First time going to Jones Beach Theater for a concert and it was amazing! We seen Akon and Neyo, so many classic songs, the sound quality was amazing and I feel like you'll have a good view no matter where you sit! The only cons were the prices of drinks and food, wildly overpriced as every venue usually is, and they have a huge parking lot but it took us 2 hours to finally leave because of how badly backed up it was and only had one exit to leave. read more

This is an amazing venue. Acoustics were very good not a huge theater so not huge crowds food options were plentiful as well as drinks options. Staff was very friendly. The only issue was getting out of the area once the concert was over but I do not know how you could control that. Well, definitely look for future concerts in this venue.. read more

If you think you will be safe based on the security detail at Jones beach amphitheater think again. You require a "VIP" bracelet to be able to use and enter the private suite that we had booked for the night. However no one even checks who is coming in and out of the suites. My family and I, including my elderly parents were sitting down in the suite seats enjoying our concert experience. Little did we know that we had to have eyes in the back of our heads to watch the suite door so no one would enter. If I knew I wouldn't have our belongings including wallets, keys, phones, etc on the suite bar table/stools. You guessed it...our personal belongings were stolen out of private suite!!! Private should be private!!! I even had to confront strangers who were apparently eating our food and using our bathroom, that again was supposed to be private. I kicked them out, got security, and basically was for nothing. All they did was apologize, and didn't offer anything for our troubles. For all the money the suite is, you would think they would care a little more!! Shameful!!! Waste of money!! read more

After what happened at HoJo on August 20th, 2026, Jones Beach should really reevaluate plans for fan safety. The way this situation was handled was incredibly irresponsible and put a lot of people in danger. I completely understand weather happens and it is an outdoor venue. I have sat through shows in the rain before, but I have never seen such disorganization and heard some people were told to stay inside the bathroom when a tornado touched down at Atlantic Beach. Concession stands closed and the crowd was huddled together outside in the middle of a lightning storm. Thankfully no one was hurt. The lack of communication was unreal. Staff telling us that the show would only be canceled if the artist chose to do so? Ridiculous. No police or even security to assist ticket holders. The show started without any announcement made to the crowd and was cut short. Rain fell so hard and so fast that all exits were flooded with at least a foot of water. Garbage cans were floating in the parking lot and Wantagh Parkway was closed due to flooding. I will never purchase tickets to a show here unless its the day before and even then I have a hard time giving my money to this place after what happened that night. It's a shame because it really is a nice venue to see a show. Very disappointed in the lack of concern from the venue. Not canceling and telling a crowd to "shelter in place" with a tornado touching down a few miles away shows how little they care and are more concerned with money because they did not want to issue refunds. I hope nothing ever happens there where the fans would need to be evacuated because there was no order or staff assistance. Shame on Live Nation. Shame on Ticketmaster. For whatever reason, instead of the desolate scene at the Uber pickup era in Lot 4 after Counting Crows/Gaslight Anthem, there were massive crowds for Offspring/Jimmy Eat World/New Found Glory. The sign marking the pickup area no longer exists, hopefully Uber can get a partial refund of their sponsorship dollars. And perhaps because of the crowd level, I got to enjoy a "classic" Jones Beach shared taxi hawker situation. It seemed like the guy was planned to overcharge a family (not a bad price for four separate concertgoers but it's not like the 9-year-old is going to pay 25% of the total) so I wasn't initially interested but his price was reasonable, perhaps because he found a "whale" who was traveling beyond the usual Freeport station. Another twist was I tried the food. The $7 price tag for the chicken tender wrap had me wondering if some politician was threatening to go after Live Nation's concession prices. The tender itself was a disappointment that won't convert this Team Bone customer to the boneless side, but it may be worth buying just for the pimento cheese. The cheddar jalapeno bratwurst was enjoyable but didn't merit the $12 price tag. Sound quality wasn't as good this time, maybe because I was near a wall. Workers were helpful, including when I had Ticketmaster app problems. I appreciate the fact that they trust you to find your seat own based on numbers and letters but will gladly help if needed. After being in a crammed roach motel like the Wellmont in Montclair I like the spaciousness of Jones Beach Theater. But they should realize that non-car owners like music too and bring back the bus. read more

