This situation has moved beyond a routine delay and now reflects a breakdown in service management, communication, and accountability. Summary of Key Facts: My vehicle was brought in on February 17 for a misfire issue (engine light on, suspected spark plug concern). I maintain an extended warranty through CarShield. In early April, I approved the transfer of my vehicle to Volkswagen for further diagnostic evaluation after your team was unable to identify the issue. I was repeatedly told your team was "waiting on Volkswagen." However, on April 15, I directly contacted Volkswagen and confirmed: Volkswagen has already communicated required next diagnostic steps to your management team. The vehicle requires an advanced diagnostic teardown (2-3 hours, approx. $700). Volkswagen is currently waiting on authorization from your dealership to proceed. Additionally, on April 15, CarShield confirmed: They are awaiting contact from your team to proceed under the existing claim. These findings directly contradict the information I have been given by your staff. Financial Impact: Due to the extended delay and lack of support: I have been in a rental vehicle for over 30 days at $30/day (exceeding $900 and increasing). I haven't been informed who's gonna to be financially responsible for this as up-to-date. which still has not been direct answer. At no point has your team clearly addressed responsibility for these expenses. Kia/Jones Kia performed multiple services on my 2021 Seltos, then produced wildly inconsistent multipoint inspections only one week and ~650 miles apart--items marked "OK" suddenly labeled urgent, which is impossible in that timeframe. 2024 Kia Sorento went in for its 15,000 mile service in June of 2025 and it was 1 year old. everything was checked off being good. No recommendations were made at this time. Now at the 25,000 service completed November 30, 2025 now the car need alignment and new tire. The service text that I spoke with says Kia recommends alignment yearly and that it is on the list to be asked during services. I find it very odd the car went out of alignment and destroyed a set of tires in less than 6 months. Jones Kia is saying it's my problem now and not willing to do anything to help out. I've been waiting a while to write this review because I wanted it to be more factual and less opinion based. If you want an honest review of this dealership, here you go. My husband called around to multiple dealerships trying to get us a new family vehicle after our other vehicle was wrecked in an incident in which we were not at fault. After calling this dealership for a vehicle that had been on the market for a few months (which was significantly longer than the other stores for that particular make and year), he asked if we could get a certain "out the door price" and was met with a "why are you trying to nickel and dime me?" by one of the Sales rep (Rob). The next day, they lowered the price on their website. That should have been the first red flag. Rob and my husband agreed to a price. When we got there to test the car (with all 4 of our kids under the age of 8) there was some sort of break issue on the vehicle that the manager had supposedly been driving around for a week and didn't seem to "notice" or get corrected, second red flag. We got an IOU for that and a few other minor cosmetic issues and decided to go ahead with purchasing the vehicle. After the purchase was completed it was nearly impossible to schedule any sort of appointment to get our newly purchased vehicle in to have the break issue corrected. They did finally "correct" the issue yet the vehicle is still making a loud noise on the back breaks. When we tried to schedule the appointment for the cosmetic issues, they became unresponsive. Remind you, we have an IOU signed paperwork for these services to be done. We live over an hour away but chose this dealership because of their promise to give you a fair and honest price for a used vehicle. A month later, we received a letter from the DMV saying that our registration couldn't be completed. It turns out this letter was a scam (obviously not their fault). However, we called over multiple times to ask for help from the Loan officer who completed our vehicle registration (Bernie) and get assistance from someone and never got a response or call back. All this to say, buying the vehicle was fine. We did like how quickly the paperwork went (After 3 hours of waiting, only 20 mins in the room BUT we were paying cash and not financing) and they were very accommodating to us with our 4 kids in the lobby while we waited. A week ago, we took our vehicle in for service at Jones Kia. We were provided a loaner vehicle and told no charge while they were diagnosing the vehicle. After receiving a phone call from service saying it would cost $7,550 to repair the vehicle (20 years old), we decided to buy a new vehicle from Jones Kia. We were told by the salesperson no charge