Unsure when the facility opened but it looks so nice!!! Parking is $10 - there are nice charter shuttles!! Tickets are free to watch the players practice for 2 hours! If you are able to secure tickets in advance it's worth checking out if you are in the area! They sell merchandise, food, drinks, etc Unfortunately the bathroom situation for the public are portable restrooms (but I heard it was nice) I thought there would be opportunities to chat with the players and get their autographs but they started and ended exactly on time and they did not interact with the people. Maybe you might be lucky to interact with the players!! There were little kids that brought footballs and jerseys/shirts + posters, but unfortunately they didn't get any autographs. Overall a fun experience!

Other NCAA sanction sports use the facility, but it was specifically built with football in mind. When high school recruits are interested in USC, they are brought here to see how recruits are taken care of, from scholastics to athletics. They are shown the tradition and culture of USC Football. The stadium itself is clean, well-organized, and has great seating with clear views of the track. It felt exciting but still relaxed enough to really enjoy the event. Parking and getting in was pretty smooth, and everyone we interacted with was friendly. Clean restrooms are always a plus. We attended LA Track Fest. An opportunity to see world record holders, former Olympians, and some of the fastest runners in the world was a wonderful experience.

There are two seating options: wooden courtside bleachers, and theater style seating above the bleachers. A glass partition separates the two. If you are in the student bleachers, you might be standing the entire game. Sitting in the first few rows of the theater seats is not desirable. People will often spot a friend in the last row of bleachers and stand there to talk, leaning over the glass, obstructing the view of the court. If you purchase seats on the visitor's side of the gym, you probably will not encounter this problem. A concourse with bathrooms, a merchandise cart, and a concession stand is on the west side of the gym. Food and drinks are relatively inexpensive. Alcoholic beverages are not served. The concourse opens up to one end of the court, where you can stand and watch the game very close to the action. Wheelchair spaces are also available in this location. Pepperdine's expressed interest in getting a new gym from time to time, but I hope they do not. I would miss the intimacy that makes sports events at the Firestone Fieldhouse so fun to attend when there's a packed house.

Outdoor fields do not have to be dirty, people!…read more Hollywood Sports Park Combat Center is great. There are concrete floors, and they clean out the bbs mid-day so there aren't injuries. The environment is awesome. They have a Combat Center field, and a Scenario Field, and they alternate play, so if you really wanted to, you can play non-stop. Currently Combat Center has a Middle Eastern/ Arabian theme going full with foreign McD's posters shot full of holes. I hear the Scenario Field has a Mid-West theme going. You get a discount for going early on weekend mornings, or if you are military/ industry. I love playing with real buildings, where you can climb stairs, hide behind abandoned cars, and hide behind curtains. It really adds an element to the gameplay. Even the staging area has vehicles and pipes for a military feel. It's also great how they have enough refs to keep games going, constantly. They are good at having game after game after game. I didn't like how they had Scenario games, in the middle, and closed off Combat Center for half an hour, though. I took a nap during this time. It is also a very woman friendly, and kid friendly park. I love seeing female refs, and clean facilities! Great job on being equal opportunity, and representing all groups! I did not enjoy how around 3:00-4:00 the park started getting really crowded, and they started doing campaigns where buildings were off limit. It's really much too crowded to limit where people can hide. It ruins gameplay. Most recently, I went on a Saturday, and the cheating was incredibly bad. Switching fields did not help, and the refs did not seem to know how to stop it. After a bunch of people left because of how bad the cheating got, the ref closed off all buildings. THIS DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF GOING TO COMBAT CENTER. It became UNPLAYABLE because bands were not calling hits. I had experienced team members, and industry members, and there was only 1-3 people on the other team calling hits. Some of us hit some of their members multiple times in the same game, and those people kept playing, and when we complained to the refs, they told us "oh no, them again?" like they weren't sure what to do about it.

Sadly within the last two years now that is no longer the case. All the good people who made that place what it once was have left, they saw what was coming and knew to get the heck out of dodge. First, under new the leadership of a self proclaimed "Cinderella story" boss, the after school programs at heights park are a complete mess. There are many things that factor into this mess but the main reasons are: he hires his friends, treats staff like children so they act like children, plays favorites, treats facilities as his own personal playground to do whatever he wants, but most of all he is just a bad boss who thinks he's a good one(we've all had those right). Second, the teen center supervisor is less than desirable when it comes to watching over your kids. He is an old leader who returned after quitting years ago cuz he didn't get his way, now he's back and in the position of authority he always longed for. There is a reason he wasn't promoted "back in the day" and it shows now. He can't delegate to save his life, he depends heavily on all the other leaders to do HIS supervisor work(isn't that the responsibility he wanted though?). He is inappropriate with everybody. He is just your classic case of Narcissism, nothing is ever his fault. He got moved up for kissing butt, but is in no way fit for the role he is in. Honestly if the citizens of Manhattan Beach saw the employees who are getting paid from their taxes and how their money is being spent, things would change right quick and in a hurry. I don't write this review in haste, I write it becuz things need to change. It's difficult though when the city works as a system that is easy to get in but is impossible to effect change. So please, if you live here and are thinking of sending your kids to Rec or Teen Center, go down there and see if it's a place you feel comfortable sending your kid. If not, there are tons more specialized after school programs that can support your kid in his/her interests, instead of wasting time doing nothing after school until you pick them up.

I don't give 5 stars lightly, but the Manhattan Beach Teen Center deserves way more than 5 stars…read more I am a researcher and I compared ever camp for my 11 year old in the south bay, and hands down MBTC had the most to offer. It is set up for middle schoolers and is very casual. The doors are open from 10-6 so your kid can drop in whenever. And there are plently of counselors but their capacity is not really a "day care", its more of an opportunity for your child to be independent, but have planned activities accessible. Speaking of activities, MWF- the kids would have water wars, 31ft slip & slides, paint wars, tie dye or pool days. Tuesdays was beach day, so they would ride a bus to the beach and spend the entire day there. Every few Fridays, they would extend the hours, take the kids to a pool and hire a dj, called Discopooloza. But the best part was the Thursday trips, Disney, 2 day camping, Catalina, Big Bear, Raging Waters. I wish I were a tween, not really. I have to give mad props to the camp counselors. There are young and cool and everyone seemed really nice. My son especially liked and will miss Jared! Anyway, finding a program for a middle schooler is difficult, they are too young to stay home and too old for a day care. This program gives them a safe place that they can go with other kids around the same age. There is always something going on and someone new to hang out with. And it was less expensive than several other city teen programs. I love this program so much we work and live in Torrance, but still drove to MB every day. Thank you TEEN CENTER AND COUNSELORS!!! You made my son's summer rock!
