Loved all of the vegetarian and vegan options here. Our family of 6 was lucky to grab the only decent sized table. The food was made super quickly and was delicious. I had the feel good on a pumpernickel bagel, my husband had the la bomba, and the kids had multigrain bagels with strawberry cream cheese. The space is tiny so more of a grab and go place. So much better than waiting 2 hours for breakfast like we did at a nearby restaurant. read more

If you are jonesing for some real New York bagels- you have found the place! Come to the heart of Orleans for tasty bagels imported straight from Queens. The only downside to this place is that the bagels are not fresh, as they have to be shipped. Though without this they would lose their NY novelty. I love this place. How did we not find this before when we went to the cape? It's now a staple in the family cape cod week every year. I get the "Scary Mary" on a garlic or onion bagel with an egg added to it! Amazing! My sister gets the ABC bagel sandwich on a garlic bagel. The prices for the sandwiches are reasonable but I would go elsewhere for anything coffee.. the prices are high and the coffee is a little strong. I am glad they have an option to add almond milk. I seriously love this place. It is the most unpretentious and friendly coffee joint in town. The sandwiches are so creative and always made with fresh ingredients. I usually get some sort of veggie creation or a BLT with soy bacon. Oh yes, all you vegetarians out there, they have soy sausage and bacon, and tofu cream cheese!! I don't know about you, but that's the kind of stuff I get excited about! You can eat at one of their little tables or take it to-go and eat it outside on the "porch" swing. You always see someone you know (can be good and bad!) and the staff always treat you like they know you, whether they do or don't. Also, you don't have to stand in line like cattle until the impatient cashier calls, "NEXT" and you are pressured into ordering as fast as possible...like the place down the street, appropriately named after an annoying little bird :) read more

I am a local and go here regularly year-round. JoMamma's gets 5 stars as a coffee and sandwich shop, that also sells excellent soups. Their coffee and mochas are very good. I love their sandwiches - very creative, fresh and delicious. They also have these excellent salad wraps which use romaine lettuce as the wrappers. great place to get quick bagel breakfast with good coffee or a smoothie. bagels are yum and toppings are fresh and interesting. i always get multi-grain with cream cheese and tomato. only wish they toasted the bagels a bit more. they are still pretty cold and doughy. also why no cream cheese on both sides? always just one super thick slab of cream cheese on one side, and then sad dry lonely side has nothing. help. i actually prefer this place for their sandwiches. great unique assortment of signature sandwiches or make your own. turkey here is very good and i enjoy all the veggie options for toppings including cucumber, sprouts, avocado etc. stop off and pick some up on the way to beach! read more

Oh sadness when you advertise a New York bagel but don't deliver it. To those that treasure the NY bagel borderline religiously, that can only mean one thing, and this wasn't it. No soft, fluffy inside with a shell outside. Not much flavor. Just a basic, mediocre bagel. I will say the salmon, cream cheese, capers, and red onion were delicious. But the star of the show was clearly an understudy. We also ordered a gluten free bagel as part of our group order, and I just felt sad when it was opened. You could tell by looking at it that it wasn't going to be good. I'm not saying that to be mean - in total fairness to Jo Mama's, a good bagel relies heavily on gluten to be what it is, so I was curious how the promise of a GF bagel would deliver, but blech - it did not. It was cardboard. If it didn't have cream cheese on it, it would have been inedible. Sorry folks- this isn't the place for bagel lovers. read more

Quick and simple! For a Sunday morning we were in and out with 3 sandwiches to go within 15 minutes, and with the line backed up to the door that was impressive. I appreciate the use of boar's head meat and cheese products and what definitely seem to be homemade bagels! My friend raved about her rainbow bagel and my whole wheat with bacon egg and cheese AND sriracha butter (which could've been spicier, but they have a whole list of other delicious sounding sauces that I should've picked from instead) the sandwich itself could also had a little more cheese but all in all it hit the spot! We aren't coffee drinkers but everyone else seemed to be enjoying their cup, it's a comes black add your own sugar and milk kind of set up. Overall a solid stop and will be coming by again the next time we get to visit the cape! read more

