I finally made it to the Jollibee in Wheaton, MD! Like many other people, I wanted to experience their Chikenjoy the opening day/weekend. The long wait on the phone made me rethink that maybe I should wait a week. So tonight was the night. I ordered the 6 piece bucket with gravy, family size palabok and 3 mango peach pies ($35). I've read other reviews for this location and people have mentioned that they felt the food was under seasoned in comparison to other Jollibee locations. I've been to the Va Beach location a few times and I found their food to be on the salty side. The chicken and palabok in the Wheaton location is definitely not salty which is more in line with my taste. The chicken was very crispy and the gravy was a nice compliment. With time, I'm sure they will soon offer the spicy version of their chicken. The mango peach pies were as expected, crispy and full of flavor. A nice finish to the meal. I will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings. Kudos to Jollibee for taking a chance to have a grand opening during a pandemic. read more

I will first say that I will try and be 100 percent honest. There has been a fair amount of hype about Jollibee. I also work with a lot of people from the Phillipines. Through the years we talk about their homeland. Jollibee,s has come up. I went to YouTube and had watched some vids of it and all I could come up with is " interesting". The spaghetti looked kind of odd but the fried chicken looked good and who doesn't like burgers and fries.? So I saw that they had one in Wheaton and I finally went today. Here are my impressions. First though I must say I'm a single guy and I'm not particular. Also, I have worked in Restaurants as a line chef so I do know really good food and really bad food. I went in and here is what I got. 5 piece fried chicken. Large mashed potatoes, a cheese yumburger, the hamburger steak, pineapple drink. Bill was 32.00 . The person taking the order was very nice. The manager there was Filipino and I could tell she was very patient and relaxed. The place was pretty crowded and their staff was doing their rotation of making food and normal hustle and bustle. I liked that you could actually SEE the workers in plain view and I did think "now that is a bit unusual " in the fast food business. While I was waiting I noticed that out of the 3 people who picked up their food all of them were missing something they ordered. Their orders were large though so that might just be new people working together at a very busy pace. Now the food. The cheese yumburger. The bun was warm and reminded me of Macdonald in the 70's. The burger was decently thick and seemed to be cooked differently in z good way. The cheese was decent. The sauce though was like a mayo and ketchup mixture but unfortunately was utterly with out flavor. On think now the burger flavor was reminiscent of a Salisbury steak ala tv dinner style. It also was over 2 dollars. Next the Fried chicken. The pieces were large. I must admit that I was impressed. I tore off a piece of thigh and not only was it juicy it was steamy and the skin was crispy! I bit that piece and went back in with another bit and the hot crispy juicy meter was at an easy 8 out of ten Then it sort of struck me. Where was the big flavor to go with those other wonderful components?. If you could imagine grocery store deli fried chicken that was cooked fresh instead of sitting under the heat lamps for hours that is exactly what we are talking here. Ever eat at Roy Rodgers? Very much along those lines but Jollibee was better. Not wildly better but about the same. The mashed potatoes were the instant kind and I do like instant mashies. And the brown gravy was ok but somewhat hollow. Popeyes or KFC gravy is better. The hamburger steak was again a take on Salisbury steak Stouffer style. It was ok but if I never ate it again I wouldn't have missed nothing. Now the pineapple drink was different in a good way. It was good. So here are my final thoughts. Overall it was way too expensive. The chicken was overpriced. The yumburger was overpriced the whole thing was way overpriced and all in all not great at all based on what you pay. The pineapple drink was good, I really liked it and was the best part of that meal. For what I paid I could have got a bucket of KFC with 2 large sides. Biscuits and a drink. Thats enough for 3 people easy. Would I go back to Jollibee? Being truthful.. no. I get this though. We have a large Filipino population in the states and if this place reminds them of home and how much they miss it, that's cool by me. But I don't see this as being busy because of the hype and once the novelty wears off , so will their sales. Let me start off by saying I absolutely love and enjoy Jollibee, yet my visit today on 08/20/21 @6:30pm was unpleasant. I frequent Jollibee every weekend since the grand opening. I was so happy that there was finally a Jollibee near me, instead of having to drive to VA or NJ. I've experienced the awesome customer service in the Philippines locations, as well here in the States. Unfortunately this location In Wheaton, MD utterly lacks the Jolly Spirt. The woman handing online orders/ dispatching in-store orders was severely rude. She didn't acknowledge my presence as I stood in front of the online order area. I had to speak first and yet still no help for my online order. I waited awhile for her to ask me if I had an online order, but still after a few minutes no words were spoken. After patiently waiting I asked her myself if my order was ready. She then asked for confirmation email, which clearly states you don't have to show any confirmation to pickup your order. Not sure why she singled me out as I observed others weren't asked for their confirmation email. I had my wife