I've never left a review but this place made me get an account to. The owner (I assume) HUNG UP ON ME on the phone after I called inquiring about the hours because the signs were FALSE advertising saying they would be open today. Terrible organization clearly and one door was open which I went in the store when there was NO ONE THERE. I owner who RUDELY HUNG UP ON ME waltzes in there in flip flops not a care in the world and I point out the false advertising he said "yeah we will try to open later" yet leaves up the signs advertising that it is open. I was very excited to try the new flavors of soft serve but will not be giving them my business, so many better ice cream places on the Cape that treat their patrons with respect and don't mislead them. read more

Friendly service, great flavor variety (coffee Oreo!!) plenty of seating both inside and out. Add to that mini golf across the street and a kitschy souvenir shop next door and you have got a new favorite! read more

Best ice cream I had on the Cape. Vast variety of flavors. 24 different types of soft-serve, which is pretty awesome. But I didn't do that. I did ice cream, which also had several yummy flavors to choose from--classics and crazy funky varieties. Specifically, I went with one of their AWESOME sundaes. This isn't like most "sundaes" that consist of a couple scoops, some toppings, and whipped cream. This thing arrived in a freaking giant plastic cup. I got the PB&J, which was blackberry ice cream with peanut butter sauce, blueberry sauce, and graham cracker pieces. Holy god. The thing was about a foot tall and I. Ate. The. Whole. Thing. The amazing quality of the ice cream and the awesome creativity of the sundaes could have been enough. The friendly service and reasonable prices could have been enough. But... BUT... they have a 99 cent sundae just for dogs. Vanilla soft serve with doggie treats. I have a dog, and I'm insane about her. She can't come to the Cape, and it breaks my heart. So any place that is so above and beyond nice to dogs wins in my book. Recommend Mandy's with all my heart! Keep it up and I'll see you next year! WASHASHORE UPDATE: I live here now (take that Auntie Zoe, with your fancy summer home that doesn't allow dogs!), and as soon as Mandy's opened, Joe and I took Scylla on an ice-cream date. The guy at the counter didn't make the doggie sundae right; he put bits of waffle cone on the soft-serve instead of doggie treats (maybe they were out? Joe told me not to complain about it.) I cannot describe Scylla's absolute delight when we all sat down at one of the lovely little tables, under a big umbrella, Joe with his Funky Monkey sundae, I with my PB&J, and then handed HER a little sundae all her own! There's just something fun about seeing kids with ice cream all over their faces. I had as much fun watching the kids, as I did eating the ice cream. When was the last time you enjoyed your ice cream so intensely you just got it all over your face and your arms and your shirt and didn't care at all??? We went to the outside window and got a "special sundae" for about $7 served in a tall plastic cup and shared it. It was a "Gimme S'More" sundae with graham cracker ice cream, graham crackers, fudge, marshmallows, marshmallow sauce, etc. We appreciated the nod to Britney Spears in the name, as well as the hot mess of the sundae itself. It wasn't cheap, but it also was something I couldn't have created on my own at home, so I respected that. I saw they have "deep fried macaroni and cheese" on their food menu... i may have to go back for that... also they had a lunch special of a footlong hot dog, fries, and a soda for $5.99 that seems like a pretty good deal. What could be better? Well, the outdoor seating area is pretty much carried over from Friendlys of a generation ago.. it could use a little updating. More garbage cans outside please. And a place to get your own cup of water to wash down the icecream, without having to go inside and ask for it, would be nice.. Funny moment: wife instructing husband to come get her at the souvenir shop next door when the kids were done with their ice cream. He so automatically responded "yes dear" with patient good humor that several of the men on the patio choked back laughter. We've all been there. read more

Mandy's Cape Creamery - "Gimme S'More" Sundae - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

I will keep this as about as short as possible for ice cream joints at the Cape. Folks the ice cream that they were so pround of was nothing to be too proud of. My wife got the mint chocolate chip soft serve ice cream that tasted so artificial that it tasted like medicine to her and she complained of a headache the rest of the night (she loves ice cream too so strange) My son even said his was ok but he threw away half of his strawberry cone that he got from teh expensive menu as a gourmet selection and I really was not the largest fan of mine also outside of the balls of cookie dough in mine in the bottom. If you are looking to enjoy the ice cream feel while on vacation I just would not recommend this place due to taste, flavor and the service was also not that great so, next summer we will go somewhere else i think. read more