for the loaner vehicle and for the $189 diagnostic charge since we purchased a new vehicle, for "the old debts were exonerated with buying a new car." A few days later, we received two calls the same day that there was a charge for the "loaner" vehicle. I contacted Jones, and the original salesperson said that there would be a charge for the "loaner" vehicle. I called back and then emailed Jones and they finally said to not worry about it. We won't be servicing our vehicle at any Jones facility, and in hindsight are kicking ourselves by purchasing a vehicle from Jones, and we can't (in good faith) recommend Jones Kia or any Jones dealership. We were definitely lied to (mislead if you want to be polite) and won't be returning. In fact, we're contemplating trading in the new vehicle elsewhere for something else. How can Jones management sleep at night telling us the "loaner" vehicle is now a billable "loaner". They say it was a misunderstanding, but we know the real truth. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in Jones, and we won't be making Jones for a Lifetime! Don't make the same mistake we did by buying from Jones. At least we won't be servicing our vehicle there. I had an awesome experience with everyone at Jones Kia. Just got home in our new SX X-Line Telluride. Since I traveled from out of state, I wanted to make sure nothing went wrong and had spoken to other dealers previously that were not responsive and/or overpricing the vehicle I was looking for. Everyone at Jones was fantastic to work with, particularly Athina (sales manager) and Mike Fletcher (salesperson). They were transparent, responsive, and all around easy to work with. No games or confusion to deal with. Also had a great experience with Ann (finance manager), who explained potential add-on options clearly and was not pushy at all. When calling or going to the location I'm always told in two weeks or we not sure when the part will be available. I've asked several times can an aftermarket part be used I'm always told they will ask but never received an answer. I finally got a text that the vehicle was complete which I have never received before but when I call of course no one knows it the xar is completed and them type of text got out all the time even if the car is not ready and the person working on my car is back on Tuesday which was over a week ago in which I still haven't received n answer. Very dishonest sales practices. We were in the market for a 2023 Sorento SX-Prestige HEV. They had one advertised, with the options we were looking for. When we called it had already been sold. The salesman told us he had another exactly like it, aside from the color, coming in. That was great to hear since we really wanted the Snow White Pearl color. 2.5 hour trip to the dealership only to find they didn't have any 2023 Sorento to test drive. There was an X-Line on the floor and we were told other than trim cosmetics it was optioned the same as the one coming in. We went back and forth on our trade, and was told due to its history they could only give fair trade in value and would be wholesaling it and not offering it for sale on their lot. I must add the car was in absolute stunning condition. No mechanical or cosmetic issues. It was always repaired with genuine KIA parts. We returned home and my wife wanted to see some videos of the car we were buying. I found a video comparing the X-Line to the SX-Prestige. Turns out the panoramic roof is not standard on the SX-Prestige. Called the dealership and after they looked it up it was discovered they told us incorrectly and the car did not have the roof. My wife decided although she was disappointed about the roof, the color and other options were more important to her. The delivery date changed several times, but we did eventually take delivery. These issues are not what has us upset. They flat out LIED to us about our trade. They did offer it for sale on their lot at $8k above what they gave us. Now the issue is this was always their intention. I'm sure they failed to mention the $13k repair from a deer hit and the $6k repair from being hit by another car. The very reasons they low-balled us on trade in. We totally understand the diminished value from its history, but we, as well as the subsequent purchaser have been taken advantage of by their dishonest culture. read more

