Was told I had to submit an e-mail for a quote, then they would talk to me about sending someone out. We have had five awnings done by Jon's on an apartment building. Jon's also replaced all of the windows in the same building a couple of years ago. The window replacement was complicated because a lot of the windows had to be modified to meet fire codes. Jon's and their subcontractors worked well with the tenants, cleaned up after themselves and produced a good result. We needed to replace all the old aluminum windows in our home with energy efficient vinyl to stop the heat loss we were feeling during the winter (and A/C loss we would feel around summer time). Jon came out and measured all the windows and told me about the available discounts through the manufacturer and the City of Burbank. He showed up on time, provided the quote the next day and provided additional quotes in a timely manner as we were trying to decide on different window configurations. It's a "family business" but they use salesmen, pushing products and not listening what is requested. I asked that a section of windows be replaced. I was told oh, we can't do that, it would require plans and a permit! Oh my god. This is Burbank. We have gotten several permits with no problems. This company is referred by Milgard Windows, but they are a stop and switch shop. It's ashame. I just had the roof replaced by a reputable Burbank true family business. Absolutely excellent job. Sorry this window company is just a front for salesmen that can't deal with a job that requires a building permit! There are other contractors who take advantage of people of rely on "burbank family business." Sorry this is one of one. Oh, and when I called and said I wanted an estimate on the job requested, the phone person just saie, "We don't like your attitude." Jon and Connie are great! They are not pushy in the sales and try to get you what you want and need unlike a lot of window places. They were more than helpful and had great customer service. I did have an issue with a manufacture defect with one of the Millgard doors but my issues were quickly addressed by Jon and Connie who made sure the manufacture took care of my issue and it was resolved as quickly as possible. We've been using Jon's Window & Awning for years on various projects and the window replacement on our property was the biggest to date. Jon's perfect measurements translated into perfectly constructed windows which turned into a perfect installation. The new windows were installed in an old 1940's property which had settled over the years. Jon's crew installed each window carefully and trimmed the frame so nicely that the windows not only look good but also open, close and lock easily. They were careful with my tenant's personal items and when they finished up the installation, everything was swept, and left clean and tidy. The noise abatement is already noticeable and I'm tickled to be able to open and close the windows without the threat of a pane shattering. No doubt Jon's Awnings is the place to go. Jon and Connie are really helpful. I decided to put up a retractable awning off my kitchen on a little courtyard. Even though I live an hour away Jon was willing to come down to my place to take measurements and check to be sure everything would work in the space. In fact, I had specified a protective decorative hood for the awning but when Jon saw the space he said I wouldn't need that because the unit was covered by an over hang. Saved me more than a couple hundred bucks. Very honest guy. Connie in the office was super patient with me because I kept dropping by their location to ask questions prior to ordering. On delivery day the crew showed up right on time. The installation technicians, Aldo and Jimmy, were very professional and pleasant. We hired Jon's to make a curtain for our balcony and an awning for our master bedroom window to help with heat from the afternoon sun. We also wanted them to put a curtain on the west end of our pergola so that it's cooler for more of the day but it looked so great and worked so well that we had them make curtains for all four sides.
