    Restaurant 1920 - Chicken Parmesan

A friend suggested Restaurant 1920, and I'm really glad he did. This is one of those places I've…read moreprobably driven past a million times--always noticing something was going on in the building, but never quite sure what. Turns out, it's a great spot. The restaurant is built around a 1920s theme and runs very differently from a traditional restaurant. There are no waiters or waitresses. You enter through the back door (the only entrance), where a sign tells you to seat yourself. We went on a Saturday night, there were several groups ahead of us, and we waited about 20 minutes for an open table. The place was packed. Once seated, you immediately notice how well done the dining room is. I was wearing a Carhartt sweatshirt and felt very underdressed. It's BYOB--most people brought wine; I brought a growler of beer. There is a bar, but they only serve mocktails due to liquor license restrictions. There are no physical menus. You order everything through your phone using a QR code. They don't seem big on substitutions or changes, and since there's no server, there's really no one to ask--something to keep in mind. The food, however, is fantastic. I had the stuffed pork chop with mashed potatoes and a mushroom gravy that was outstanding (especially if you like mushrooms). My wife ordered the chicken Parmesan and said it was excellent as well. When your food is ready, it's placed on a table under heat lamps with your table number displayed. There are a couple employees floating around--more like bus staff than servers. We were out with another couple, and one meal wasn't ready when the other three were. An employee noticed and brought the remaining dish directly to our table, which was appreciated. You're expected to clean your own table when finished. I didn't see anything about tipping, and most tables either left nothing or a very small tip, which was honestly refreshing. This isn't a traditional dining experience, and it's clearly intentional. I applaud them for trying something different. The place was full, the food was excellent, and despite the impersonal setup, everything ran smoothly. We'll definitely be back.

If you are going in the middle of day and like to bring your own beer than I guess it ain't so bad, but if you are looking for attractive women than this is not for you. Also, $30 fully clothed lap dances and $40 topless is double pretty much every other club, luckily you won't want to get a lap dance so it's not an issue.

It was just an inept attempt to lure unsuspecting clients into the club because of their lack of "gorgeous" women. Read the reviews by customers on The Ultimate Strip Club List (TUSCL) and see how many rate this club as "terrible". Turnover is high because dancers aren't making money here and going elsewhere. Girls, keep this in mind before considering to audition at Pole Position. This is not a truly "nude" club because the overwhelming majority of dancers are only topless on stage and will only get nude at their discretion during an overpriced private dance. Customers, keep your eye on the clock because you will frequently be beaten out of time during your peculiarly timed dance. Lastly, don't expect to find a champagne room/court because there isn't one! Just a tiny room barely big enough for two with a couch and an obtrusive camera. I doubt there's so much as a champagne glass in the entire joint! TUSCL reviewer AJJS wrote, "burning my money might have been better." It was not an absolutely perfect dining experience, but I will give kudos where kudos are deserved. I will say, the outside of the restaurant gives way more opulent feel than what is on the inside. The villa looks like one out of Italy with statues on the property, a nice little outdoor area to run around (if you ask my almost 2 year old). The inside is casual, so no need to get overly dressed up like my family did (unless you want to). Fresh baked rolls and a pesto oil are set on the table to start. It was a bad day to be roll and oil at our table. While I was not incredibly overwhelmed by the dipping oil, the majority of our party was practically fighting over the little dish of green-oil-goodness. All of the entrees are served with soup or salad. The salad was a little sad, but it wasn't enough to ruin the review. I just assumed the balsamic dressing was a vinaigrette and not just straight acid burning your insides. The calamari was good! Perfectly crisp, accompanied by the perfect marinara for dipping. As for entrees, I went with the limoncello entree with chicken. The sweet lemon cream sauce, is unlike anything I've ever tried, and perfectly paired with asparagus, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes over linguini. Would order again, but also would likely order a different dish because there were so many delicious looking entrees across the table. I was most intrigued by the dishes that our party got with the cheese sacchetti. They are like most other cheese filled pastas but the shape and texture really gave you a lovely pop of cheese as you bite into it. The waitress was fine- not friendly, but also didn't mess anything up, aside from not bringing a dish for disposing shells from the seafood rissoto (she's forgiven). All-in-all, I look forward to returning, again!

I am not 100% certain that Uncle Ricky's offers inside seating: the main dining areas are outside, complete with a full bar that's enclosed (but still outside). There is a second bar that's fully exposed to the elements. It is definitely a low-key, relaxing environment and very enjoyable when the weather cooperates! Some key takeaways from our visit that may help out fellow would-be patrons: there isn't any draft beer. No big deal. I tried one of the specialty drinks called Cherry Ale and wow was it amazing! Uncle Ricky's offers standard "bar food" fare but above and beyond that, there's a full menu of items available as well as daily specials. A friend of mine likes Uncle Ricky's because they offer many seafood dinner options. There is also a strong chance of live music. Their Facebook page will alert you to the evening's specials as well as if there is a band playing or not. On Friday, there was a band and yes, it was pretty loud, but this didn't impact our evening negatively. Also, it's a bar atmosphere populated with regulars and locals. We find the buzz of a busy environment, filled with people enjoying life a rather pleasant experience. If you're looking for a more intimate, quiet place then you may want to reconsider. The server we had was attentive and pleasant. I also think the pricing of food and drink was extremely reasonable. Good service, a nice variety of different food options, and a relaxing atmosphere - what more do you need? For these reasons, I would patronize Uncle Ricky's again and recommend this business to others who are seeking a similar experience.
