Screenshot of my google review showing the owner's public response to a review I left

I came in genuinely excited to support a queer/lesbian space, and unfortunately I left feeling the opposite. I forgot to close out my tab and the card initially got declined because I had just updated my banking info. Instead of simply re-running the card (which eventually DID go through), the bar decided to search my personal social media and DM me asking for money. Let me be very clear -- a bar tracking down a customer's Instagram profile over three drinks is not normal. In a space that's supposed to be safe, inclusive, and respectful, that level of boundary-crossing felt genuinely invasive. What's worse? They doubled down in their public reply instead of acknowledging how inappropriate it was. Rather than apologizing for searching my social media accounts and contacting me privately, they basically said "well we need people to pay their tabs." No one is arguing otherwise. But resorting to online searching and private social media messages over $60 is absolutely crossing into doxxing territory, and that should never be happening in a queer community space. The fact that they defended those actions publicly made it ten times more unsettling. Huge lack of accountability and zero awareness of how unsafe that behavior can feel to LGBTQ people, especially women. Super disappointed, and honestly alarmed that this was considered acceptable customer service

    The booty wall.

Couldn't have felt even more welcome to come in if someone was literally holding my hand and guiding me! Dammit, what I'm trying to say is that it felt like home!! Feelings of community and belonging for sure present. Jolene is so humble and involved in the crowd and activities, engaging and at the same time enhancing vibes and guest experience! Thank you for being born Jolene! Hella appreciate you and your imagination. You're doing magical things. Shout out to Jose in the kitchen! Holding it down, showing off his culinary skills and importance of a clean kitchen. The tacos are delicious! Such a great price for the quality and presentation! I had no idea! And to top it off we got GRACE over here killing it behind the bar. She's handling 5 jobs with a smile and I can't take it! That's it...I'm coming back and all of yall are getting a raise from the heavens! Make a million beautiful people.

If you plan to have a Girls night out on a Friday, Jolene's bar is definitely the place to be. This was my first time at a queer/lesbian bar and I had such a fun time! The bar staff were super attentive, the dancers were entertaining, and the dance room was packed with all around good vibes. Also, say hello to the beautiful Jolene herself! I am an old colleague of hers and I was surprised she remembered me 6-7 years later. LOL! Gender inclusive environment, reasonably priced drinks, pool table, Sunday brunches, what's not to love!? Queer or not, come support this awesome woman owned establishment!

    Yummmm!

Food & entertainment is amazing here. The shows they put on is amazing. They have like 5 different performers. The vibe is a total turn up. You're never bored. Food is real good as well. The owner is very nice. The setting is dark & club-like. You order by the scan menu on the table.

Oh how I wish this bar existed in South Florida. Just to be surrounded by queer people (mostly lesbians) I went by myself and everyone was very welcoming. My only slight is that the music could be less house music and more variety. But overall, a really great bar, drinks, and tacos. If I lived here, I would make this my local bar.

Been trying to get to Jolene for forever.. i lucked up and had bar sets for the show on Juneteenth.. @womanmonolopysf put the show of all show..burlesque drag.. .. amazing show from start to finish.. it was a vibe a twerked from my seat and everything.. omg I was amazed .. can't wait to come back again... my only down fall was the food .. definitely bar snacks which was fine .. I was expecting more of menu other thanks basic breakfast.. pancakes eggs and bacon.. dnt forget to add your seat number when purchasing from the app... I spilled my drink took over 20 mins to get help and I was sitting at the bar.. it's like the waitress zoned out to just making drinks and not paying attention to people sitting at the bar.. but I definitely come back

I just saw Back In Business, San Francisco native Matthew Martin's amazing cascade of classic characters, from a 70's Susan Hayward to a classic Judy Garland! It was a very well done show. Matthew Martin is amazingly talented and funny. Costumes were on point- well done and easy to recognize the characters he seamlessly transformed into. Loved his witty rapport with the audience as Bette Davis or whatever form he shape-shifted into. The shows have always been amazing and I will go back to see some of them. However, I can't say I'll be back for anything else. I went for Dore Alley Fair. I waited in line an appropriate amount of time no issues there. Paid the entry went it in and ordered a drink. I asked the bartender if he could cash a larger bill that the ATM had given me and he said yes but it may be a lot of 5's, 10's and some 1's. No problem there. The music was good, crowd was good having a great time. After drink three I decided to go out and get some food from the truck that was just outside the club... literally, you opened the door to leave and you are standing in front of the truck. When I went to pay for my food it was then I realized something was not right. I paid and while I waited counted what was in my wallet and I was off by $40. This has happened to me before at Oasis but thought maybe this.. maybe that ... happened and gave the benefit of the doubt. etc... Now it is just before 7:30 pm and I go to enter the club and I am denied. They announce no more entry into the club for anyone ... the club is full. I showed them my stamp and said "but I have a stamp..." They said it didn't matter and closed the door on me, literally. First what is the point of paying and getting a stamp if you can't leave and return, I didn't even go but a few feet away and when I walked out there was still plenty of room in there. Secondly, How is it possible that a club that size is full at 7:30 pm on Sunday even when it id Dore Alley Fair? So while there shows I will go and see because I enjoy them I am not going to pay a door fee, spend $16 per cocktail ($14 + $2 tip) to be treated so rudely and to be ripped off by a bar tender.

We decided to use the portable restrooms outside instead. While we were waiting in line, the outdoor area was closed off. When we tried to return, we were told we couldn't re-enter unless we waited in a very long line and paid admission again. We explained that we only needed to go back inside to retrieve our checked clothes, but we were still told we would have to wait in line and pay a second time. That was completely unreasonable. After some discussion, the staff asked to see our coat check ticket and said one of us could go inside to collect our belongings. However, when I tried to enter, another staff member stopped me and again insisted that I had to wait in line and pay a second admission fee. Eventually, I was allowed to go in, retrieve our clothes, and leave. The lack of communication and coordination among the staff turned what should have been a fun experience into a frustrating one. Better communication and a more reasonable process for guests who simply need to retrieve their belongings would have made a big difference. I will avoid going to the Eagle SF in the future.

Wow. Badlands is either willfully ignorant of this rampant issue or potentially complicit -_- I get that there's always been a bit of a seedy grungy vibe, but the insane amount of pickpocketing at this location is just absurd. All this security and surveillance for WHAAATTTTT PROS: - Cheap and decent drinks - Throwback music + Top 40s always - Staff are super friendly but now IDK if that's a front to lower your defenses - Security line goes pretty fast considering how packed it was CONS: - Not ventilated at all. It's HUMID and the mirrors are fogging up with steam - Need to take a photo before entry for "protection" but this is baffling considering our current administration and LGBTQ safety overall - Very grimy... I hoped they'd improve this since reopening - WELL, the glaring pickpocketing issue lol. The DJ halfheartedly mentioned to watch out for pickpockets mid-set, but by the end of the night, EVERY OTHER GROUP we passed by had someone saying something like "my phone/wallet's gone!", easily 20+ people. Meanwhile, the staff is roughly pushing everyone out with complete disregard to the panic Thankfully I'm able to replace everything with little inconvenience and wasn't too stressed in the moment, but now seeing the other reviews how this has been a regular occurrence for them for years (and targeting women/femmes also...), this is ridiculous. I went to the Sac Badlands for years and nothing like this has ever happened. If you want to risk coming here, present as male or use a phone tether I guess!