I am giving this a 3 because the people that work there are incredibly nice and helpful. I had an injury and they easily and happily provided me with a wheelchair with a very kind man, named Scott, who took me around.. Also the theater is just breathtaking...HOWEVER, we were seated right next to some metal stairs and it was next to impossible to hear Sebastian Maniscalco. I was so disappointed and felt like I would have enjoyed him more on Netflix....If you are going to book this theater, pay attention to where your seats are. Do not sit next to stairs and they actually put people right in front of metal poles with absolutely no view. I am not sure I could go back...It's the Paramount for me in Huntington from now on. read more

Hello, my fellow Yelpers. It's nice, once again, to be back. This Northwell Jones Beach Theatre, is exactly the ideal place for entertainment. It's my first time, coming here. This evening, I had the opportunity to see my favorite rock band, The Goo Goo Dolls, in concert! There was also a great performance, by Dashboard Confessional. Their music is amazing too! What I love about this venue, is the level of attention and service, that the staff provides to all guests; whether it's regular admission or a VIP... I felt pampered and well-attended at all times. I like the fact that this venue, accommodates all disabilities. The food and drink options are the very diverse. There's something for everyone. Great place. read more

My coworker recently offered me two tickets at a great price to an Anderson Paak concert at Jones Beach Theater. Honestly, I wasn't familiar with the artist but having loved my last concert at this venue a couple years back, I immediately said yes. I'm so glad I did as my gf and I had such an amazing time. The vibes in the pit section were stellar and the view looking back towards the stadium seats was quite remarkable. I loved being so close as you see so many details and nuances in the performance that you'd never even think of. I loved catching glimpses of the conversations between the sound guys and the artists too. So if you're ever debating pits seats here, I highly recommend you get 'em! Even after the concert was over, the vibes continued in an "after party" of sorts on the lawn, just inside the entrance. They had a DJ, a bunch of cornhole setups, and a rocking dance floor. And we definitely took full advantage and got our steps in for the night. I finished the evening with 12.5k steps... score! Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the staff of the venue- everyone I interacted with were all super friendly and quite professional. Pros: - Ample parking a very short walk from the entrance - Beautiful outdoor venue overlooking the water - Convenient bathrooms, even one by the parking lot along the pavilion Cons - Perhaps the seats but that's on par for most venues. Honestly, I had such a better time standing in the pit section, which is right up close to the stage, versus sitting 1/4 mile back in the seats. read more

I'm so sad to hear this theater is closed. I've been here a few times for shows and i have always enjoyed this place. It's spacious and you are able to get there by car or public transportation, and i have done both. Theres plenty of food and shopping that can be done prior to shows and the views are amazing. My wife uses a wheelchair. She bought tickets for James Taylor believing they were in a handicapped section. They were not, but staff members--each and everyone--were amazingly accommodating and found seats for us in a section for wheelchair patrons. Those staff continued to care for us, putting aside the wheelchair and making sure we were comfortable. Northwell staff in the First Aid Section let her use the bathroom there. Parking in a handicapped session was a breeze, with staff pointing us to where we had to go. Cannot say enough good about the theater staff, Northwell staff, and everyone we encountered! read more

Came here for the Avril Lavigne concert in August and it was my first time attending a concert at an amphitheater. We took the LIRR from Penn station in NYC and followed all the instructions online. There was a free shuttle from the Freeport LIRR station to and from the amphitheater that had some issues but won't dock stars off here for those issues. Also there aren't that many food options next to he LIRR station so either eat in NYC or you'll have to spend money at the venue. Security and ticket scanning was a breeze. The bathrooms were plentiful at the venue. Seating was easy to find and get to. I appreciated the large elevators to get you up to the higher levels. The one thing I'll remember is the great views. Seeing the water behind the stage was gorgeous. But it quickly disappeared into darkness as the sun set. read more