The Kia service here sucks. I had a 5 pm oil change and rotation scheduled.I was on time and waited almost two hours . I went to service writer and he went to check on it only to find the service was not started car was never in the service area. Had a spark plug blow out of Toyota 4runner block after service down the street Carelessness at its finest! We bought a Kia Telluride from here last month, we sat down at the table with the salesman and agreed on our trade in price. Then we agreed on our monthly bi weekly payment price. $588 a month bi weekly would be $294. We agreed on a number that my wife and I were comfortable with. When it came down to signing the paperwork. The finance manager said that everything was set and ready for our signatures. He talked way to much and now looking back at it, it seemed like he was being to friendly, for a suspicious reason. We said again "this is our monthly bi weekly price, correct ($294)" he assured us that it was correct. My wife and I reviewed the paperwork and we signed it all. A month went by, we got the paperwork from the bank with all of the details. Come to find out our payment was not the same price we agreed on. It was somehow $632 now. We shook hands on a price and unfortunately the paperwork on their end didn't match. I called the salesmen who helped us. He told me he would talk to the boss and have him call us. He never called us, I called back they told us to call the bank. My wife went to the bank, all for us to be told that the bank can't do anything about it. Plain and simple what happened to us, is a sly snake move. You can't tell someone this is the price of your monthly and change it after we leave or do it without us knowing. They sold a used Honda Civic to an 18 year old private who's only been in the Army for seven months. She didn't know any better and assumed the salesman wasn't lying to her. They got her to sign for the car for $5,000 over its value. Luckily our legal team in our unit was able to force them to take it back. I bought a certified pre owned White Jeep Patriot March 22, 2019 from Jones Kia it had 21,605 miles on it. It was my intention to provide a safe and reliable vehicle for me and my little girl. This vehicle is being financed, I have never missed a payment or been late on this vehicle. I also purchased the value guard extended warranty by Ally Premier Protection and the perma plate warranty for appearance protection. This vehicle also came with some Jeep Warranties as well. My biggest complaint about this dealership is that I have been back and forth for repairs on the vehicle. My concerns are dismissed a minimum of three times before they attempt to fix any issue. March 30,2019 I brought the vehicle back because there was something wrong with the right wheel on the vehicle and the backing plate. I was told it was fine they bent something and its good to go. The issue kept happening, I bought the car again July 18, 2019 to the Jeep Chrysler service side and they told me I had items lose in my trunk, nothing was wrong with it. I brought the car in again a few months later, with frustration found out my wheel barrow and something else was completely messed up. I was covered under warranty so it was finally fixed. Please note everything I am telling you is typed on the repair orders as proof. I brought my car on November 11, 2020 to the Jeep Chrysler Service side and I explained the car was losing acceleration and jerking.  They dismissed my concern and changed the oil. The car continued to present this issue, I bought the car on January 14, 2021 back to Jeep Chrysler service side because the car jerked and lost acceleration continuously. They ignored my concern. I brought the car to the Jones Kia side of service hoping they would fix it sometime in February. My concern was again dismissed. I bought the car in again to Jeep Chrysler March 16, 2021  finally demanding they take a look at this issue. My service advisor Melissa insisted nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I needed to change the spark plugs, transmission fluid and RD fluid. So I paid the dealership $556 and believed them. After this service Monday March 22,2021, the check engine light came on and the car was having the same losing acceleration and power issues along with jerking. I called the Chrysler Dealership Shaun the service manager told me to bring the car in. I did, he checked the codes they were P2110 electronic throttle control system bank limited RPM, and P2112 electronic throttle control system unable to open. Along with codes TCM, ABS, implausible data received from ECM/PCM. Shaun the service Manager states, it's nothing wrong with the car he can clear out the codes. (If you are not sure about these code please google. These are dangerous codes to drive in, this mean the air to your engine is compromised and some component of your electrical system is failing).I told him no to keep the car and look at it. At this point, I get Larry Kropff involved the General Manager, involved. He puts Shaun in three way phone call and asks him what notes did he put in repair order, Shaun stated I put the customer says the car is jerking. Larry states no why did you not put the codes listed. Shaun stutters states he will put the codes on repair order. Larry told him do not catch Amnesia and Ms. Turner is out of warranty and out of a vehicle. Fast forward to Wednesday March 24, 2021. Shaun has service advisor Dawn to call me and tell me my throttle body is bad and my electric system. I came that day pick car