Jolanda's is located is in the same mall as Smart & Final, just a few doors down from Handel's ice cream. It is a favorite joint for locals who want to enjoy a leisurely brunch. I was craving a good croissant today so Jolanda's is the natural choice. You may say I ordered a croissant with a side of omelette, while my wife ordered an omelette with a side of sourdough. The croissant is so huge that you can order it with a side of eggs or cheese to make yourself a croissant sandwich. I enjoyed the taste of roast beef in my bistro omelette. The plating is pleasant to the eye. Its owner must like roosters because you see it everywhere. Jolanda's is a small place with only one server but she took good care of everyone. Just be patient and you will have a good experience.

    Veggies inside and on top.

Veggie omelet packed full of delicious vegetables. Jolanda's never disappoints. Good friendly service. Freshly cooked.

Edited 4/9/12: My first time here was a few months ago, for breakfast. Service was great, and I had the breakfast burrito. The food was delicious and the burrito was a decent size. My second time here was this past weekend, and I went for lunch. I walked in, and the waitress was in the middle of running around so I waited by the stand. I didnt realize I was supposed to seat myself. Once she came to me, she seemed a little annoyed that I didnt know that. Once we ordered, I ordered the Reuben sandwich and a diet coke. The diet coke, was a can... and was almost TWO DOLLARS. Woah. My sandwich was not what I expected and did not have a lot of corned beef, and what meat it did have was tough. We asked for separate checks, however did not get them. The service was very slow... maybe a second waitress or hostess or something called in sick, not sure. We went up to pay, and stood at LEAST five minutes while the one waitress / hostess stood and discussed napkin colors with someone who walked in obviously looking for some catering information. Once she got to us, I reminded her we needed separate checks and she took my credit card and ran it for my portion. She then left to go deliver food and take orders. Without returning my credit card and without giving me a receipt. A guy from the back came out finally to help us and give me my credit card back... and run my friends portion of the bill. Seriously, NO THANK YOU. I may try again for breakfast, but Im not sure. I was not impressed with my lunch experience, AT ALL. :( _____ SO delicious! I cant believe I am the first to review this! My parents have been to this place for breakfast many times and have really liked it. I finally was able to get there, I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was really big, and DELICIOUS!!! I cant wait to go back! Definitely a great place to check out!

Food is good. Table service is slow. 4% added for use of credit cards which I am unhappy with.

5 stars for the goma matcha latte and milk bread with crunchy pearls!…read more The goma matcha latte 5/5 had a black sesame paste that was like the black sesame version of smooth peanut butter! One could probably eat it by the spoonful! Such a complex flavor complement to the matcha latte. The matcha latte (4/5) felt fairly strong (I estimate 4g at least), and the mango puree tasted real/ fresh but was nothing special. However, I did like that it was not too sweet. Caveat: I am partial to mango/coconut milk or mango sticky rice matcha lattes. The goma matcha was worth the $8 pricetag. Tip: Matcha Mondays=10% off matcha drinks! The mango one maybe was worth it due to the amount of matcha, but I do feel like I could make it at home. The milk bread ($5.50) was soft, with a delightful bursting sweet cream filling topped with those shite pearly crunchies-- unique and delicious. I also loved the kinako an pan (sweet bread with red bean filling, $5.50) because of the nostalgic flavors, but also because the azuki bean had a nice crunchy sugar quality. It was on the drier side the day after purchase, but I enjoyed it. Service was cheerful and speedy. The space is pretty large with probably as much outdoor seating as indoor, and there were a few open spots at 1:30 on a Monday. Parking was plentiful in the shared plaza lot with some shady spots. I would drive back just for that goma matcha latte!! Also to try a few other breads or for a nice friend date spot to sit outside.

You order at the register and they'll bring your order to you when it's ready. I got the hojicha latte and added sweetener. The flavor was really good but it was all ice and not fully filled the cup. Felt like without ice it would have filled a shot glass. I got the chicken pesto which was delicious. Had great flavor and portion and I enjoyed the salad it came with. The mango cream bread had a good amount of cream and the filling was delicious. The chocolate cookie was good but so hefty. I ordered the matcha cheesecake and original cheesecake thinking it was the soft and fluffy texture but it had a thick consistency. The matcha was good with a very strong matcha flavor and the original had a slight lemon flavor. I enjoyed all the food and sweets here, but a bit disappointed with their drink portion.

The generous portion of small size onion rings were barely warm. Not good at all. Normally, we would have gone back and asked for fresh ones but we eat so few, we let it go. Our drink order never made it on the ticket. We went back and were cheerfully assisted. Finally, the dining room needed attention. Normally, there's an amazing woman constantly cleaning up but neither she nor anyone else was present. There were several messy tables that needed cleaning. Urp. There's something magical about this location that was sorely missing today. The Hat's Pastrami Dips and onion rings are a rare treat but today felt like punishment. We will come back when we start Jonesing for pastrami but don't think it'll be anytime soon. Our arteries may thank us but we are bummed.

Came here last minute as we were nearby! So glad we did as I finally got to try this place…read more My husband got the Pastrami Breakfast Sandwich (no pics as it was so good - he finished it ASAP LOL). With it came some potatoes and those were YUMMY! We're picky on our potatoes as some places either make them too soft or dense. These had a nice crunch and still fluffy in the middle. I got the Strawberry Soufflé Pancakes! It comes with two per order and was very jiggly. The pancakes were soft, fluffy, and airy. The strawberry sauce and cream on top that it comes with added a nice acidity and sweetness. Then to finish it off, some nice actual strawberries. Will come back to try more on their menu!! Service was fast as well and the staff were helpfully on suggestions to try :) Plenty of parking as well in the area as it's in a shopping plaza.

Drinks were good, I would not give the Vietnamese coffee the best review, but it was good, just not great. The food though, excellent!
