I had already picked up a replacement alternator on my way in, since it would've taken a couple of days to source one locally--unfortunately, once Blake's team began the work, they discovered the part was broken. They immediately called me, and because of their quick communication, I was able to drive an hour away, pick up another alternator, and get it back to the shop the same afternoon. Their tech jumped right on it and got everything installed before closing, ensuring I could continue my trip the next day. That level of effort and professionalism is rare these days. The service impressed me so much that on my next visit to see my mom, I brought the Travato back to Craven Tire to have the shocks replaced. The more I interact with Blake and his team, the more I appreciate their honesty, skill, and genuine customer care. Every technician I've met there is friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to doing quality work. They recommended Blackhawk tires and quoted me $620 for the tires, mounting, and installation. During the call, they also required a $50 deposit, which immediately seemed unusual. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was told it would be quite a while before they could get to my vehicle. I also discovered they were charging $135 per tire for the same tire that other shops were selling for around $80. At that point, I decided not to proceed and asked for my $50 deposit back so I could take my business elsewhere. The owner refused to refund the deposit. Between the excessive pricing, the wait time despite having an appointment, and the refusal to return my deposit, my experience was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this business.

Every time I asked to see the service tech video of the the problem I was told the "system is down". I asked that the video be msg to my phone. They would not send it. Went in for oil change on my GMC Terrain. Was told there was a very slight drip from transmission and that it needed to be repaired before it got worse. Service writer said it is probably a seal. Even though I had never seen any evidence of fluid leaks on the floor of my garage where the car lives, I said fix it because I did not want to have an expense down the road. Service writer also said to get it done before the 3 year bumper to bumper ran out so the cost would be covered by the warranty. Sounds like it made sense. The "repair" was made. Unfortunately I noticed transmission fluid on my garage floor the very next day. Took the car back to Trent. Service writer said it may be a transmission case but this time they fixed an axle seal. The axle had NOT been leaking before they "fixed" the transmission "leak. Next day I again noticed new transmission fluid on my garage floor. Took the car back to Trent. Service writer said it was probably the transmission case warped. They worked on the car again. By this time I was completely unhappy with the Terrain and the dealership service center. I did research and saw that the terrain and other GM products had an ongoing problem with transmission leaks. I got the impression that the Terrain was not a reliable car for my wife to drive anymore. Decided that I needed to trade it in and by a more reliable vehicle for my wife to drive. This experience cost me thousands of dollars. I have a gut feeling that the service writer and dealer service center (because of their sloppy repair) screwed me royal.

I will always believe that all mechanics are absolute crooks and I wouldn't recommend a single one to anybody. I'd recommend getting a new car, change oil regularly and avoid mechanics at all cost.
