Poor front desk customer service. I understand having a car towed is frustrating but this review is for the poor attitude front desk woman who lied about everything. I asked if my car had been accessed as I felt it had been wrongfully towed. She said no and that no access was documented on my receipt. (It was not on my receipt and someone was driving my car without me viewing it first) I then asked if any photos had been taken to prove they didn't remove anything prior to towing. She once again said no. But there was proof and the driver was able to show me a time stamped photo-- thankfully he was great It could have been a super simple fix to make someone feel more comfortable but instead she either wasn't educated how to do her job which lead to incorrect answers every time she spoke or she was just extremely rude. This place over charged claiming the car was held 3 days and it's literally only 48 hours. We also called to get information if the car was drivable and they said yes when arrived that was not true and they charged another $200 to tow 1 mile away after not providing accurate information and overcharging an extra day. My car was towed by my building when I had to pull my car to a spot because a selfish neighbor pulled into my spot. There was no street parking so I had to park out of the way in my building. My car was towed. I don't know who called. But it was Sunday, and today being President's Day, the towing company isn't open. They told me I can get my car and pay an extra $150 for an after hours gate fee. With my car already costing $513 to get out. Or I could wait until tomorrow when they're open and pay $77 because they're charging me for the day that they're closed. So either way I am being ripped off. They should have to be open and give you the option to get your car, if they're going to be able to charge you for a day. Instead of charging you double to get your car out while they're closed. Of course I'm going to have to pay for an extra day, because no one's going to take this up as a problem in the law. This happened a while ago but I want to let everyone who is reading this to know. I got in a car accident at Hwy 2 around 2am. When that company towed my car to the junked, the tow driver charged me $200 in hand. After that, I decided to pick it up days later just to find out that another $200 is charged along with the rest are storage fees. Why tf did he charge me $200 at first if they already going to charge me it at the final bill. This place is a shady ass business. September 3, 2007, CHP tows my 2006 GMC truck to Jon's towing. I go to pick my truck up on the same day and I'm told by the owner: "I can't release your truck to you, it has a 30 day hold by the CHP" I called my Lawyer while standing in the waiting room: "my Lawyer calls them on the phone, he tells them you're holding his truck illegally and you will be Investigated and sued if you don't release his property back to him" The owner asked; Lawyer, you have a lawyer? ... as the phone rings, it's my lawyer calling to explain the law to this towing company. Jon's Towing illegally placed a sign on our house (a PRIVATE RESIDENCE) advertising their business and purporting to tow illegally parked vehicles. We did not give them permission to do this, nor did they ask us. This is trespassing and vandalism, not to mention that placing a sign on a private property without the owner's permission is a misdemeanor in and of itself. This sign is now permanently affixed to our home and will damage our stucco to remove. We immediately reached out to the towing company and were unable to speak to the owner or even a manager. We have now had to call the police to take a report and will be taking legal steps if we cannot reach a satisfactory resolution. Strangest of all is that their sign is clearly LA County based, but we are in Ventura County. This means it has the wrong police phone number on it -- so it's not even accurate! My first bad review goes to Jons Towing! If I could give ZERO stars I so would. I have never dealt with such a petty petty company. Got home at 1045pm and due to the major road work by DWP on Foothill as well as the construction of new buildings across from us, I thought it would be ok to park in front of MY GARAGE till a spot opened up.... So this Co. saw an opportunity with the gate broken, drove in, saw my car and towed it. When I went to pick it up they tried to say the management/HOA company (that is not on site) called them to have it towed. At 11:50pm, it was gone and they really think I'm going to believe the management called them at 1045 and within an hour it was gone. Come on, your too funny. My boyfriend wasn't that pleasant when we went to pick up the car, but when the management came to the desk, he could of been a real manager and dealt with the situation instead of being a complete jack a$$. I had half cash and my boyfriend was going to pay the other half. He refused to take the payment. He had our car and knew he could be an a-hole about every little thing and he chose to do just that. Even down to the signature on the credit slip. You have my ID, verified it, charged my card and still had the nerve to be petty enough to make me sign again. Then he says you don't like it, write a review. Wow! Ok, so here's your review. A company that will ask for a review knowing it's going to be bad, doesn't give a crap about customer service. They towed OUR car, from OUR parking spot, at 10:30 at night, while we had the parking permit clearly VISIBLE. They were incredibly rude when we called to find out what had happened. Currently stuck on the highway about 1-2 miles from the next exit. Highway patrol says we're my car is stalled isn't safe and we need to move off the highway. 