I live near this Bagels and Brew and go pretty often, while the food is always good it's gotten to the point where if I go now either by myself or with my family we expect for them to screw something up with our order. I really don't know what it is but it seems like the kitchen staff here always screws something up even if you have a simple order for example I went a few days ago for breakfast with my dad I ordered myself a bacon cheddar and potato bowl with no potatoes and scrambled eggs, simple right? I sat at a table with my dad and we waited for our order one of the servers brought his food out but mine was not with her she walked away and my dad recommended I ask them where my order was so I went inside asked and she told me that somehow they messed up my order and had to remake it. Honestly I was not surprised that they messed it up like I said we expect for them to mess something up but messing something up that simple is honestly a bit crazy, I went back outside and the same server brought my bowl out (and by the way I forgot to mention she was the one who took my order) and I noticed that instead of my eggs being scrambled like I requested they were sunny side up. At that point I was just irritated and didn't say anything and ate the bowl. It really is not that hard to double check an order before you bring it out for the person who ordered it I don't understand why the kitchen staff and servers have such a hard time doing that. Unacceptable management and terrible customer service We visited on Sunday, May 17th, for breakfast with family and were deeply disappointed by how this local spot handles a simple order mistake. To be clear, our server--a polite and professional young man--was wonderful. However, our breakfast sandwich came out wrong (made with bacon instead of the sausage we ordered and paid for). When we noticed the mistake a few bites in, we politely asked our server if it could be corrected. A few minutes later, our server returned, clearly embarrassed, to tell us that his manager refused to fix it because "half was eaten." When we asked to speak to the manager directly, she came out with an incredibly unwelcoming, combative attitude. Instead of apologizing for their kitchen's mistake and offering a simple solution, she was extremely rude and argumentative. It is incredibly disheartening to see a local restaurant treat paying customers this way over a minor oversight. While I've grabbed a quick bagel here before, this was my first time visiting during the lunch rush--and wow, it was busy! Seating inside and out was scarce, though I did snag a spot on the patio, which is a really pleasant place to relax and people-watch. I ordered the Bomb French Dip on a French roll with a side of potato salad. French Dips are a personal favorite, so I tend to order them whenever I can--but I wasn't expecting much from a place I had mentally filed under "bagel shop." Let me tell you: this sandwich blew me away. Hearty, juicy, and full of flavor--even before dipping it in the rich au jus. It was simple but executed perfectly. The house-made potato salad was also excellent. If I had to nitpick, the ordering process could use some streamlining. It took a while to make it to the register, and once there, the process was a bit slow. But once you order, service is quick and the staff is polite, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. To start, the food is really good especially the smoothies. However, I've been here many times now, and almost every visit the service is either very poor or my order is incorrect. A couple of months ago, I ordered the Wipe Out smoothie and waited about 30 minutes for it. It turned out they were calling it under the wrong name. One of the workers eventually came up to me and said he had messed up the name, but there was no apology just a melted smoothie. I usually don't get frustrated by things like this because I understand mistakes happen. Unfortunately, something very similar happened again yesterday, which is why this has become so frustrating. The store was basically empty, yet my order was still messed up. At this point, it feels less like a one-off mistake and more like a lack of communication behind the register and general inattentiveness from the staff especially when there's no apology or acknowledgment. Outstanding place I've been coming to on weekends for the four years i have been living here. I review this establishment with a disturbed attitude. The food and the service are extremely good and the staff are great. I've eaten here in the mornings several times and left very satisfied. I was here yesterday morning around 9:30. My usual order is always great. As I relate this, please understand when I go someplace to eat, I go to be quiet and enjoy my meal. 'It's my time.' Yesterday, my meal was interrupted by a table of 5 older adults (70+ yo M&F). One particular loud and obnoxious gentleman continued to discuss his politics and disdain with the new administration. I became very uncomfortable trying to eat my bagel breakfast. Two topics that should not be discussed or forced in public are religion and politics. Just my opinion but... I realize the management of this or any other restaurant exists on their satisfied customer. My meal was disrupted but this gentleman and his loud obnoxious rank. My desire to ask him to lower his attitude and tone was overridden by my belief in he has his right to believe what he chooses. However he made my breakfast time extremely uncomfortable for me and I chose to eat quickly and leave. I will remember this guy by site. The next time I go to have a bagel, when I come in - if I see him I will turn around and leave. It amazes me how one or two people can alter one's time because they choose to be rude, loud, obnoxious, and spread vile information. This is a time to heal and this type of rhetoric does not foster peace and healing. I am not one to complain about something without having a solution. A solution I can think of is to put a sign up in your establishment, saying to please refrain from speaking and loud voices regarding politics or religion. read more

This is Mission Viejo's local breakfast and lunch hang out. Lots of varieties of bagels and cream cheese, but we usually get an omelet or sunrise sandwich. So flavorful! Their lunch menu features fantastic sandwiches and salads. Fresh, generous servings. Closes late afternoon. Four stars instead of 5 because they invariably make minor mistakes on our orders.
