Definitely coming back to this place. Tried it out because my friend is vegan. Let me clear, I am a newbie to trying vegan food. You should have zero expectations and not compare the food to whatever original dish it is trying to emulate because you will disappoint yourself. It will not likely taste like the classic dish, but it should still be delicious. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Did it taste like a cheesesteak? No. Was it damn delicious? YES! They also have smoothies, desserts, and what kind of looks like Jamaican beef patties, but of course, no beef, but lots of variety of fillings. I want to come back to try the curried chickpea. The fish patty was just ok. Order at the counter and pick a table. No tap water, so bring your water bottle or purchase a beverage. Service was great and the food made me want to come back. Beautiful restaurant with amazing decor. There's a lot of street parking as well as a parking lot just up the block. Several tables to dine in. There's also a nice park across the street. I got there in the evening, so there weren't many options, but what I did get was pretty good. Kale, a pasta dish. ginger vegan chicken and rice. I also bought a mango moss drink and a lentil patty. The next time I'm in the area, I want to get there early because they typically have several options available. They also have all natural health and beauty items. Rarely does one get to experience vegan food the way Jolo's does it. Layers of seasoning steeped in cultural undertones that can't be missed. The vibe in store is chill and as Rasta as it gets in New Rochelle. DEFINITELY check out the OG glam school desk as you walk in. HOT TIP: If you stare at the desk for a while in search of schoolhood nuggets of glam, it makes the sometimes extended wait time go by like its nothing. read more

Impressive vegan restaurant in a casual comfortable setting - there are armchairs and sofas to relax and hang out while you enjoy the delicious vegan food - I tried the buffet - which offers eight or more dishes to choose from. Fresh varied dishes and each one was yummy! Then I had two of the Jamaican patties - chick pea mash and potato . Ideal comfort food - while I was sitting enjoying my meal, they did a brush trade in takeaway with regular customers picking up orders. Will definitely return read more

Jolo is a neighborhood staple it has moved locations. It's not located in New Rochelle right on the same street as the library - it's still fantastic. The owner is dynamic amazing and personable. The food is all vegan. It's all delicious and if you didn't know it was vegan you wouldn't know it was vegan! It is so delicious. I Introduced my niece to and my nephew who is nine- and he ate his burger without knowing it was not a meat burger and did not even mention it.. It's a great way to add vegan to your diet and still enjoy a delicious meal. Try the juices too- which are made fresh with all natural ingredients. Absolutely outstanding. read more

I have been enjoying Jolo's food for many years, including at their previous location. The owner was always warm and friendly to my family and food is healthy, delicious and flavorful. However I was disappointed that the new location no longer has table service. It's really a takeout place now. Confused we sat down and nobody offered to help us. Our food was served in take out plastic trays and with plastic cutlery. The salad we ordered was forgotten and never received. The food is still the same hearty and wonderful dishes we have always enjoyed, but we came on a Friday night for a date night out and experience was lacking. read more

Visited during our "shelter in place". After a week diet of eating only veggies and no carbs I decided to treat myself. & babyyyy this was the best decision I made all week. I started visiting Jolo's when they were on North Ave. When they moved, I thought they closed down. I happened down Lawton Street and could not believe my eyes when I saw the sign. I parked and went in and ordered. Made me realize how much I have missed them. Been back and will continue to visit. The food is wholesome and well prepared. Owner is very nice, as is the girl behind the counter who helped us one weekend. Had a meal that allows you to pick three different options and also had a Jamaican patty. While driving with my vegetarian husband, we figured we wanted food more than shopping! (shout out to Siri!) So we asked for a rec'! We were so excited to find a VEGETARIAN restaurant! My hubby thought it might be a hole in the wall and I reasoned those have THE BEST food! Now while it isn't a hole in the wall, it's not a big space! Jolo's makes up for it with the food! Chik'n Stew, spinach, kale & spinach plates, with the Jerk Tofu, Ackee, Split Pea patties!!!! YEAH BABY!!! not only that, the door opened and closed so many times it was crazy... OMGGGGG THE SPLIT PEA PATTIES.... I DON'T EVEN LIKE SPLIT PEAS!!! So let me start by saying; THIS GEM IS SO HIDDEN I WISH I CAME SOONER!!! It was my First time here and I was brought there by a good friend of mine. I chose the pick 4 and got the curry "chicken", ginger"chicken " , kale and some dish with mushrooms and I think spinach cAnt remember. Now, I am more or less a pescatarian(mainly eat fish) and I do eat certain foods that are meat based(working on it but Covid made me stick to meat) . Anyway I got those along with the chicken(not sure if it's actual chicken or not but dammit it was delicious! ) chicken and hummus wrap it has hummus, breaded chicken, cucumbers and some lettuce or something. The guy there was so sweet and made me feel right at home. He welcomed us and was just the sweetest man ever while I took my time trying to figure out what I wanted. Needless to say I'm glad I made the choices I did and glad I came! The food was so fresh and you can taste the reAl ingredients not that over processed shyt, the place was super clean, they wore masks and provided hand sanitizer. He carefully explained the juices they served and the dishes they had available. Again; I AM NOT VEGAN!!! And I still enjoyed the food very much! I brought some home and let me say my daughter loved it all! My husband enjoyed the wrap and my picky son even liked the ginger "chicken" even though he hates veggies. I will be back very soon to try more! Thank you so much for the hospitality and the delicious Vegan food for my first time . P.S I have to take a picture of my wrap I'll post it tomorrow. read more

This is a gem that doesn't look bright and shiny on the outside but a burstful ofgastronomic delight indide. Fresh, full of flavor vegan dishes. You feel whole and healthy. I love my meat but this food makes me want to jump over the line into veganism!!!! A family run business, met Jolo's son on a return visit and this fabulous boricua/Haitian mix was charming, informative and incredible server. I felt like I was an unexpected dinner guest. Being of a similar background, that Caribbean love for people and food was apparent. This is NOT a place to miss! I found it searching for a vegan restaurant when family was visiting from out of town (drove them from Manhattan to this gem) and then had to be a repeat spender after my Westchester meetings. Ate here a couple times after reading the reviews on yelp and I must say that everything the people rave about is true. Delicious food. Great service really cool vibes. Tried the ribs with rice and spinach and man it did not disappoint. As a matter of fact while writing this review I just decided I'm going there for dinner today :-) O and they have a bar. I love this place. Having an entirely vegan place locally has been a godsend. It's a buffet, so you get to choose the number of items you want and they make your plate, either eat-in or to go. The greens are great, when they have mac and cheese, it'll make your day. Their patties are amazing... The lentil one is my favorite. Even their desserts are wonderful. As soon as you enter, there is an incredible aroma of delicious vegan food that draws you in. I went there with a friend for the first time a couple of months ago. The young lady who works the counter has such an adorable smile, you can't help but feel welcomed. The food is also just so fresh and delicious. I couldn't get enough. Oh!