What a hidden gem! Been coming to the cape since I was little and just tried Mandys for the first time yesterday. Party of 7 we got a few sundaes, a few samplers and a cone! Highly recommend the Pistachio - it is the best I've had in years! We all agreed we will make Manaus a must stop in the future. read more

I ordered the chocolate thick shake and it was rich and delicious, just like it should have been. It was the perfect treat after a round of mini golf across the street, and you get 10% off if you show them your score card. That being said, the service left something to be desired. There were five in my group and we were the only people in line when we arrived. We stood around looking at the menu for a little bit, and then each of us proceeded to tell the people at the counter what we wanted. One person in my group ordered some kind of sundae that came with two toppings, although he didn't know that. When he was informed, he said "oh, OK" and looked over at the choices. The lady at the counter rolled her eyes and made an impatient noise. This attitude proceeded throughout the rest of the group's order. I do not think we took unnecessarily long at all. It just takes a few minutes to get through five different people's orders with toppings and other specifications. Our orders were also made at different times. I agree with bringing out ice cream at different times because it melts, but other the people's ice creams were made before our group's got all of ours. This means that by the time the last person got their ice cream, the first (and second) person to get theirs was already done. Reading other reviews, this seems to be an anomaly, so maybe this person was just having a bad day. The woman who called us to tell us the ice cream was ready seemed very friendly, though. There are so many options for ice cream in the area that I do not feel the need to come back here. read more

This place was TERRIBLE! Guy serving us said price was $14.80 but gave me $5 back (I paid with a $20) Ice cream was over priced and not even good. My friends cup had a whole in the bottom. Prices weren't listed and guy kept forgetting what I ordered. Didn't realize something just like a blizzard was $7 when you can get it at DQ for $3.25! Soft serve was one price only and only one size!! Guy at window doesn't come when customers are waiting. Never coming here again!!! read more

Something about a nice Ice Cream place on the cape that is FAIR with their prices, GREAT with their service and selection and give you a NICE SIZE ice cream for the price. Did I mention Mandy (the owner) is there working the trenches most nights? Yeah... and they serve with a smile. It's a fun place and worth the ride from any local towns. A really nice surprise. There are certainly plenty of choice for ice cream within a mile of the Orleans rotary. What sets Mandy's apart? Really creative and appealing specialty sundaes like "E.R. Cone Home". I enjoyed the "Blended Banana Split" with lots of banana slices and strawberries. And if Mandy is there you will definitely get a cheerful greeting. read more

I just got home from two weeks at the Cape, so I sampled PLENTY of ice cream! We even ventured to an ice-cream place that was featured on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on the Food Network. Well, the Food Network got it wrong. I also had the "Gimme S'more" sundae, and OMG so good. Everyone in our group got something different and they all raved about it. Mandy gives super-personalized service with a smile. My only complaint is that I went there the day before we left! Next year, that's the only ice cream place we're going to. read more

i had soft serve, and it was pretty good. my ice cream experience was spoiled though by the smell of old grease. my nose is somewhat OCD and once it gets a whiff of something off, pervasive etc. it just continues to NAG,NAG, NAG! so i wouldn't eat a meal here. ( they need to clean up their grease!) also, the service was too damned friendly, pollyana friendly, eeek! P.S. it was very cheap! read more

There is no shortage of great ice cream places on Cape Cod but Mandy's gets my vote for being the best for fast, friendly service. While vacationing there last week, myself along with my teenage daughter and her friend treated ourselves to ice cream treats at least 3 times during the week. The prices are very fair and the customer service was out of this world. It was also helpful that Mandy seemed to have plenty of employee's working on these business nights so the wait time was none to very minimal, not so at many of the other ice cream shops.If I had to say one negative thing about this place it would probably be that they have so many delicious flavors of ice cream to choose from, you could easily find youself coming back to try something new, night after night thus blowing any type of diet (of course, vacations aren't for dieting anyway so have fun)! read more

