The staff had set up my son's soon with a fun construction theme including table clothes, plates, napkins, signs on the wall and had juice and water ready to go. They checked in throughout, reminded us about pizza and cake at the right time and didn't rush anyone. Last year my son had his birthday at Tumble Jungle in Norwalk and it felt more rushed and like they wanted us out on the minute but Playhouse Fairfield gave us a great experience. If you're looking for an easy time for your kids, someone to truly pull it all together for you I'd definitely recommend them in the future!

My two-year-old son and I have visited this location dozens of times over the past year without a single issue. On this visit, we also happened to be the only Black family present. What happened afterward was shocking, unprofessional, and felt unmistakably discriminatory. Later that day, I received a call from someone identifying herself as the owner/manager. She claimed that it had been "reported" that my recently turned two-year-old son had: * "Shaken" a one-year-old girl * Then supposedly been "violent" toward multiple children * And later--somehow--"choked" the same child These accusations all came in a single phone call and kept changing as she spoke. Not one version was consistent with the last, and none of them matched anything that occurred during our visit. When I calmly asked her to check security footage, she said she would but immediately followed it with, "The video may not have caught anything," despite openly admitting she hadn't reviewed it. To this day, I have received zero follow-up or confirmation that any video was checked at all. I later spoke with the front-desk employee who was there during our visit. He confirmed that: * No parent voiced any complaint about my son * He personally witnessed nothing concerning * The owner/manager was not even present at the time This brings up extremely concerning questions: * How did the owner know to single out my child when no complaint was made? * Why was I immediately presumed guilty with no evidence? * Why did the supposed reporting parents never speak to me directly, which is standard in children's play spaces? * Why did the claims escalate from shaking, to multiple children, to choking--a sequence that simply does not align with a newly two-year-old's behavior or my son's history? My son has never harmed another child, and our long history at this business reflects that.

The admission fee was accordingly waived for us. One exhibit was on quilts. The exhibits were drawn from their extensive textile collection. These colorful scenes of early New England life were gorgeous. If you ever wanted to know how quilts are pieced and stitched together or if you're just a quilt lover, you will enjoy this exhibit. The second exhibit was a biggie -it drew a TV crew (Cable Connecticut 12) into the room to film a segment. Guess who made a 2 second guest appearance in their piece? Ever seen those childrens books abiut "Busytown" by Richard Scarry? He was a Fairfield native and quite a few of Fairfield's businesses and landmarks ended up in those books. The exhibit is an immersive experience that allows you to select one of his animal cartoon figures and walk through the colorful streets of Busytown. You can teach your kids how communities work, what jobs people have, learn about transportation and all kinds of interactive exhibits- think opening doors and reading things inside the door. This has got to be a blast for kids or a nostalgic visit for anyone who grew up on Scarry's books.

Great local history museum! The front desk had great resources and the exhibits were wonderful.read more

But, they need to be honest with themselves about their ability to handle as much as they do and still keep up the business side of things. Then, when given feedback about their less than stellar business practices, it would be nice if they didn't scream at their clients and hang up on them. I was looking forward to engaging a small local business but they have bailed on me one month away from my wedding on New Year's Eve. Proceed with caution.

At one time, the theater would show movies that had already been released for some time, and it was staffed by volunteers. Most notably, concession prices were cheap: $1 popcorn, $2 sodas, etc. From 2010 to about 2019 the theatre was shuttered. Thanks in part to benefactors and other community sponsors, the Theatre has been beautifully redone & hosts about 50 different types of performances per year, ranging from comedy, tribute shows, along with occasional classic movies from generations ago. They do have a small concession stand, and (at least the night I attended) alcoholic drinks were available for purchase. Went to see the Irish Tenors perform and no seat was a bad seat. They even did a meet and greet afterwards. Be sure to check out the Theatre as they do partner with local businesses on providing discounts to ticket holders. For example, showing your ticket to Luna Azzura restaurant will get you a free glass of wine for up to three days after (the) show.

From the moment we (my bf & me)walked in, it felt like stepping into Willy Wonka's world. We received a box full of numbered treats to taste along while watching the movie. There were chocolate samples, even ones wrapped in a little golden ticket, gummis, jawbreakers, etc. that made snacking during the movie so much more magical. Watching the movie while tasting all these themed goodies made it feel like I was part of the story. Every chocolate river, Everlasting Gobstopper, & fizzy lifting drink scene had me reaching for my own treats at just the right moment(the screen prompted which number to eat). It was interactive in the sweetest way possible (literally)! The theater itself was cozy, spacious, and welcoming, & the staff went all out to make it feel whimsical.I loved how they made a classic movie feel fresh & playful again. This isn't just going to the movies it's stepping into a candy-colored dreamland for a few hours!
