had to stop by and get some for a little treat. I got my husband the vanilla with mango and strawberry boba balls, and blueberries as the toppings...he's in heaven. I got myself the small shaved snow (4.25$) which is included with one syrup and two toppings. I tried the taro snow flavor (taste like cotton candy) with condensed milk as my flavor and my two sides cheesecake squares and strawberry bobba balls. Although I could not taste the condensed milk nor could I see it, I did call in asking if she forgot to add it. She said she did it probably sunk in, I could drive back and get some of I wanted to (inconvenient). Overall yogurt was great customer service was very poor though. The workers were not friendly, don't smile, look like they hate there job. They were not very welcoming and because of that I have them 3stars.. I came here for the first time with my son. Their froyo selection was very limited. Sample cups set out which was nice. However, when dispensing the yogurt, it came out watery and one of the dispenser levers was stuck. Their additional ingredient selection looked nice until I saw a fly land on the mochi pieces. I told the attendant who did not seem to hear me. I spoke up and she still kept her back turned & did not acknowledge that I had said anything until I mentioned to the other girl working that the froyo was melty. I chose not to purchase one for myself mainly due to the poor service by CATARINA. My son did enjoy his. He had a cheesecake and oreo mix with pistachio. His small cup was filled less than half way and the total was $5.30 for 11.4 oz at $0.43/oz. He did say that he would not come here again (he's 8 and might just be siding with mom). The staff is very friendly I have had better yogurt at Micky's in Clovis for less of a price per ounce. The cherry on the cake for this shop is their "Shaved Snow". Those that have reviewed this as Shaved Ice are incorrect. This is different: In Shaved Ice, the business will install a block of pure ice into the machine and shave it, then hand pack it, then add the syrup flavors to the ice. In this shop the "Shaved Snow" flavor(s) is already infused into the block of ice so when they shave it, no syrup flavors are added to the ice to get the flavor. Currently they advertise about 6 flavors. If you get the small for $3.95 it is a very large portion. For that price you get 2 toppings and 1 syrup... traditionally, condensed milk is used. When you put some of the "Shaved Snow" into your mouth you will find that the consistency is nothing like Shaved Ice. It feels like you have bitten into cotton candy....kind of dry and cold at the same time. I had the strawberry with strawberry and cheesecake toppings with condensed milk as my syrup. It was "OK" but I would want to see if I can get something with more flavor the next visit. Their yogurt prices are a bit high at .43 cents per oz compared to other competing shops. read more

I was seriously disappointed in the quality of the yogurt, First off it was runny, and melted far faster then what Im used too, and second it was way over flavored, the flavors were too strong. What really irked me was the sanitary nature of the place, their were customers in there with no shoes, dirty hands, touching all the toppings, and eating off the top. While I was waiting to get my toppings, there was a child who was touching and eating the toppings, dropping them on the floor, touching the tongs (both ends) with his dirt covered hands, all the while the dad was doing nothing to stop it. Other places have staff there to kindly and professionally remind the parents to not let the kids serve themselves. Nobody was there to intervene. So the blame In my opinion rests on both the parent and the management and staff of this place. Parking was horrible, you have to cross a driveway that services a higher volume store and nothing was convenient to the entrance. The overall layout was crowded inside the store, maybe it was because of how many people were in there, but there was nothing to create any sense of order. people just meandering and walking all over the place, not to mention the kids that were running all over.
