Jong's Thai Kitchen is a hidden GEM of Topeka. It is by far my favorite Asian restaurant in the area, and the owners are very sweet. My personal favorite is Melissa's Chicken; it will not disappoint. *IMPORTANT* The restaurant is cute and quaint, but there is limited seating. I recommend ALWAYS calling ahead or making a reservation if you want to eat inside. If you can't get a reservation, ordering takeout is quick and equally delicious. read more

We love Thai food and while traveling decided to stop here, best decision ever! The food is affordable and delicious. The Thai tea was excellent as well. We took our carry out to the park across the street. The staff were so accommodating to our hungry toddler and gave him some fresh fruit and rice with egg while we waited. Jong's may be the best Thai food I have had in the country and quite possibly in the world. The flavors, spices were all incredibly well executed. I am a huge Thai foodie and make a point to try the best in every area I have lived in or traveled to. I have not had every layer of flavor hit like this in a very long time. The prices are great and service is fantastic too! This may be my favorite local gem in Topeka thus far. I highly recommend the Tom Kha, Red Curries, and Pad Thai. The food was outstanding! We made reservations a while ago and were excited to try Jong's! Our waiter was lovely, and the kitchen sent out multiple appetizers as a "thank you for making the reservation" which we all thought was super cool! The green beans they sent out were to die for!! I ordered to go twice and both times were absolutely phenomenal. The food is authentic and the staff are all great. When I called in the order, they communicated they were running a little behind and they would call me back in an hour to check if I still wanted me food. They called me back less than an hour later, I confirmed my order, and it was ready in less than 15 min. They threw in a set of free spring rolls to make up for the delay. I am working in Topeka for a few days from out of state and was hoping to find some good Asian food- what a surprise!!! I usually find the worse place to try but I lucked out this evening! I ordered the egg rolls & crispy fried garlic chicken (hot) and was not disappointed! Very tasty and just the perfect "hot". Not to mention that they were very busy- wait was to be 40 minutes- but they not only called me when they were able to fill my order earlier but they topped my order off with pot stickers and a chai tea ( tai chi- inside joke!) Wow, so glad I checked this place out. It's in an unassuming older brick building across from a park. I came famished after speaking all morning and did not leave disappointed. I had the Pad Ga Pow Wok and sweet green ice tea. The jasmine rice, peppers and seasoning in this stir-fry was just right. I also enjoyed the coconut sticky rice for dessert. Just had lunch for two and it was excellent (Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Green Curry). We had a wonderful starter plate of cream cheese won tons and pot-stickers. After paying the modest bill for a perfect meal, we were given a free desert of sliced ripe mangos with a light dusting of fried mung beans...really hit the spot! All the staff seemed genuinely happy to have our company and the place is intimate, quiet, and a wonderful change from a chain restaurant. read more

Absolutely incredible!! We wondered why there were little serving spoons with our forks. We found out why - The sauces are beyond heaven and a new sauce creation with every dish. You can't help yourself spooning up every drop. "Fresh" describes everything. We were given the oh so light,and crispy delicious Rangoon to try. Oh wow! Fried fresh green beans - crispy, yet fresh and light with a peanut sauce underneath to spoon out that was just to die for. I do not like peanut sauce, I wanted to lick the bowl. The shrimp dumplings were perfect, so light and freshly made with another sauce to knock your socks off. Those were just the generous appetizers. Wow!! We loved that we had a family style option to share everything easily. I had the Larb, mint cucumber lime chicken salad and my husband ordered the Melissa's chicken. The fresh taste and gorgeous sauces continued. OH MY WORD!!!!!!! Just outstanding! Reserve your table in advance, they book up fast. My first Thai food experience, and I was completely blown away. I had the Khao Man Gai Wok with fried chicken. Having no previous experience with this cuisine, I ordered it because it was fun to say. Best thai food I have ever had. EVER. And I speak with experience. The panang curry was soooooooooooooo GOOOODDD. Usually there are leftovers when I eat thai, but not this time. Definitely can't go wrong at Jong's. My husband and I took our neighbors there last night to dine. I had made the reservations a month in advance, which you pretty much need to do to make sure they can seat you. The food and the service was excellent. This was our fourth time eating there but our neighbor's first time. I think they were impressed with the entire experience. And it is an EXPERIENCE, a fine one at that. I went during lunch and had a wonderful experience. Tables were clean and spaced apart, and COVID precautions were being upheld. We shared their garden rolls, thai peanut salad, and I got a medium-spiced Tom Yum soup. The rolls and salad were delicious and reasonably sized with great condiments. Their soup was the best I've had. Additionally, the staff and owners were so friendly and accommodating, really making it a comfortable and wonderful environment. I highly recommend!
