BEST POKE IN THE WORLD... IMO. I live in west LA and most poke places go out of businesses after a couple years except for a place called Sweetfin.... Sweetfin has NOTHING on butterfish. I've eaten poke all over SoCal and Hawaii and Butterfish hands down is the bestttttt! I for real would invest in opening a BF in LA. Also, I was having a really bad day and I accidentally ordered my bowl at the wrong location and they were so nice and made me a new bowl at this location. The customer service is great, the portions are fire, the price is THE BEST, and the curation of each bowl's ingredients is ART. I'd love to see some cauliflower rice in place of rice.... Butterfish is our favorite go to spot for poke places in Fresno/Clovis. We had many to go and dine in orders from here, and never disappointed. Fish always being fresh compared to other spots in Fresno. They have quite a large set of ingredients and sauces ones could customize and create their own bowl. Had this Doordashed tonight, and I don't know if it was because it was a Doordash order or what, but it was not very good and not worth the money. Great selection of options, but a bowl that costs $22 should have more fish than this. It was $3 extra for lump crab, and I swear I got maybe two tiny bites of lump crab. I opted for extra shrimp, and that's about the only thing there's very much of, but sadly, the fish and shrimp seem old--not fresh. They have that extra fishy flavor of seafood that is not fresh. I love fish, but I couldn't finish eating this bowl. I get sushi from several different local places and it never has this old fish taste/smell, and you get way more food for the money. At least the ginger was good for getting the taste out of my mouth when I decided I didn't want to eat any more. Honestly, this experience may have soured me on poke bowls in general. read more

I am really glad I found this place. I've been having bad luck finding food here in Clovis and a friend recommended that I try this place. I ordered for takeout since I was just on my lunch break. I never found a poke bowl place that's offered beef and bacon fried rice and it was great. I also had salad, imitation crab, salmon and tuna and it was really good. Everything always tastes fresh and the sauces are good too.! you get a good amount because I usually don't finish my bowl in one sitting. Just no. I didn't know 2 scoops meant 2 pieces each scoop & a couple strings of imitation crab (no exaggeration) with the smallest bit of rice. All I could think was "what am I going to eat after this." I was applauded by the chintzy portions & the overload of toppings & sauce to hide the fact that there is no actual poke in your poke bowl. To top it off not a single worker looked like they wanted to be there & didn't treat any of us any better than they felt. We placed our orders for the Teriyaki Beef Bowl w/Bacon Fried Rice, Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, Honey Walnut Shrimp Salad & a "Build your own Bowl: Thai Beef w/Bacon fried Rice. Everything was good, but both the beef & chicken teriyaki bowls could have used extra sauce. I didn't taste the teriyaki at all! I don't know if the cook forgot the sauce. The bowls also took a long time! The Honey Walnut Shrimp was refreshing. My daughter got the Bacon Fried Rice with her bowl. I tried it and liked it a lot! I'll definitely get that instead of the regular Sushi rice in future bowls. I had to make 3 separate payments at checkout even though all the bowls were on one order! It was a bit of an inconvenience. The cashier did apologize. The restaurant tables were full when we first arrived, but we were able to get a table. I usually get the regular bowl (3 scoops of protein), with white rice. Sometimes I'll add a little bit of the crispy wonton chips. I always go with the raw salmon, my fave. 2 scoops. My third scoop will vary but I usually lean towards the scoop of crab. I get the Spicy Mayo sauce (there's a few sauces to choose from), add in the cilantro, green onions, and so forth. The 5 toppings will almost always be: cucumbers, seaweed salad, avocado, fish eggs, and mandarin (this last choice varies)... Top it off with more spicy mayo and I have the perfect meal to keep me satisfied for a little while. It's quick, it's refreshing, not too heavy. I've tried a few other things off my friends and family but this is my go-to choice. I don't think you could go wrong though, as long as you know what you like. There are also cooked options, and bowls that have pre-selected goods if you need a little nudge on which way to go. Give it a try! read more

I love this place. Best poke in town. The people that review saying that the portion sizes are small are literal big backs. One bowl is more than enough whether it's regular or large. I've tried the Tokyo fries and I like them as well. They have a lot of sauce so if you're not into saucy or even soggy fries just ask for the sauce on the side. My last review was from five years ago and it's great to see that nothing has changed! It's still a very clean restaurant, super friendly workers, and insanely fresh food. I went with one of their signature bowls, the Rising Sun. This bowl is massive and filled with seared ahi, sushi rice, crispy wontons, miso vinaigrette, jalapeño, shaved snap peas, green onions, cilantro, spicy mayo drizzle, chili mandarins, sesame seeds, macadamia nuts, tempura crumbles. I had them take off the chili mandarins and wontons; added avocado. Like I said the portions here are huge and this bowl was no different. The ahi offering was hearty and all of the "fixings" were top notch. I love that even though I ordered a signature bowl I can still add as many extra toppings as I wanted. If I had one small complaint, I could have used a tad more sauce in my bowl. They now offer curbside and pickup orders and even have a walk up window that helps you avoid the line inside. It was late afternoon both times and I wonder if they just don't store the fish properly between lunch and dinner.
