Most of the time she used no pressure and just grazed her hands over me, i dont actually know how someone could give a massage that felt so bad no only was it extremely light pressure somehow it was painful. She would be tugging and knocking and all sorts of things to compensate for the no pressure. It also felt like her hands were just going over my body no finger work or skill al. Also both me and my friend felt like the next day we felt worse than before our massage, back/neck pain wise like they used very improper technique The worst part: what completely took me out of spa mode. Sammy who works at the front desk was especially poor in her customer service. ***Just an FYI (as it is not listed anywhere on their website or told over the phone when booking appointments as this is their only method of accepting appointments) the cancellation/ re-booking fee for a 50-minute massage is $100 (the full price of the massage is $125). We arrived 30 mins late to our appointments and they informed us that the massages would have been wrapping up around then so we weren't given the opportunity to squeeze in 20 minutes of a massage and were charged the $200 for the cancellation fee. Again, we understood that this is a small business and that we paid for the time that the masseuse was available, but the staff was extremely rude and unaccommodating. My friend had asked if we could reschedule one of the massages to an available slot that day, at 5pm, as she wanted to make sure I had a nice birthday experience but they informed us that that would also be a $100 charge. Overall to the staff at Well Within, I highly encourage you to post cancellation and re-scheduling fees on your website and update clear policies as I was unable to see any of this in writing. Unfortunately we will not be coming back, though there are a multitude of other wonderful spas in the area. Tea House is one of them!

I get massages pretty regularly (refuge, Monterey plaza etc), and this was one of the best I've had. Adrian had that perfect balance of pressure--strong enough to actually make a difference, but never crossing the line. He checked in a couple times without breaking the flow, and targeted the areas that have been tight. Easily a 10/10 and I'll definitely be booking with him again. As for the facilities, the staff were super welcoming and professional and everything was insanely clean/well maintained. My wife had a massage at the same time and her experience was the same. It's great to have a place in Santa Cruz at this level as I'm over driving to Monterey/Carmel for an amazing massage.