511 is working to get someone dispatched to move us to safety. I have USAA insurance and AAA as well. They have a tow truck in route about an hour and 15 minutes from now. I simply need to be towed off the highway. Here comes "Jon's towing" to save the day. A one is so generous. I wish there was a zero option. "Jons Towing" towed my car from a gated community where we were buzzed in by a resident and we had a guest pass on the dash. The pass must have slipped down when we closed the door and so the car was towed. It was 12.30am when we discovered the car was towed. We called "Jons Towing". They confirmed they had the car. Jons-Towing told us it will cost us $350 to get it. We said we will be there in 15 minutes. No one was at "Jons Towing" upon arrival. We called. The guy who represents "Jons Towing" said he will be there in 10 minutes. He arrived 20 minutes later and started "helping" us, then got another call and said he had to leave and someone else will come. Half an hour later we called "Jons-Towing" again. He couldn't tell us if and when somebody else from "Jons-Towing" would be coming. At 1:30 AM we called "Jons-Towing" again he said that they were closed and we never made an appointment. I said we did make an appointment and that he was there for the appointment and then he left us. He then put the phone down on me. Called back, no answer. Called again, eventually he answered and said he was just going to make us wait longer if we call again. We called an uber at 2am and left "Jons Towing" car-less. We had to uber back to get it. More cost incurred due to "Jons Towing" very bad customer service. So, tow our car for no reason, ask for a ransom which we agreed to pay just to get the car, before we can pay rush off to capture another car to hold for ransom money and leave us stranded at 1.30 in the morning. How can this be legal? How can "Jons Towing" get away with treating people this way???? I certainly hope that HOA's will at least try and use an ethical towing company instead of "Jons Towing" if they feel the need to tow their residents guests cars who have been buzzed in to their gated parking lot. read more

My neighbor had a flat tire and left her car parked in the red while waiting for help changing her tire. Jon's Towing hooked it up and attempted to take her car. She explained her car was disabled and would move it once her tire was repaired. She was charged $180 to unhook her car from the truck. We live in a private gated community; according to our CC&R's the tow company can ONLY respond and tow a car if an "authorized" representative signs for the tow. I see tow trucks constantly driving through at all hours, which would lead me to believe they are not following the rules and guidelines of our HOA. A message to Jon's Towing-I will continue to monitor times your trucks are seen in my community. I will then check these times with our HOA to confirm you are here on a legitimate call. If In fact you are violating the guidelines you agreed to per our HOA, I will ensure you are investigated and held responsible for your actions. If you feel you have been illegally towed, make a call to the BBB. This can only stop if multiple complaints are filed. read more

Still not too happy about someone being parked in my spot THREE NIGHTS IN A ROW and our tow service not being able to pick the car up because all towing has to be authorized by an apartment manager... Then, contact your bank and contest the amount you had to pay. Third, contact your local representative and let them know what they are doing. Fourth, contact the Better Business Bureau and file a claim. The person driving was charred a drop fee and when I called the company and supervising manager about seeing photos of the car (as the person driving said it was not hooked up to tow) and a copy of the policy no one responded to my call. Wow, a towing company and an official impound lot. Even I understand that they are bound to lack 5 star reviews from people, even if such a business is ethical and acting within the law. My situation however is a tad bit unique and I feel that it needs to be known and heard before a public forum or outlet, such as the one that exists on Yelp. On the evening of Saturday, February 14th (Valentine's Day), my wife and I came home after dinner and a movie and parked our rental car in front of our garage, in our community (condo) at approximately 2:00am. We rented a Suburban which was too large to park inside our private garage, to go on a trip on the 15th, and planned to head out by 6:30am that same morning. Jumping forward, the car gets towed at 6:07am, right from the front of my own, personal, garage. Had the vehicle been parked in such a way as to block someone, or cause anyone any sort of inconvenience, in any way, I would