up, same issue still present. I had to leave it there again.Bottom line do not buy from this company. Larry Kropff later told me I could go to a different Jeep dealership when I expressed my concern and he admitted that it was unsafe of Shaun to offer to clear codes and let me drive.There is no Jones for Lifetime. Please note my car has 57, 996 miles on it. I was was informed March 27, 2021 there are two coils bad on my vehicle, and I was asked my Ernie the other Service manager when is the last time I had my spark plugs changed( Shake my head) By your department March 16, 2021. I have my car back, as of March 27, 2021 but I am not sure if issue is really fixed. I bought all these warranties only to have to find another dealership that may honor them and treat me with respect. I am a Jones customer for life! Admittedly I have only purchased from Jones Hyundai, but I continue to go back for the Jones family atmosphere. When my mom told me she was shopping for new cars, I knew Jones was the place to go. Despite now living over an hour away, we made the trip. Kia was our first stop. I could not have been more disappointed. When we arrived, the first salesman did not know much about any of the cars we were interested in. I would think that with the limited amount of new cars on the lot, that the salesperson would be an expert in all of them. But... no. I learned more from Google than anything he could offer us. To keep my long frustrating story short, after our first test drive.. we somehow got mixed up in a salesman dispute on who we were "working with." Went there to get tire fixed. It had slow leak that was starting to leak faster. I was losing over 20psi a day. The rep said the tech filled the tire with air, ran his hand all over the tire and couldn't find the leak. They didn't immerse the tire under water to find the source of the leak. They refused to do it. I definitely do not plan on returning here for any service. Update: I went to the M&J Complete Auto Care shop in Bel Air. They found the leak immediately and got it fixed in 20 minutes! So is the Jones Kia shop incompetent, lazy, or what? read more

I went to this location for an oil change and tire rotation with my Prius because the Jones Toyota service location was booked. I 'did' like this location better than Toyota because it was quieter and the service was much faster. However, the next time I drove my car I realized a lug nut was loose on one of my tires. Loose enough I was able to pull it off with just a quarter turn. This must explain the speediness of their service. I took it back, the representative was apologetic and after a short wait I had my car back with a promise everything was checked over and correct. After I got home, out of curiosity, I reviewed my dashcam footage from my car. It was not a hidden camera as the video and mic icon are clearly displayed on the video screen on the rear view mirror in my car. Interesting in the variations of conversations. The representative was concerned though the person he was explaining the situation to was not as concerned. It can be heard him stating that all the lug nuts were tightly secure but he would check them in case I wanted to take my, "fine turbo machine and peel out of the garage". They proceeded to the garage where another employee pretends to hit the hood of my car with his clipboard while laughing and another gets into the driver's seat and states, "I hate these cars". Yes, I understand, not everyone is a fan of the Turbo Charge High Horsepower Prius as they called it. But interestingly everyone at Jones was a huge fan when they convinced me to buy it. I love my car, I also love my family, so when lug nuts are falling off the tires after only approximately 30 miles of driving, I have a concern. And my concern is the mechanic's laziness of professionalism and quality control, could have easily turned my car in an accident waiting to happen. read more

Buyer beware of this dealership and Kia brand. I had a major horrible scare with my Kia Niro within the first few weeks of owning with a very strong gasoline and burning smells in the cabin of the car. First I thought that maybe I spilled gas on myself, but no, it was coming out of the vents each time I either ran the AC or heat didn't matter what setting you had it on it was bad. Along with the gas smell there was also a burnt wire/plastic smell which was so bad I was expecting to see smoke or flames coming out of the vents, it never did. Both smells made me completely nauseous and sick each time I had to drive the car I had to put the windows down to feel better. I no longer own this car but want to get the word out about this dealership before anyone else gets hurt. Buyer Beware!!! This Dealership laughed at me and said it was part of the break-in process I said no way, and it made me very upset that they would laugh at a possible car catching on fire, I've owned enough brand new cars and these smells were