They have a lot of seating inside and outside, making it a great spot to hang out or meet up. The only downside is that they do not have wifi. My all time favorite coffee house for mocha! It's so delicious, perfect blend of coffee and mocha - neither one overpowering the other and you can taste both. Perfection! Hidden gem maybe? This coffee house is the smaller version which is situated right next to the Metro line, so it can be a tad bit noisy if you're looking to hang out here for a while. In saying that, I quite enjoyed my coffee and spoke with the baristas who are very communicative and helpful with the area. The Cafe itself is very retro as is this street which has several shops and restaurants that have kept the old Pasadena look and identity. Finally, and most importantly the coffee was perfect, so it's well worth the effort to perhaps walk along the street shops before engaging in a quality drink. I love Jones! I think this is a gem in Pasadena that people don't talk about enough but I'm also glad they don't lol. Personally I love their iced chai and iced dirty chai. I feel like it always hits and is the perfect amount of sweet, strong, and spiced. But every drink I've tried here has been good! Their pastries are incredible if you're lucky enough to grab one. The only thing is at times it can get a bit pricey and also they only have one size for their iced drinks which is not big enough for me lol. Service is always pretty fast which is very appreciated. I have usually gone mid day where there's not too many people waiting ahead of me so not sure how it is in prime time coffee morning rush. The vibes here are very cool! Sort of industrial and open. My friend got an iced oatmilk Lavendar latte and she said she really liked it. The customer service was friendly. The location is a little hidden but once you walk up front there's a nice patio with enough seating area. As you walk up there's places to sit on but when we went, it was raining so that whole area was wet. Once we walked inside we didn't expect how crowded it was! I've been to Jones in South Pasadena and enjoyed their coffee, so when my beautiful girls Graciela & Jessica wanted to get together I suggested the Pasadena location, which is across the street from Art Center and a popular destination with the students. I like Jones' coffee because their beans come from the family farm in Guatemala, and you can taste the quality in the roast. This café is larger than the one on Mission. It shares a location with a pizza place and there is a covered outdoor patio area. Inside is spacious with an artsy aesthetic and a funky décor. Chairs on the ceiling are a central theme for both locations. There are plenty of areas to sit and relax - including a hidden room in the back in case you need a quiet place to study. Lounging is encouraged as board games are also available. There is a mini frig with a variety of milk options for your coffee and merchandise for sale. The baked goods are from Cos & Pi. However, the pastry case is smaller here, so your favorite treat may be gone before the end of the day. Our order consisted of: Cortado ($3.70) Lavender Latte ($5.15) Iced Crimson Berry Tea ($4.50) and a Maple Scone. We shared the scone, which was delicious, and we were very happy with our beverage choices. The latte was smooth & creamy with a hint of lavender. The Cortado was robust, and the Crimson Berry Tea was very refreshing. The vibe was so relaxing. But my Way Better Half loves coffee, so while on a recent Pasadena visit, we decided to visit Jones Coffee on South Raymond and found out why the neighborhood loves it. There is a smaller parking lot but plenty of nearby street parking. The interior is fantastic, with a collection of prints, artistry, and funkiness that makes it an inviting, warm, comfortable place to hang out--loved the overall vibe. There were so many good conversations and interactions throughout the property. I didn't buy anything because of my coffee aversion, but my WBH got their iced coffee and loved it so much that we returned the next day. read more

One of the few reliable coffee shops in Pasadena that will pull a good shot. Great for iced coffee and lattes. They also sell whole beans and pastries. There is lots of seating inside and outside. Their building also has a pizza place and it looks like in the evenings it changes into a beer/wine bar. The most challenging thing about coming to Jones is probably parking. There is a private lot, but it fills up fast and many people come to sit for quite a while talking or working. Street parking can be frustrating to find, so expect to take extra time to find a spot and walk. read more

First visit on Feb 7 around 7:15am on RAYMOND LOCATION Pasadena after a recommendation for good coffee. The male staff member was helpful, but a female staff member with short dark hair and dark glasses was rude. She interrupted my conversation, answered a different question, spilled my coffee without offering to replace it, and I had to ask for a new one. Such cool decor inside! The space is larger inside that anticipated and they have a covered outdoor space as well. There is a small private parking lot with a few spaces as well. They're able to do lots of flavored lattes, but they're all made with syrup flavorings. I opted for a Lavender Latte with oak milk. The drink was pretty smooth with a light taste of lavender. May stick with the unflavored lattes in the future so the coffee can shine on it's own. If you're looking to work remote here, make sure you have your own hotspot as they do not have wifi available and minimal outlets. In their 'Amenities and More,' they do note that this is 'Not Good For Working.' Would return to have a coffee date with a friend! read more

Pasadena has a lot of coffee shops & this one is on my top 5. They have 3 locations & all are consistent when it comes to their coffee, tea, baked goods & service. I drink my coffee straight as is no cream no sugar. Their coffee is so good, acidity level is perfect! They have loose leaf tea which is a plus! Both their iced & hot teas are amazing. Their baked goods are not baked in store. They get it from a local spot. Their spinach & feta croissant is good as well as their raspberry scone. Parking area is small but there is parking on the street. Plenty of space to sit! An awesome spot. They have a live jazz band, not sure how many times a week they come in. They also have wine, beer & kombucha growlers to go! Took 1 star away because where they have their teas located. They are behind their trashcan. Either consider moving the teas or trash. Also I wished they used tongs to grab the tea bags or gloves. read more

Jones is my jam! Especially their iced coffee and cold brew (no cream needed), good flavor. Popped in for the first time after finding parking right on the street parallel to Route 66 off Raymond Ave and just a few skips for the LA Metro Gold Line station for Filmore Street just at the corner. They have a huge outdoor patio area as well as a deep indoor seating ensemble in a chic artsy planty and rustic like cafe with good vibes and good service. Drinks come out very fast and ready. Solid pastry and baked eats as well as hot and cold beverages. Jones is great for locals and passers even more so for workspace and good music including live at times. Totally a great spot to curl up with a book as well between sips of your brew of choice. Non-dairy cream/milk options are very present if needed. Easy menu board in thick white lettering along a deep dark board to read and clear signs for ordering "Order Here." Right to the point, just like Jones: good coffee with no gimmicks. This coffee shop is small but mighty. If you're one who's not interested in fancy drinks, this is your place. Aside from the basics, they have a lavender latte and perhaps one or two other less common offerings. They do have an additional couple of drinks around the holidays, but really you're coming for the quality of the coffee and not the pizzaz. I've never been to their cute drive-thru stand which is just a few streets over, but I've heard both locations get pretty busy. They do offer some pastries but they quickly run out, and although the ham & cheese croissant I tried on one of my visits was good, I wouldn't go around raving about their food items. Unless they have something I don't know about. This location has plenty of outdoor space, and the employees aren't overly chipper in the morning. So if you're one of those dads with the "don't talk to me before I've had my coffee" mugs, this is the place for you, too. read more