be the first to admit guilt on my part. This was not the case and although there were several other cars parked in front of their own respective garages as such is a norm, I did not blame the tow truck company for this, as they were doing their job upon receiving an apparent call from someone. I'll be the first to admit that our community does have written rules, one of which specifies that such a parking arrangement is not permitted, however, this private community as a whole largely ignores this and parking in such a fashion usual. Rules are rules, as we teach our kids, whether they are followed by everyone or not, so I agreed not to fight it and just pay the tow company, pick up the Suburban, and be on our way. Here's where the fun starts: I called the towing company and reached the owner, Jon. I provided my information, including our address, and he confirmed that the Suburban was at his facility. I explained our travel arrangements to Jon and indicated that I will be heading out to his lot, in order to pay for and pick up the vehicle. Jon's response was that he won't release the car until 10 o'clock that morning, although he towed the car at 6am, at which time I reiterated that we need to head out and can't possibly wait until 10, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. My wife decided to call Jon and was understandably upset, speaking in a tone of a mother of two, who's long awaited plans for her family are being compromised by someone's ego and seemingly lackluster compassion. In response, Jon completely flips out and says that he will now hold the car until Monday and there's nothing we can do about it. Both of us are in disbelief, considering we have to be on our way and are already running late. We have several people waiting for us, with whom we made these plans. Needless to say, our trip, and our day was entirely ruined by the actions of one ignorant and insensitive individual. I arrived at the tow lot on Monday at 9:30am, and find that I'm being overcharged. 1) Presidents day - supposedly they do not work since it's a holiday, but there are at least 5 employees that are there. $90 dollars extra for that! 2) They towed on Sunday 6:07am and I was there on Monday 9:30am so for 2 hours and 23 minutes they charged me additional $90 for that as well! So the total came out to $369 3) As indicated in Civil Code CVC 22658(n)(2)(A), the car must be available for pick up 365 days a year 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. The owner, Jon, decided to hold the vehicle hostage for 24 hours in order to scam us for the extra fee's I described above, that is against the law. As you arrive at the tow lot gate, there is no buzzer, bell, or intercom. When someone finally managed to tend to me, they spoke through a 8x8 inch window. If you say something like, "I'm not going to relinquish the keys to you to have you look for my registration located amongst certain personal items within the vehicle, they close the window and ignore you- essentially robbing you of your rights as a law abiding citizen of the United States of America. They would not let me inside the lot and every time the guy went to open my car to look for my rental agreement, it would take him 20 min to do that, then another 20 min to give me a receipt and make a copy of my driver's license. All while standing in the ever so unsafe SFV heat with no shade. I doubt they could care any less. Jon and his Jon's Towing company are nothing more than impound crooks, operating no different than bandit tow lots who hold your car for ransom. *TIP - They ask you to sign 2 documents, #1 is the receipt and #2 reads, "I have received the vehicle in satisfactory condition with no further damages from the towing company site". You have to sign the second document without being given an opportunity to check the car in order to verify this. How clever of them! FELLOW YELPERS, BE CAREFUL! Don't sign the secondary document until you actually see the car you are picking up. Another fun fact, their disclosed rates proclaim "LIEN SALE IN 72 hours". read more

I wouldn't be surprised if profanity was in the the woman, who answers the phone, every day language. If they tell you they will be over in 20 minutes, you might as well go see a movie because they came one hour and 30 minutes later to serve us. Every time we called to see where their progress was, the woman who answered the phone would half heartedly attempt to persuade that it will only be "another twenty minutes." After a long, dragged out wait, the towing company finally came. Not to my surprise the amateur towers had lost their invoice and had to leave again to go searching for that piece of paper. Terrible costumer service. My car was towed last month (my fault) after picking up my car I noticed my driver side door had damage to it. The door does not close properly anymore so it rattles and you can hear the wind noise a lot as if the window was open while driving. They scratched my lock handle also. I tried emailing them but doubt their systems even work. I also called and a rude receptionist answered with attitude. Called the office and they claimed it was not them and instead said it was maybe the bad neighborhood. So I'll be filing a claim against them. read more
