This place had so many good reviews that me and my husband decided to try it. When we walked in the people there are so nice and friendly. As soon as we walked in they were very attentive and seated us right away. Very chatty and personable. The place was a small hole in the wall with family pictures of them and the resturant everywhere. I think this place is definitely loved by locals for the service - because they are really nice. Seemed like it's family owned. The reason for the two stars is honestly because the food just is not good. We go out to brunch every Sunday after church and love tasting new places, and I'm sorry to say that this honestly was the worst one. It seemed like someone who doesn't normally cook made our omletes. They were overcooked and cold and the potatoes tasted like they were left overs from the day before. They weren't crispy and soft in the inside - they weren't cooked all the way through. Food is very bland. It just doesn't seem like they have a chief - it's just a family member in the back cooking. It's sad because it looks like a family owned business and I wish their food was good. But it just wasn't. As much as they are so nice and friendly, you're paying a resturant for a good meal and it their food wasn't good. Except for my last visit, I might have given this cute little cafe 4 stars. But during my last visit a friend ordered eggs florentine with no hollandaise. 3 people at the table heard her say it and we saw the waitress note it. The order came out with sauce all over it. My friend sent it back asking (politely) for the sauce to be removed. A different waitress returned the same order and said the kitchen was too busy to remake it. My friends and I eat out a fair amount and none of have ever experienced this. We will not return. read more

Stopped into Laguna Café for breakfast and was met with a genuine warmth the moment I walked in. I'm hoping I remembered the names right, but Leslie and Tammy made the visit feel personal and welcoming in a way that stood out. The Food I ordered the TAM Turkey Avocado and Mushroom Omelette with country potatoes and sourdough. Everything was solid and satisfying, and the side of fruit with cottage cheese worked nicely with my morning coffee. Good food, simple and enjoyable. Ambiance A relaxed neighborhood café feel. Nothing flashy, just an easygoing spot where you can settle in and enjoy a quiet morning. The patio added a nice touch. Service This is where the experience really elevated. Stoped here for lunch - what a treat!! Been wanting to stop here the last couple of visits-it's really close to my Moms place. The menu says they have OC's best burger...well you know I had to order one - Mushroom Swiss and Homemade Chips, it did not disappoint. My burger was prepared exactly as I liked and was delicious and fresh. Mom had a Chili Cheeseburger that I tasted and enjoyed the bites I had - Mom enjoyed it along with her hot fries. The service was spot on and friendly- and the restaurant itself is a fun neighborhood place - the walls pay homage to our military service with photos and mementos framed on the wall. Clearly a neighborhood favorite. I'll be back next month for breakfast..can't wait. read more

The family and I were meeting up with friends who had just moved some of their parents things to the woods. We'd passed this small little restaurant multiple times while driving to the ALDI that's here in this plaza. It's a quaint quintessential mom and pop shop that is definitively a pillar of the community. The wonderful waiting ladies give it their all and it shows in their care and attentiveness. I had the pin up burger while the wife had had the bacon gorgonzola. Both were medium rare, and they both were 'well done' and we devoured the burgers and the homemade chips that evaporated off our plates in minutes. This is going into the rotation of foods down here! Old school diner with giant model airplanes, a lot of marine corps memorabilia. There were balloons tied to chairs to celebrate marine corps 250th bday. The owner was Tammy and one of the servers was Linda. Place has been there for a long time. Everyone is very friendly. Got a chili cheese omelette, short stack pancakes, and bacon onion rings bbq charbroiled cheeseburger. Food was good tasting. Cool experience, nice ambience and decorations. 4.5 stars! Went for lunch on a weekday. Got the Mediterranean omelet which comes with potatoes and toast. The toast came with two different jams. Good portion and very tasty! Apparently Wednesday is meatloaf day - but I was vibing breakfast Sausage and cheese omelet. Good. Cooked well. Not oily. And they have Cholula - a must for a good breakfast. Biscuits and Gravy.