Absolutely loved Jones Beach. This is my first time here and I have nothing but good words to say about it. I just saw Anderson Paak with 3 friends and we all loved it. Apparently Jones Beach is starting to up their game as a venue. Usually it's the Jimmy Buffet's and tribute bands of the music world, but they're starting to get bigger names like Anderson Paak (who I saw) and bigger country artists too. Parking is free and the lot is huge. We could see how fun it would be tailgating all day before a show since the venue is legit walking distance from the parking lot. Also, entry in was easy peasy. No long lines, and they've got helpful staff directing us where to go. Granted, we were in the pit so I had a bit of a spoiled experience but my friends and I were all saying how we want to come back for more concerts. The sound and stage were great. It truly seems like every seat is a good seat -- even back in the nosebleeds. What a great time! read more

This is my first time attending a concert at this theater. Parking: pretty big parking lot and of course, VIP is closer to the building which is extra cost. Don't forget to remember where you park otherwise you will be wandering around the parking lot. Leaving the venue, there is only 1 exit which would be a traffic jam and long waits. This is a nice venue: very spacious, multiple food options, merchandise vendors, and numerous toilets in the restrooms (2 full rows which is amazing). The only issue was the night we attended a concert was the super blue moon. The tide was high even before the concert started. As the concert progress, tide got higher. If you were in the pit of the amphitheatre, you were standing in water. Enjoy. read more

A review of the security - I walked in with a very small clear bag that had 5 items in it- not overpacked at all. Please explain why one of your security personnel unzipped and reached into my tiny CLEAR bag extremely roughly with no gloves on and very roughly handled the items inside???? She also flung my phone in the tray ( it wasn't in the bag) What's the point of brining a clear bag if someone still has to touch all of your stuff including personal care items?? I literally had a small set of keys, a lip gloss, an antibacterial gel, a small Louis Vuitton wallet and 1 feminine hygiene item. So gross. At least wear gloves or use a stick. Meanwhile I saw people with clear backpacks (much larger and Jan packed with stuff) who didn't even have their bags looked into/ looked at. Their security is a joke- an illusion of safety. The theater itself is great, usually get reasonably priced tickets & it's free parking. Super overpriced drinks (24 for a Can drink- however the staff at the food and drink counter are always quite nice ). Please retrain your security staff !! It's quite scary that some people are being singled out and others aren't even being checked. read more

Great outdoor Location with Beautiful views of the water. I usually visit to see any major Rock/ heavy metal band. They serve alcohol and food but very pricey.. I recommend getting VIP tickets which allows you VIP perks like restaurants, bars and restrooms.. VIP seats are comfortable.. Stage is pretty big and u usually get a good view, unless the pit is full.. Be prepared to wait a long time after the show is over, to get out from the parking lot. Premier parking us available at a extra cost. Bathrooms can be more on the cleaner side.. Staff is usually nice and friendly, along with tue security.. I have been here for so many shows. My most recent visit was for the Backstreet Boys. I lost count how many times I've seen them, but I love seeing them at Jones Beach. Their acoustic here are always great. Even nosebleed seats aren't bad. A lot of time I come here just to hear the music from the band that's slated to play. Some bands are obviously better than others. But definitely a solid place to see a show. Come early to tailgate or just to enjoy the different food trucks and some cool other hangout areas before the show. read more

But the smell of piss never seems to go away...they have plenty of eateries and bars to have a adult beverage. I haven't been to Jones Beach Theater in two forevers. Last night I did and enjoyed the venue so much I plan to go to more shows. Having been largely stuck indoors during much of the pandemic, I was eager to go to some outdoor shows where I could be mask free. Live Nation was offering $25 tickets to select concerts and one of them was Miranda Lambert. I'd say that typically I'm not a country fan but heard some fun and light Miranda songs that crossed over into rock and decided to go to my first country concert. People were tailgating in parking spots- parking is included. I didn't remember how lovely the ocean views are from the theater itself. Purses and anything bigger than a check book wallet were not allowed. They had the usual expensive alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and fried food options. Well, the airport restaurants ARE more expensive, but little else is The opening acts- Three Cadillac and Little Bigtown had rock elements and were enjoyable. The whole being next to the ocean while listening to live music was fantastic. Everyone was there to have fun. My favorite part was when Little Big Town joined Miranda on stage for several songs. They were all having fun and it showed. I plan to be back soon. read more

