This is such a chill place to get coffee just outside of Old Town Clovis. The garden offers a relaxed (and somewhat whimsical) place to gather with friends under the shade of the giant tree, with plenty of options for seating and a friendly cat named Turkey to greet you. The interior is unique, with the coffee bar being light and airy, full of ferns, friendly staff and delicious coffee and through a door down the hallway, you have the option to sit in the bar which is a western style saloon with the most gorgeous stained glass. It might be off putting to some that it's a 21+ coffee shop, but that's because at night it's The Backyard Social Club. If that's a dealbreaker for you, there are other Old Town options. Came here after an appointment and as a first time guest, I didn't think any of the girls who were working were friendly. I got my drink really quickly which was odd but when I tasted it, it tasted like milk - not sure what coffee beans they use, but I wasn't fan. I don't think I would come back. read more

I've been wanting to try this spot for awhile, especially seeing how nice it is on instagram. Since we were in the area, we stopped by and I was very impressed! The place was decorated uniquely and was very lively. The service was just alright. There were two of them working and we had came in just 30mins before the coffee studio closed, and a line was slowly piling up so I get that. Their coffee was very good! I got the salted caramel shaken espresso and it was delicious!! I also got a chai tea with some espresso, however it wasn't good. I am not sure if it was the chai or the espresso but something in that drink did not taste good to me so it ended up not getting finished. It was an off-menu/customized drink however. read more

My wife ordered the maple chai latte and I got the ice americano with agave syrup. Both were delicious, but I did have some order envy after I sipped my wife's latte; it was so smooth loaded with fall flavors! My iced americano was on point. Emi? Pulled the perfect espresso pour and the agave syrup added slightly dulled that espresso bitterness flavor, but didn't overpower anything. I've been here twice. One to try a matcha latte and the second I tried their banana bread latte. I definitely prefer their coffee over the matcha. I thought the banana bread flavor was good and not overly sweet which I like. Service is okay. I like how it's a 21+ place. Inside at the Backyard Social Club is a new cafe called Monstera Coffee Studio. It shares the space and outdoor seating with The Backyard Social Club but is open from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. daily. Very cute outdoor seating area or there are a few tables inside along with a barstool and counter area near the ordering counter. High quality matcha teas and Chai. No pre-made pre-sugared powders here. My son ordered the matcha cubano special, and I ordered the chai. Both were excellent. They also have bagels and house made smears on the menu, which we didn't try today but if anything like the quality of their drinks this place is going to be quite popular in a short amount of time. This place was super cute walking in, there was definitely a crowd but they were moving fast on orders. The baristas could be a bit more friendly but to each their own. What a tucked-away gem! There's plenty of seating spread across the cafe, bar, and patio. On my first visit I tried their chai latte - it was lighter than most, since they make it from loose-leaf tea rather than a concentrate. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try their coffee and bagels. It's a child-free space (yes, there are signs, lol), which almost earned them an automatic five stars. I didn't have the chance to look in depth inside but from the entrance I could see that it was beautiful and had "moody," chill vibes. I wasn't feeling my best the day that I went so I just walked in and walked out but I had my husband go later in the day to get me their Banana Latte since I've been wanting to try one for a while now. I'm glad that they had a decaf option but the coffee was a little too strong for my liking. Overall though, I assume their coffee is good quality and very likable by avid coffee drinkers. read more

A hidden gem within another hidden gem. The atmosphere to start is unlike any other place. There's indoor and outdoor seating in a backyard atmosphere. Grab your buddies and have coffee or do a Bible studies or small little meeting in the backyard. The coffee was really good. The coffees separate themselves from all the big names for sure. The price was far, though for me size of the in-house mugs could be a little bigger. But the Chatilly coffee, banana bread coffee, and pumpkin pie latte were what we ordered. All were very good and it made our experience worth it. We definitely want to come back. We also ordered an everything bagel with their house made cream cheese. Tried this place back in December during my finals week, so this review is a bit late. I was searching up coffee/cafe places in Clovis/Fresno on Tiktok to try, and this place popped up. It was only a 10 min drive from my house, which I was happy about since I typically drive 15-20 minutes to other cafe places. The inside of the place was very cute, and I ended up getting an iced matcha latte with oat milk and also got their yogurt parfait. The parfait was just okay, but their matcha was pretty good. Wish the matcha had been a bit stronger in taste, but that's just a preference thing. It's connected to the Backyard Social Club, where I was able to get some studying in. Such a chill place to study and get some work done! I honestly will be coming back to try some of their signature coffee drinks, and get another productive study day in. read more

The atmosphere is a 5, very welcoming indoor and outdoor seating. The backyard though, has an amazing tree right in the center. Koi pond with sounds of running water lots of seating, games to play or relax in the tranquility. The baristas were very attentive. They have to go cups or ceramic mug with foam art for those staying to enjoy their order. I had the banana latte, extra hot, with oat milk. There was real banana in the drink (which was a nice touch), not too sweet (that's the way I prefer it), coffee was a bit acidic (for my liking), a little too much water was added (for my liking). Not a bad cup of coffee, I felt the cup was a bit on the smaller side, I did feel the pricing was fair. I would recommend and return to try other menu items. Anything that may not have been my preference in my order the atmosphere made up for it. This is a neat spot to meet up with friends or just relax with a book.