go back in to pick-up the order because she had the confirmation code and I couldn't take the horrible customer service. Low and behold, the women also did not acknowledge my wife standing there. Is it too time consuming to greet customers even during busy times? Once I arrived the staff didn't acknowledge me while I stood next to the Online Pick up section, they had to locate the order ticket and asked for my name 3 times. We live an hour away but I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in for a bucket of chicken. They told me it would take 30 minutes but then they said maybe 20 so I ordered and waited. My buzzer never buzzed so after 37 minutes I went to the counter and asked how much longer. They said 9 more minutes. I did not have 9 minutes because I was already late to pick up my son. Who doesn't like fried chicken?! I was in the area with my family and couldn't pass on the opportunity to finally try this popular new place. I counted a total of 15+ employees working efficiently here so they must be pretty busy (Sunday afternoon). There was a consistent line but it moved quickly. The cashier was a pleasant young man that greeted every guest with good manners. The fried chicken came out super piping hot and super crispy which we appreciated but we had to wait impatiently for it to cool down a bit to feed the kiddos. I'm excited that Jollibee has finally arrived at our location. Their fast food is great. We called in the afternoon and we were 100 in the queue. We waited over 2 hours since the estimated time was an hour. We shopped around and had the phone on speaker to spare time instead of waiting around doing nothing. My favorite is the spaghetti that has hotdogs and melted cheese in them. We ordered 4 pineapple quenchers. ( I know). We ordered 2 extra drinks because they tend to put a lot of ice in the cup which takes away the juice. The size of the cup is small. I wish they had a bigger size. We've ordered palabok. That was good too. I also like their mashed potatoes. It tastes way better than KFC's mashed potatoes. I wasn't a fan of the single-patty cheeseburger because when we got them it was cold. I suggest skipping the burger. We ordered 2 mango pies. That was delicious. I'd give it 4 stars because everything was organized except having to wait on the phone for a very long time. The business mission is to bring their food to the world where they are Filipino community presence. I drove 45 minutes to follow the hype, which means I was just visiting, checking it out; won't be a repeat customer - not because it is bad but because I do not eat that much of fast food or buy from restaurants. I discovered Jollibee's Chicken is the best of the fried chicken. It's chicken is the best combination of Popeyes/Church's and KFC. If you want the best of both that is roll into one fried chicken, Jollibee is no doubt will satisfy your fried chicken desire. Then, add a peach and mango pie, a spaghetti with a taste twist because it's semi sweet with a touch of saltiness. Try something native called Palabok, and you'll discover that this Filipino noodles is as to Pad Thai; which noodles would it be to your taste? Wonder no more and Go to Jollibee so you can be in the know of new food or re-introduce your tastebud if you have not have them for a long time. I'm a Jollibee fanatic, so when they announced we were getting one in Maryland I almost had a heart attack. This location is across from Wheaton Mall in the same shopping center with the Giant. My friends and I decided we wanted to order our food Mukbang style (meaning 1 of everything) however they set a limit of $60. Completely fair I might add, the other reviews complaining about the phone queue and the wait are sad. Back to my review, we waited on the phone for about an hour or so and then placed our order to be picked up around 4 hours later. We got a chicken bucket, burgers, palabok, spaghetti, mango pies, fries, mashed potatoes, and pineapple juices. I will only go over the things we were disappointed by (keep in mind the food was very cold by the time we ate it and we were eating outside at a park so we couldn't heat it up. I won't be taking the temperature of the food into account for the review). First the burgers, we really did not like the bun on those burgers. I personally was not a fan of the sauce, it reminded me too much of mayonnaise which I despise. Also, the Palabok wasn't our favorite but it also wasn't the worst. The spaghetti definitely overshadows the Palabok. I think we all agreed the best things were the chicken and the mango pies. I will definitely be going back to Jollibee if the hype ever slows down, but for now I will have to wait. The process was a bit stressful but worth it! read more

first off, let me start by saying that I'm so excited to have a Jollibee in Maryland! we haven't had Jollibee since we've relocated from California, so it was definitely nice to have some Filipino fast food again. since it's the only Jollibee in Maryland, I understand the abundance in people calling and trying to place their orders, so the wait was a bit long but I was #11 in the queue and was able to get answered fairly quickly. I placed my order and it was scheduled to be picked up 2 hours after. Please do something about this flag carrier. Create a taste test with Filipino as well as American if you don't want to have the original/authentic Jollibee flavor. I did not taste the highlight of tinapa and shrimp flavor from the palabok. What I found out is the very light flavor of pork. There is no need to use any toppings as long as there is the basic flavorings. About the chickenjoy, other prominent chicken like bonchon has the crust that is flavorful but the meat itself has bland flavor too. Brining may help adding flavor. read more