I have never been in such a disorganized venue. It is just beyond comprehension that the management left the parking lot after the concert unattended and without any regulation for people to leave. It was chaos. I will not recommend anyone to come; it took us an hour and very aggressive driving to escape this mess. read more

The most popular outdoor venue on Long Island. They really did a nice job of updating the entire outdoor area. I just don't like the uncomfortable plastic seating that I was constantly sliding off making it very uncomfortable to sit for 4 hours. 7 o'clock start and the headliner didn't come on stage until 915. I was disappointed with the sound system. The instrumentals drown out the vocals. Lots of food choices. Not crazy about the 24 oz beers. Encourages more drinking? read more

As an outdoor theater for concerts it's good, but the food and beverage concessions are the worst. Few choices with no variety. But if you want an alcoholic drink, you have no problem finding one. Concession after concession for your alcoholic needs. Forget about prices...off the wall. And to top it off, they have MADD, mothers against drunk driving, collecting donations for support. This review is for the show: Hall & Oates with Squeeze opening. I had an awesome time, although not everything was perfect. The first thing to note is that the venue wouldn't let us in with the bags that we had: my tote bag and my two friends had purses. They had someone stationed outside with ZipLock Bags to put things in. After returning from the car with our baggies, the rest of the check in went very smoothly. There is a plethora of places at the stadium to get food and drinks. The food was good, and the counter staff were very friendly. They even have hard liquor, although the staff stationed there don't know any drink mixtures. I just ordered tequila neat rather than have a subpar tasting experience. The views in the stadium are amazing. Three big television displays helped us cheap seat folks get absorbed in the action on the stage. The sound system was excellent. We enjoyed singing every lyric with the people around us. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit of a hassle after the show. No one from the facility was directing traffic. Went to see Keith Urban on Saturday, June 14, 2025. I have not been to Jones Beach Theater in many years. The venue has a nice atmosphere, they did a good job revamping the concession area and VIP. My complaint - the sound was subpar. We were in the top level, it was difficult to hear him. Who do you blame? the Jones Beach engineer? This is my absolute FAVORITE place to see concerts in the tri-state area. Who wouldn't enjoy a beautiful summer night sitting by the water and listening to some of your favorite music?! It's very intoxicating! Not sure why people give this venue a low rating. If you don't drive it's still semi-easy to get to. All you have to do is take the LIRR Babylon line to the Freeport stop. Just go downstairs and wait for the N88 bus. It takes you to the venue. It actually used to drop you off and pick you up in the venue's parking lot but for some reason, they don't do that anymore. The N88 makes 3 stops. You get off at the last one, walk a few steps along the path that goes to your left, walk through a creepy tunnel that takes you under the highway and once you get out, you make another left until you reach the venue's parking lot and then just make a right to walk to the entrance. Be aware that if you get there early and are not coming in from parking your car, you'll think you'd have bypassed security. Think again. You have to go wait in line by security to get let in. Now, if you are observant and a planner and pay attention to the venue's site, you would already know that either small clutch bags or clear bags up to a certain size are allowed in. If you didn't pay attention, you can either leave your bags in your car or check them in at the bag check which is pretty much just a shed. Bring a clear bag or leave your stuff in the car so time is not wasted. Security was a breeze, especially with my clear tote. They still checked it with a stick, though. There are always people asking for donations every time you enter. That's a bit annoying. They have all different kinds of food and drink options. The food is pretty good, to be quite honest, albeit EXPENSIVE! The drinks as well. I got a can of Liquid Death spring water(they don't have regular bottles of water) and a house specialty cocktail for $33 with a tip included. Cash is not allowed at any vendor. That can of water was about 8 freaking dollars. The cocktails always come in cute souvenir cups that you can take home and reuse. I believe it was $22 for the cocktail with refills costing $19. The prices at Live Nation venues are utterly ridiculous! That's why in my heart I can not give this venue a full 5 stars. They have picnic tables in the back where you can bring your food and sit down to eat. Bathrooms are always clean and there are PLENTY of stalls. The whole place has been spotless every time I've gone. As far as seating goes, there's really not a bad seat in the house. I've never sat up on top, but seeing the views they get from up there, it's pretty sweet! They were wiping down the seats of people in the orchestra seating before the patrons sat down. I guess we people who didn't want to spend over $200 for a ticket didn't deserve that