Called and made an appt, arrived and they had me wait 45 minutes. I only waited because I had an event and needed my nails done. Upon my mani being started, my manicurist kept getting up to inspect other manicurists jobs they were doing for other clients and stepping to help file, shape, etc. bouncing back and forth between me.. and overseeing them. WTFFFF. My mani took about 40 minutes because of that and on top of that, I did not get a bowl of water to soak my hands in to soften my cuticles. I went in to Diva Nails for a dip/SNS manicure as many nail salons in Santa Cruz do not offer this service. I arrived early to my appointment and was greeted right away, and only waited a few minutes before someone came to wrap my nails to remove my current dip. Once my tech (Tracy) was available, she brought me to her station in the back. The music was chill, the World Cup game was on the TV, and it was very relaxing. Tracy did a FANTASTIC job. This was my first manicure after moving to the area, and I was not disappointed! Well-priced, efficient, and high-quality. I will absolutely be returning for my next manicure! read more

First time trying this nail salon and won't be back. I'm going on vacation and needed to get a pedicure. The place was pretty busy so I figured they did a good job, but I was wrong. They cut my toe nails way too short and filed them unevenly, and did a poor job on my cuticles. Then as I was leaving the woman that helped me with my sandals bumped my freshly painted toe nails and messed up the polish on one of them. I looked at her for some kind of expression, but there was nothing. At that point i had to get back to work and I didn't have them redo it. Plus I'm going to have to fix the poor job they did when I get home anyways. What a waste of money! read more

When going back for a refund, they took me to a back room and tried refusing my refund and GRABBED me, so I said do NOT touch me and you'll be giving me my refund. I wanted to like this place as it's so close to home and Whole Foods, but I will never, ever be back. I came in for a gel manicure and the technician used the wrong drill bit on the drummel to remove my gel polish -- definitely not what should ever be used on natural nails! It had big spiked barbs on it and she drilled my natural nail down almost completely to the nail bed to the point that it was painful and starting to hit the nerves. I told her she was drilling too much and she didn't listen. I should have walked out but didn't want to be rude (big mistake) as she drilled deep painful grooves out of my natural nails which will now take months to heal and re-grow. I thought maybe the manicure would be better, so I stayed. It wasn't. It was the clumsiest and worst manicure I've ever had in my life. Nails trimmed with rusty nail clippers, sloppy totally uneven filing (as in, completely diagonal). At one point I wondered if the tech was partially or mostly blind, that's how bad it was. Nail polish all over my fingers and hands. It was truly awful, and I've been getting gel manicures every two weeks for YEARS. It was the worst manicure I've ever had. I wish I'd taken photos at the time, but I was just in shock and didn't think to do it. Forget feeling pampered, the whole experience was uncomfortable, painful, and damaging. I went to my usual place to get the awful polish removed and they couldn't believe how my natural nails had been destroyed. The photo below if after three weeks of healing with daily strengthener and vitamins applied. It's hard to see in the photos but the pink parts of the nail are where there's almost no nail left, it's deep grooves carved out of my nail nearly all the way down to the nail bed. The nail in those areas is so thin that it's sensitive to the touch and I have to wear gloves to cook or clean as it's still painful weeks later. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs! read more

I've been here 4 or 5 times but only last time has been extraordinarily different, hence giving 2 starts instead of 1. Everyone is very friendly and that is probably the only plus of this place. I got gel manicure and the equipment was dirty. It was so dusty and dirty (probably hasn't been washed that day at all) that I asked the lady to stop. In retrospect, I should have just walked out right then. She also tried using a slightly dirty towel which I had to ask her to change. I had gel manicure and the lamps were gross to touch. Definitely will never be going back. I'm glad I didn't catch a disease there. It's the basic requirement to keep a place clean and sanitized since they are working with a lot of people. read more
