This is a decent place for a quick junk food stop. The staff is usually pretty friendly but they do move at an Ojai-like pace. I usually get some kind of sandwich and a milk tea. Don't be surprised to be surrounded by teenagers making an after school stop. read more

Always super good food and friendly service! I've had everything from Burgers, to corn burritos. The philly cheese steak is pretty hearty, so come starving if you choose that. The passion fruit slushy has a ridiculous amount of flavor! Overall, I definitely recommend and am looking forward to trying more items. The corn burritos, fries, burgers, shakes, and shaved ice here are so good. Our family has been coming here for like... as long as I can remember, seriously like 30 years or more at this point. They change hands every so often, but right now everything is perfect. They even have outdoor seating with every other table blocked off and umbrellas to shield the sun so it's safe and comfortable. read more

One word sums it up....grease And stale grease to boot. Used to be pretty good about 15 years ago. These are NOT great burgers or fries & I agree with Aaron O, the burgers are mediocre at best. Taquitos weren't even drained and all greasy. Kitchen person was texting and on cell phone while frying!! Picked up the taquito and it was dripping! ewwwwww. Lol...they are not very friendly either. Need to drain their fried foods better and change the oil more often. read more

I love this place. I have been here numerous times from our bike rides. We have had their chicken wings and pastrami. The best! We treat ourselves to dessert which is their yummy ice blended boba drinks. This place never disappoints us. To top it off prices are so reasonable if you are on a budget. read more

I haven't been here since I was a teenager begged my mom to take me in my recent visit back home. Just as I remembered it to be!! I'm not sure if it's the nostalgia or the goodness that oozes out of the food straight into your belly or the awesome outdoor seating or friendly service that makes jolly mine exciting. It could be that it's been around for ions, or it's just a local hole in the bar fried food joint but all of it combined makes it fantastic. Taquitos r a must when you visit. Filled plenty with meat and topped with what your heart desires. I'd order :0 they're that tasty. A few other items are scrumptious but those are the best. Private parking lot that gets full quick was easy accessible and plenty of seating. Can't wait to go again read more

We were told to go and try Jolly Kone for their burgers . So we went there today for a burger (one beef and one garden). My wife really liked the cheese burger and I thought the garden burger was the best I've had at a burger joint. The service was friendly and quick. Food is good. Ive been eating here since I was a child, although owners have changed since then, most of the original food has stayed pretty consistent. The only differences to my usuals are the fried zucchini is not as great, and I feel like there is something different about the fries, still good though. But they continue to nail it with the corn burritos! Highly recommend. I'm sure if you ask anyone in town what the best item is there and corn burritos seems to be the favorite, no place does it as great. I recently tired the boba tea, also awesome. & the soft served ice cream & shakes go good with the burgers. I also really enjoy the outside seating. Jolly Kone in a tradition in our family. This eatery has gone through several different owners, but one thing has always remained the same, the menu. If I have to nitpick about anything , it would be their fountain drinks, they've always been atrocious as they are weak tasting with little to not carbonation. The other thing would be the soft serve ice cream comes out yellow and rather grainy. Now on to what I love about Jolly Kone Corn Burritos were the food of kings when I was growing up and summertime would not be the same without a weekly trip up to Meiners Oaks to get these tasty treats. Everyone has their preferences in how they are prepared some enjoy the cheese and hot sauce route, but our family preferred them topped with Cheese and ketchup. They also have a killer Avocado Bacon Burger that is killer good, but I just can't help myself I always order my corn burritos because they are hard to find in Ventura County. In fact I emphasized the need for Corn Burritos to my friend who is running a snack bar at her kids baseball park. I might need help. lol. read more

My boyfriend is from Ojai and has raved about Jolly Kone. I finally tried it, and it was delicious. I ordered the bacon avocado burger. I've never had avocado on a burger before, and it was indeed a great decision. The creaminess of the avocado was perfect with the very fresh tasting onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. The bacon was crunchy, and the tasty patty was the right thickness. The burger had that homemade flavor like something you would get at a family barbecue. The fries and onions rings were very good too. There are free refills. It's a little place and I believe it's cash only. The prices are reasonable since everything is made to order and hot. read more

Our daughters wanted burgers, but our original choice was closed, so we opted for Jolly Kone not expecting much, but what a pleasant surprise!! The burgers we delicious and juicy lots of flavor, my daughter had a hot dog, which she said was really good and said they used good flavorful hot dogs. My hubby tried the corn burritos and really liked them. Daughters got shakes and said they were yummy! Cute little out side mostly shaded area to eat. And nice friendly staff. Very good find!! We keep coming back whenever we can get up to Ojai! A real step back in time the whole street is just crazy cute! So far everything we have tried is really good! The pastrami sandwich is full of flavor, the burgers are real juicy but well cooked, fries are really good and so are the corn burritos! I had to try the tacos the last time we were there after reading about them and wish I had just had those! The shells are so light and crispy and the ground beef is really good! I have to say, though, I like the corn burrito sauce on it better than the taco sauce. Anyway, always a fun place and will definitely be trying other things out, but hard to decide what because I already crave the tacos and burgers now!! Pure nostalgia. Nothing here would impress anyone that didn't grow up with it. It's changed ownership since "the good ole days," but I will say that new ownership has done a good job preserving the favorites. The bacon cheeseburger is good, not the best in town, but does the job. The Corn Burritos are what most (if not all) locals tack on to every order. It sounds mundane...a refried bean filled, deep fried corn tortilla covered in a mild red sauce topped with shredded cheese. For those that aren't from Ojai it will taste exactly as it sounds. For those that did grow up here, it tastes like childhood. Other than that, I rolled the dice on a pastrami sandwich a few times and was pleasantly surprised. The opportunity is there for this place to be like something you'd see on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives, but there is nothing unique enough about the food. While I'm glad to see them being true to their predecessors, it would be awesome for Jolly Kone to turn up the culinary creativity and create some quality niche menu items to keep up with the rest of the world. read more

Cute little hole in the wall type restaurant. The hamburgers we had were fantastic. Veggies were fresh and crunchy from the lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and the bacon was just perfect. Tucked in between El Roblar Dr. and Lomita is a small, little eatery that has the most addicting, charbroiled hamburgers in Ventura County. Jolly Kone is a nice place to sit down and enjoy a great burger, fries and a milk shake (or a malt, if you prefer). Prices are reasonable, but their store hours change from day to day. Sometimes they'll be closed on weekend afternoons and sometimes they'll be closed around dinnertime on weekdays. It's definitely fun to bring the family along. read more

This place has been here forever! It is a small building stand on a corner with some outside seating/ It used to be a hole in the wall but has gotten nicer. Last time I was there I got corn burritos but they are not as good as others because they use jack cheese as the topping. They are a good stop for fast food. read more

A friend who recommended Jolly Kone in the past told me that, after changing hands, the service here has gone down hill. He's right. The people behind the counter were more interested in visiting with co workers behind them than making sure the soft drink I ordered was served up.