luxury?! The sound is great and they have two giant screens on either side of the stage for anyone who wants to see up close. It was 90 degrees there this past Saturday when I went to see Tears for Fears/Garbage. Since it is on the water, the temperature got down to 69 degrees that night and I was freezing! No matter how hot it gets during the day and how much you think you will not need a hoodie, jacket, or sweater, BRING ONE!!!! Leaving this place can be quite a challenge. There's always a huge rush and massive crowd. Getting back to the bus is pretty simple. They have signs saying bus with arrows pointing the way. Good thing because it's not the exact way that we came in with the bus. It was a fine walk to the bus up until it became pitch black and you couldn't see where you were going. I saw a sign in the distance that said bus so I followed that to a once again CREEPY tunnel that was fortunately lighted up but it's EXTREMELY scary on both ends of the tunnel since it's complete darkness and you have no idea where you are going. Great spot to get robbed. You make a left when you get out of the tunnel and the bus is waiting there for you. They have a few waiting there. Once one gets filled and leaves, they open another one. All in all, this is a really wonderful place to see a concert. Besides pricing, everything is put together beautifully. Nice staff. Never a bad experience on my end. The concert was great,Billy Idol Rocked.The security was very rude and I had to check this man because....my husband wears a hearing aid.It is obvious and as security going through bags etc..it could be a damn bomb on his head ..how could ya not notice?IT IS YOUR JOB BIG MOUTH.So,as we walked through..Sweetheart did not hear him say wait.This smarty pants goes"well,I guess not or just don't!" Wrong..so I stopped and told said security(aka Paul Blart) and stated"you are very rude,if you were doing your job you would see he is hard of hearing.Be more polite and watch your mouth." I was very offended and was glad Sweetheart missed that too.It was just mean.Please Jones Beach hire people that are a bit more sensitive to special needs. Seeing a concert at Jones Beach is a Long Island ritual, one I've faithfully maintained since the good ole days when the venue was much smaller and Guy Lombardo swanned in on his little yacht. I've seen Entwhistle (RIP) throw his guitar in classic Who style, Counting Crows, Moby, Jackson Brown, Sade, David Bowie (RIP) and too many more to mention here. Went to see Doobie Brothers/Santana last night. Weather was cool and clear, the music was superb, just a great night. We splurge on the VIP parking tickets now to avoid the looong trek from the regular (free) parking lot. And some cheapskates take up several parking spaces to listen to the music for free which makes parking even harder. I usually get second level seats, close enough for a good view but not crazy expensive - although inflated Live Nation service fees ensure high pricing for all concert seats now. The amphitheater at Jones Beach is likely my most traveled to venue for music. Through the years there have been improvements to the concessions. The sound is very good, no matter where you sit. Parking is ample as it uses beach lots. Parking is also free (aside from vip which is way overpriced). Food and beverage are fairly on par with what other venues charge. Jones Beach allows each patrons to enter with up to a 1 gallon SEALED water bottle OR empty container. Seating consists of several levels of affixed folding chairs. Upper mezzanine, mezzanine, lower mezzanine, orchestra and if available "pit". There are box seats and a vip area which I've never been to, but hear it's not very good once the show starts. The entire amphitheater is outdoors, so you are subject to any weather conditions. Typically, only an electrical storm will be a reason a show is canceled. As this venue is on the water, it is more windy that regular places and the higher up you get, the more windy it becomes. Check weather, my wife and I have ponchos just in case. There is a slight overhang in the middle seating area which are the only seats that won't get wet if it rains. Tickets are always sold by ticketmaster from what I've seen, who are a total rip-off, but what can I do? The only other way to get tickets at a good price is if the show isn't selling well, Groupon offers tickets at a reduced price with no fee. Being outdoors makes it more likely bands will use pyrotechnics. There are also 2 large screens that project the artists. As of now, smoking is permitted on the ground level outside of the seating. Marijuana seems to be permitted anywhere. There don't seem to be as many ushers as other venues or compared to what I've seen in the past. Restrooms are plentiful and good sizes. They don't smell as bad as I remember them. Merchandise and food sales typically stop at 10. That I know of, there is 1 elevator located right in the center of the seating. The capacity is 15,000. They were smart enough to position the theater so at sunset, the stage has a shadow on it and the audience has the sun to their backs. I've been at festivals where they open an area for stage B. Bring earplugs! A retractable awning would make this venue better. Also, if they added filtered water as a free choice as does forest hills to promote reusable containers in lieu of single use plastic bottles, I think it's a win. read more

