Almost 9 bucks for a cheese burger ,I was afraid to ask for anything else,dang.it's definitely not worth going here.It was great in the 90's etc..,the mexican restaurant a few buildings over is the go to spot.my buddy ordered 15 dollar corn burritos that were awful,,my burger was tiny as well.now you know ,be prepared to open your wallet extra wide for small portions if you're eating here.they should just tear the place down and build something else.etc...... read more

I wanted to like this place. Food was not good. Should have taken more pictures, but I had a Ortega cheeseburger that was really dry and very hard to eat because of that. My daughter had fish and chips that looked sad with two tiny pieces of fish. I also ordered fried mushrooms. I did take a picture of that. The breading was so thick that it was doughy and sticky inside. This made the mushrooms slimy, my daughter tried it and she couldn't eat it. She said it reminded her of a slug. But what really sealed the no deal for me was trying to charge me $.50 for a cup of water after leaving over $40 there (+tip!) Service was meh. GETTING HERE: Navigate to the address listed here on Yelp. I am not too familiar with the ins and outs of Ojai and this located off the path (at least in my opinion). Jolly Kone is located on the corner of South Lomita and West El Roblar Drive. Directly across the street from A-1 Mart. REVIEW: So good! Such great tasting food. First-timer and will be visiting again v soon, actually probably sooner than soon. :) I am so thankful for Yelp for showing me places I never knew of otherwise! We ordered: Chocolate shake, Zucchini fries, Turkey sandwich, and Corn Burritos with cheese. I will search for better vocabulary terms to describe how great tasting their food is! The Corn Burritos with cheese actually stole the entire show. The added cheese was perfect! The young lady who took my order was super friendly. Was patient with me while I asked all the things about the food because their menu is HUGE. That alone warrants another trip because there's ^more food I need to try here. I loved the vibe of this place, too. There are tables and chairs under big umbrellas where you can eat your food (if you choose) as you order from a walk-up window. YUM YUM YUM!!!! I ordered the pastrami burger, chicken wing combo, cheeseburger, and corn borritos. Absolutely delicious! Everything. Lynn was the cashier, and she was a sweetie. She had the kindest smile as soon as I stepped up to order confused because I didn't know what to get at first. The outdoor seating with the umbrellas was just perfect, even on this warm day. This was a random find while we were visiting Ojai. The double cheeseburger was much better than we expected. We have never heard of corn burritos but we had seen them on several menus around the area so we decided to order some. They were okay. We're still not sure what is in them. Ha! They're smothered in what we think is marinara sauce or ketchup with cheese melted on rolled corn tortillas. Can't believe it took me so long to try this burger place in my neighborhood. I've only heard good things about it. A classic outdoor burger stand style shop. A wide variety of food to choose from. I try not to eat here once a week, but my wife and I sometimes can't help ourselves. "Wanna get Jolly Kone?" Often ends with me getting an Ortega Burger, and my wife getting a BLT. Sometimes it's crowded and sometimes there's someone in front of you in line whose clearly ordering for a big group. I wouldn't even rate this a 1 I have been here ever since I was little and ever since they have sold it to new people there has been hair constantly in my food. The meat is uncooked they do not wear hairnets. They barely wear gloves and they do not wash their hands constantly as they're supposed to. I have asked numerous times. for a refund because it is simply disturbing to eat food. And the workers do not comply and they constantly kept hanging up on me and two workers were telling me two different things and would not give me my refund. I was being very respectful because I've worked in food services myself, but ever since the new owners, Jolly kone has gone downhill with their food. They need to have a food inspection. they told me they wanted to remake my meal, but I had told them I would not want another meal because I was disgusted with what I had found in my food again they've been proceeded after that to say they will not give me a meal and will not refund me my money. All I had asked them was to refund my money because this is the third time this is the 3rd time this has happened to me. I had threw away all my food due to the fact that it was uncooked and There had been in my food. I had called them three times and they did not answer. then I had called Them the next day in the morning and they did not answer two times again they answered on the third call and then proceeded to argue with me after I was being respectful, I've had many others have problems with Jolly kone and I'm not the only one I would not recommend going to this place because it is very unsanitary. read more