not typical break in smells, they didn't find anything wrong with the car as I couldn't deal with the sickening odors anymore as it was only getting worse. I felt so uncomfortable in the car feeling this sick. There were other things among the smells just didn't seem well for a brand car it lacked power and had jerky/missing during acceleration. It's bad when a dealership could care less about your well being and ripping family members off who bought from here also. Good bye KIA brand. I ended up trading it in on a 2019 Buick Encore at which has been a wonderful vehicle and the Boyle Buick dealership has been great in the past month since my trade of the junky KIA. Jones techs have the mechanical knowledge of a thumbtack NOTHING and I mean NOTHING will get done in a reasonable amount of time. Horrible in every sense of the term. I have been dealing with their kia service department several times since the purchase of our soul. We have received top notch results ever time. Recently we sold the soul and bought a used Sorento. Because it was the first car that I test drove, my sister thought it would be better if I test drove some other cars before I make an impulsive buy. So we came here to browse for a used car within my budget and my taste. The car salesman greeted us with a friendly smile and was extremely professional. I showed me their used car selection which was small but they carried a good variety of cars. There was the car of my dreams....the Altima coupe and it was within price range. I could have melted. The car salesman drew everything up and gave me the keys to test drive. He immediately gave me all the details of the car which were useful because it was everything I was looking for. But I got in and the car and I was not a match... and blah blah blah long story short. Knowing what I wanted and catching on that I wanted a reliable and good looking modern car... he introduced me to the newer Kia vehicles, which I ultimately selected and purchased. He worked with me and made my first solo purchase deal easy as pie. All the staff was friendly and they accountant who handled the financing was full of knowledge and told me everything I needed to do to secure my first loan and how it will help build my credit even more. He gave me the best deal.... even better than the first car loan that I received from the bank. They also introduced me to the service dept manager and this dealership offers free oil changes for the life of the car!! AAAAND FREE MANIs!! Oh yeah, thats the way to this girls heart. All in all, I love my car, I love this dealership and I would recommend anyone to try them for the purchase of their new vehicle. Oh! the best part, since it was near my birthday that I made the purchase, my silly self asked if there was a big red bow available since it was my gift to myself... the salesman looked everywhere for one and even called his wife!! Horrible experience. Car was sold out from under my nose, tried to do a bait and switch, lied to about needing to buy service options, sales pressure tactics, poor communication, no discussion on discounts (loyalty or veteran), and saving the good deals for their friends and family. I went into Jones Kia knowing exactly what I wanted and I needed a guide through the purchase process. Instead I got a pushy staff (salesman, manager and financer) trying to sell to me a different car and options that I didn't want or need. I love the car, but I will never go back to Jones Kia ever again. For now on, I will go to either Bob Bell or Laurel Kia. read more

My husband and I ordered a car in Oct 2020 and put down a down payment. We were told the car would be in by December and we never heard from Kia again. When December came around we called the salesman we were working with and he never answered our calls or called us back, ever. So we talked to the sales manager who just just as unhelpful. He told us he would look into it and call us back and never did. So my husband had to call again, the manager told him they were holding off on ordering the car so they can hit their January numbers and that the car would finally be ordered first week of January. Its Jan 19th and nothing has been ordered yet. We canceled our order after numerous unanswered phone calls. Had we not called anyone at Jones Kia we wouldn't have heard from them since Oct. Save your time and energy, go somewhere else. These employees are lazy and unmotivated to sell anything. After reading many reviews, it seems that this place has zero respect for service members. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

I really don't have many positive things to say about this place. They order a replacement part for my car (a backup camera) and don't even bother to call me when it comes in, so I have to end up calling them, after waiting for weeks. They just recently, were supposed to order another part (fuel lid catch), for my car. I was waiting for their call, and they didn't call again, so I called them, to find out they never even ordered the part. Maybe they don't have enough employees or they're over worked, I don't know, but it sure doesn't make me wanna buy another Kia. read more