Yes, expect a line if is a holiday weekend. Yes, expect them to run out of what you want if it is a holiday weekend and you do not get there early enough. Check your order before you leave to make sure is it right and all yours before you leave, they are busy and doing their best, does not hurt to help them out! Came here July 4th morning and had a lovely experience, the shop is super cute and there is a great selection of food there ranging from breakfast items to more lunch type items. I use Jo Mama's often. The coffee is a fresh roasted Beanstock variety, that is roasted just down the road in Eastham. The order takers are under fire as the place always has a line, but they are quick, efficient and take orders, take the money and move on to the next. I like the La Bamba breakfast sandwish with a nice chipolte mayo added for a little "kick". I ask for xtra and its always never an added charge. Im not a big bagel person, but apparentl;y they are a NY style, boiled off premises and delivered to jo Mamas, and I see a huge variety. I had a Lox and capers sandwich on an onion one a while back and it was good. The little cinamon rolls are quite good as well. My family and I drove over an hour to come get bagles and other vegetarian breakfast foods while on vacation this weekend. Since they advertise that they are vegetarian/vegan friendly I assumed the staff of three working at the time would know what was vegan and what was not. When I got to the counter I told the girl that I would like a couple of bagles with vegan cream cheese for my daughter and I. I smiled and said we were vegan and happy to find a place to eat. Do you have these today, I asked her? She said they have tofu, yes. Confused, I said no, I dont want tofu on my bagels but the soy cream cheese you offer on your website. She just looked at me so I started to talk again and asked if they had the flavored today that was on the website. I said I thought it was a chive flavor, maybe? So she points up at the menu and says, yes, we have all kinds of flavored cream cheese and looks at me like Im an idiot. I assumed we were still talking about their soy cream cheese we had been since the beginning of our conversation! I told her not regular cream cheese but the vegan flavors. She just looked at me so I told her, nevermind, please just get me two plain bagles with plain vegan cream cheese. Stupid me, looking at their bins of bagels in the back, I asked her if any of the flavored ones were vegan as well. I would love to try another flavor other than plain. She said we do have an egg bagel. What?? I dont want an egg bagle, I said. (I was thinking at this point that she didnt know what vegan meant.) I would like a flavored bagel, like blueberry, but I would like to know if they are also made vegan like your plain bagles. Im assuming at this point because my order was not yet finished, a man from the prepping station came to the register and said he was pretty sure none of their bagels were vegan. I wanted to cry. My husband took a step forward and said that at least the plain were being advertised as being vegan. Bagels arent normally made with dairy or egg. Was he sure? The guy just shrugged and walked back to where he was making food. There was also another woman working that came to the register at the same time as the man and also kind of agreed with what he was saying. At this point I was embarrassed and just asked for the two plain bagles, plain TOFU, and could I have also have a fruit and granola cup. Not paying attention I walked out with the, Im assuming, dairy yogurt, mixed into the bottom of my fruit and granola. I couldnt tell if the cream cheese was vegan or not. And, honestly, it made me angry that I bought food from a place that advertises being vegan friendly and I didnt feel safe that what they sold me was vegan food. When I asked for a fruit and granola cup it either wasnt written down properly or it just wasnt paid any attention to by the worker that made my food. I never asked for yogurt in my order. It wont kill me to eat dairy, no, but what if someone goes there and just may NEED to know what is in their food. The employees here didnt know and thats wrong. Though the vegan pickings for food is oh so small here on the Cape, we will not be back to this place. read more

We found a new place for coffee in the Cape! I loved this place! Their coffee was awesome...I usually just got hazelnut with skim milk....but their breakfast sandwiches and bagels with crazy cream cheese flavors is where they shine! I had the same breakfast bagel twice because it was gloriously chock full of veggies and melt-y cheese! The first day I had it on the sundried tomato bagel and the second on the Aziago bagel..the sundried bagel ruling out. The third day I tried the blueberry bagel with maple cinnamon cream cheese and finally the multi grain bagel with the smoked mozzarella and sundried tomato cream cheese. Everything was amazing!! Best bagels in town and maybe anywhere. Excellent staff that is efficent friendly and local! This unique place is a little difficult to find but next to a real estate office, head shop, cape tire, and just tucked in the middle. Don't let the line scare you as they process order quickly. Great selection of various bagels and spreads and although I haven't had a sandwich from there for lunch - I understand that they are tops. This place has a mix of surfers, contractors, artists and tourist but as with other really good Cape establishments it's busy year-round. Got to tell you something. read more

Yummy! I love Jo Mama's. It is the only bagel place that I can think of that offers tofu cream cheese. My favorite morning sandwich is a toasted H&H bagel with tofu cc, sprouts, cucumbers and avocado. Yum. They also make any type of veggie sandwich that you want. As a vegan, I was pretty disappointed in this place. You shouldn't advertise yourself as being vegan if there are no vegan sandwiches even on your menu. I was surprised when I saw there wasn't a single vegan item on the menu, unless you did a "build your own" sandwich -- at $6.50, with a choice of only 3 veggie toppings, i could only build a boring sandwich of iceburg lettuce, tomato and avocados. i also had soy cheese on it, which was a great option, but i could have made that at home, for free. The size of the sandwiches were rather small too, and did not include any sides. Nothing special at all about this place if you are vegan. The sandwiches on the menu sounded fabulous -- it's too bad they don't offer vegan versions of all the menu items. When i eat out, i like to find itemes that i can't just whip up at home cheaply and easily. I want something that's worth the money i'm paying, and this place did not do it for me. Also, the individual bags of chips were selling for $2.50! So you might want to bring your own chips. :) read more

My first visit to Jo Mama's was 2012 and found it to be excellent. Great NY style bagels, fresh eggs cooked to order and fresh ingredients. Fast forward to August 2013. Bagels are now small and light. The eggs are preformed and stored in a steamer type bin. I ordered the western bagel sandwich and thought I might get some fresh veggies cooked with the eggs. Instead a mushy paste of onions and peppers was spread on top of the preformed egg patty. . YUK!!!! Coffee is still excellent and will be my only purchase in the future. The only thing I can assume is the business was sold and the new owner is reducing costs. Well with food like this the food costs won't be the only thing that reduces. I suspect revenue will be down as well after customers experience the less than mediocre quality. read more