The few times I've been here, the experience has been great. When I saw that the evil Friendly's had finally disappeared, I was overjoyed. When the place that replaced Friendly's, Mandy's Cape Creamery, was actually a good ice cream place, I was sold. Mandy's offers a lot of options. One thing I really enjoyed was that their menu isn't composed entirely of seafood. I feel like a lot of the other restaurants I've been to on the Cape only have seafood, with usual foods like hot dogs and hamburgers reserved only to the kiddies' menu. Mandy's is different. Their menu offers a wide variety of both seafood classics like fish n' chips and clam chowder, as well as the usual restaurant foods in adult sizes like cheeseburger and sandwiches. The place is small, but is a lot livelier with a better atmosphere than the Friendly's that it replaced. The wait staff is nice and every personal. The first time I went to Mandy's, the service was a bit slow but I believe it was only the first week it was open so I blamed it on the wait staff just getting used to working there. All the other times, it has been perfect. One real plus is that they offer outdoor seating with umbrellas if needed, if the sun is too bright or to offer a bit of shade. Their ice cream selection is pretty big for such a small place. They offer typical things like sundaes and shakes, to lesser known things like Strawberry Tall Cakes and their own version of a McFlurry or Blizzard: a Nor'easter. I loved the naming since it just further stresses how local Mandy's really is. Their take-out window is really nice, as well. It's quite convenient and I usually hit it up before making the long trek home on day trips to the Cape. I know they offer take-out inside but I'm pretty sure the window is specifically for ice cream. The location is perfect as well. With a mini-golf across the street, a bike rental trailer and a touristy shop in the same parking lot, Mandy's Creamery is one of my favorite places to eat at when I go to the Cape. The prices are fair and very kid-friendly. I highly suggest it. read more

They're back in the building! Seem to have the same ice cream as they used to so, all good there. I did have to take a star away for the hospitality compared to the last few years. Granted we came when they were closing up about 10 mins to close (11PM) coming from mini golf across the street. It wasn't the fact that we could no longer order soft serve (which is half their menu) or the fact that we had to pay cash because the credit card machine wasn't working that upset us. What was frustrating was that we were asked to leave the inside before we had finished our ice cream. I really felt that they could have let us sit there for the 10 mins max it would have taken us to finish given it had literally just turned 11:00. So we left and went in the parking lot and they turned all the lights off on us. I guess just don't go there near closing time if you'd like to sit anywhere besides your car. read more

This was one of the many, many ice cream places I visited on my visit to Cape Cod. The workers were really friendly and the ice cream concoctions had the cutest names (ET Cone Home, etc) The credit card machine was down so we had to pay cash which was a bummer. Even though they had a million flavors I wasn't too blown away by the soft serve. I had the s'mores which just was really just vanilla ice cream with some chocolate chips and a few random graham crackers. Maybe try the blended banana split, my sister had it and said it was amazing. read more

I used to truly rave about this ice cream place but I must say some flavors do taste artificial (like the pistachio flavor). I literally go here everyday but I would advise you to definitely keep an eye out as to who is scooping your ice cream. The owner gives a reasonable amount for the price you pay while some of the other employees are so stingy about how much ice cream to give you. I go here all the time and have never had an issue. There weren't even that many customers today but the girl who took my order was just rude. There was a father and son in front of us who gave their order and didn't really move to the side. The girl who was taking the orders got our attention by repeating "hello" a couple times instead of moving the line along by saying "I can help the next customer in line". She gave us our ice cream and it was probably less than a full scoop which is less than how much we usually get. I've worked in customer service for years so I know this isn't just me expecting too much. read more

I've been going there for around 2 years and usually people just get the ice cream. the big mistake is avoiding the menu I have heard many compliments about the food especially the Onion strings and french fries. Was staying at the seashore inn (right next door) wanted ice cream at 10:45. Was pleased to learn that they were still open. Ice cream was good tasted like Friendly's ice cream. Seemed a little pricy for small portions. But overall good spot! read more

It didn't say the price next to it- but I didn't think it was going to be seven whole dollars!!!! Who the heck pays 7 dollars for icecream?!?? Not me!!!! What a rip off!!!! And there was a hole in my cup- so it was leaking all over the place! Plus the dude that works there is weird- and didn't give my friend back the correct amount of change!! Amazing place. So many choices, delicious ice cream and they are truly the most accommodating dessert place we've ever been to. Not only did they offer to mix up whatever flavor my husband wanted, with a smile, but they easily (and happily) made sure my son with nut allergies got what he wanted, and safely.