Took my littles to kidz bop at jokes beach theater. The workers are super sweet and do their best to make sure everything runs smoothly. It was a pleasant experience, just a little pricey. I definitely paid more for items than I expected. Three cotton candies were $33. Two drinks were $21. I got other things I can't recall but if I had a complaint, that would be all I could say. read more

The pros- The shows at Jones Beach are amazing, and the staff is friendly and so helpful. The renovations to the concession area are impressive and it is an efficient process to purchase items-no long lines and we were at a sold-out show! Other people have commented on the food/drink prices, but these days that is probably to be expected. The cons: The new seating did not allow for an arm rest or a cup holder, which was a bit uncomfortable. The parking lot, while free to park, needs to be managed better. When you first get there, so many people are taking up spots with tailgating, it is laughable. I get wanting to gather with your friends and have a drink or two before a show, but do you really need to take up 2 extra spaces for every 1 car in your party? It's obnoxious! When you leave your car and have to cross the middle where cars are entering, it feels like you're playing Frogger trying not to get hit by a car or truck. Jones Beach is still a great place to see a concert- and our go-to venue of choice for summer concerts! read more

Went to Jason Aldean last night. The new seats are horrible. Uncomfortable and narrow...no better than the old pink seats. The elevated seats they added between stadium 1 & 2 (100 and 200 levels now) are a disaster waiting to happen. They caused the walkway leading to the exits to be far too narrow. Can only walk single file, maybe double file depending on the size of the individual. Good luck getting out in case of an emergency. I liked this theater so much better when there was no alcohol being served. People tailgate all day and are already wasted going into the show and add the alcohol at the show and they can't stand up straight. I can't tell you how many people I saw almost fall head first down the stairs....and many of these idiots now have to drive home. Tailgaters take up multiple parking spots. Parking at the theater is a pain in the ass on a good day. Tailgating makes it that much harder to find a spot. Not worth the aggravation of going to a show here read more

Love the theater and the shows are great. However the new seats they installed for Summer 24 are terrible. And have zero arm room. That's because the seats are designed with no not a single arm rest between people. Not an arm rest on both side for both parties. I cry foul! Anyone with me? read more

I recently attended my 2nd concert at the newly renovated Northwell Jones Beach Theater to see G-Eazy, Ty Dollar Sign, Lil Uzi Vert, Namir and PLO. My first concert here was in 2001. They have since then renovated and I love it ! Summer concerts are not the same anywhere else. You get the nice cool breeze, a tropical ambiance, dope views of the water, modern concession stands and awesome security here. As a Long Island native, Jones Beach will always have a special place in my heart because of my dear childhood memories. When I saw GROUPON advertise this show, I knew we'd be seated in the nose bleed section but didn't care. This stadium gets packed fast and most people were fortunate to purchase floor seats and better for this show, so that left lots of open seats that were closer unfilled. We were above to bump up our seats due to this. If you truly want to enjoy the show, save up and purchase floor seats. Overall the new renovations have done this place justice. Parking was very easy and fairly close to the entrance. There were lots of food and alcohol concession stands and trucks that gave me the feel of being in California some where. Bathrooms were easy to access from each section. I love that this stadium is very spacious. No one is on top of you and you can really enjoy the show and view here. read more
