I was very excited to try the new flavors of soft serve but will not be giving them my business, so many better ice cream places on the Cape that treat their patrons with respect and don't mislead them.

Today at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon, I was on the search for a bagel shop that had Lox (a bagel with salmon, capers, red onion, and cream cheese). I called Jo Mama's in the South Yarmouth location to see if they carried a bagel like this. I was greeted cheerfully on the phone and made my way to the shop immediately after to retrieve my lunch. While walking in, the first thing I heard was Jamaican music. I loved the cultural vibe and the eye-catching orange walls. I chose "The Scotia" bagel and, to my surprise, I received a cash discount for paying with cash instead of a card. Once I got my bagel, I made my way back to my car to enjoy it. Unfortunately, the bagel was a bit harder than I imagined it to be. This could be because the shop opens early in the morning. Although, the overall taste of my bagel choice was excellent. I ordered today's special which was a honey turkey sandwich with avocado, it came with a medium drink and bag of chips for $9.00.The sandwich was huge! We love JoMama's - have been patrons ever since it opened (via the original owner). The staff is always friendly - the waits can get very long especially over the summer but it's usually worth the wait. The bagels are great (albeit on the small side) and it's nice to find NYC bagels on the Cape (we're from the NYC area). Wide variety of options. Very bohemian feel. read more