In 2012, my family and I had just moved to Baltimore, MD, had been renting a car, and needed to purchase one quickly. We decided in a used one; saw some great cars on Jones Kia's webpage and drove 40 miles to see them in person. Arriving; my wife and then 1 year old, it was obvious we all were stressed, desperate, determined, in a rush, and with little to no experience purchasing a car before. First, the online, online staffers document, sticker and salesmen/manager prices of the vehicles were all different from each other (later, after our decided purchase, we learned that each of their prices are higher per car than any place else. For Example, we purchased a 2007 Santa Fe Hyundai with 89000 miles for what we thought was the best deal of the multiple prices...15k, which my wife had a time talking them into what they knew was still a rip-off. Later we saw the same make/model for 7k to 8k less). Secondly, and to make matters worst they tried to make us purchase a useless warranty which was promoted as required, then the Lifetime "free" oil change, nails and popcorn, car wash, etc, "ain't " free at all...check your bill for an item called Aftermarket". Although we paid this cost we refused to take our car there again for anything especially the so-called "free" perks. At jones kia, the free, like the used comes out expensive. Believe me, our experience was not a charm. But surely a learning experience. You don't pet the dog that bit you again. Having and loving our Santa Fe to this day has nothing to do with Jones Kia, but rather the quality of the car. Except for general maintenance, we put very little extra or unexpected cost into the vehicle which drives wonderfully. And they and other cars are sold less expensively, without trickery. Every place else. Shop, shop and the shop around some more. read more

If you support the U.S. Military, don't spend your money at this establishment. If you are reading this consider yourself lucky and walk, jog, run, Uber or roll away from the Jones establishment as soon as humanly possible. If you fail to heed this warning, you will regret your decision. The reason for review is an on going situation I one of my Soldiers had with this establishment. They attempted to sell my Soldier a 2011 Honda Civic for over 17,000$. Of course they could find financing for that amount because the car is only worth $8,500. When she went to turn the car in because the financing fell threw she was told that she couldn't turn the car in, and would have to sign new paperwork for it. They reduced the price by $2,300. So that they could get it financed. At this point the Soldier had decided she didn't want anything to do with this dealership because of all the lies she had been told. The Store Manager personally told her that she was required by MD state law to purchase a $2,500 service plan for the vehicle, and they could not remove it from her contract. They also told her that "we (her supervisors) were not able to see the paperwork before she signed it because they were legal documents with personal information on it". Even though the Soldier was perfectly happy to allow us to review the sales contract to make sure she wasn't being ripped off. The sales manager had her so scared that she was literally shaking, and they did not care even a little. They were only worried about making the sale, no matter how bad of a deal it was. At the end of the day we left the keys with the sales manager and walked out and went to grab some lunch. The sales manager said we weren't allowed to do that and that the vehicle was hers. But this was also a lie. That vehicle is currently listed on their website for sale. Once again, do what ever you possibly can to avoid this establishment. read more

Don't go to Jones if you are looking for a used car. I inquired about a used Kia and was given the worst run-around. I kept asking for a price of the car and was being told that if I wasn't going to BUY TODAY, they couldn't give me a price. Athena kept going back and forth to the manager and when she went back to him the third time, I walked out of the store. One of the managers, I guess he was, came running out the door when he saw me leaving and asked me if there was a problem. YES THERE WAS A PROBLEM. FIRST, I REFUSE TO PLAY THEIR GAMES, AND SECOND, I WAS READY TO PURCHASE THAT DAY, HOWEVER ITS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO BUY A CAR WITHOUT KNOWING HOW MUCH IT COSTS. I have never seen anything so ridiculous. I told him if he ever came up with a final price, he could email me. Of course I never heard a word. Since that time I have called several dealers and gotten the full price of a vehicle emailed to me with all costs spelled out in the email.
