3 hot dogs with ketchup, mustard and relish Fried onion strings
    Heather G.

This place has definitely changed since I was a child, with that said I still find my usual order to fulfill my craving. The hot dogs used to have a better snap and were longer and less thick, however a red dog is a red dog! The perfectly toasted griddled buttered bun with the perfect amount of condiments is something I can always rely on. The onion strings perfectly fried as well. Everyone is so nice and the place continues to be the staple Jordans has always carried. We chose to eat in the car as the weather was turning unsavory. We finished our meal off with a red raspberry soft serve and a strawberry fruited strawberry milkshake. The red raspberry soft serve wasn't very strong in flavor and next time I'd just get a strawberry milkshake, i believe making it fruited made it too strong and almost fake tasting.

    Lobster roll and crinkle fries

Have been coming to Ellsworth for 35 years and had never been to Jordan's Snack Bar. It was time! Family of four, we all got lobster rolls. Nice grilled hotdog roll, classic. Lobster was very fresh but was chopped up quite a bit. I like to see good size chunks of lobster in my lobster roll. Lettuce was useless, don't bother. Onion rings were delicious but very greasy. Crinkle fries were hot and good. Picnic area was well maintained and I could see a play area for young children. Service was from the counter window and was good. Classic snack bar atmosphere. Overall very good for families with little kids. I will likely try another spot before returning.

    Crab roll and fries

My family and I came back to this gem of a restaurant again this year and it was even better than we remembered. The crab rolls are fresh and overflowing with delicious crab meat. Everything we've had here has been amazing. The arcade and playground for the kids is a nice distraction and lets the kids run off their energy. Their staff are so friendly and the owner made the rounds and is also a super nice guy. We will definitely be back!

The fish sandwich was delicious. The fries were hot and crispy. The coleslaw was on the creamy side but excellent.

Our first food stop in Maine. Great fried shrimp, French fries, lobster rolls, and onion rings. Would highly suggest.

    Is it open year round?

Hi Linda - please keep an eye out on our Facebook page. We will decide once we get closer to October. It will depend on if we have enough staffing to support staying open for the winter. More to follow…….…

The place is apparently famous for its pies, and if course, since it is Maine, fir seafood. A lot of the dishes in the menu are market price, which is understandable. The waitress was Megan and she was all smiles and very friendly, and there's a small army of staff working their tuchis off on Sunday, which is when I dropped by. Super generous portions, which seems to be the standard for this region of Maine. I started with the basic Maine dish of seafood chowder. Helen's seafood chowder is a rich, creamy soup that celebrates the fresh flavors of the area. Tender chunks of haddock, clams, shrimp, and scallops are simmered with potatoes, onions, and celery in a white thickish broth seasoned with butter, herbs, and perhaps a touch of black pepper? Every spoonful was hearty, comforting, and filled with the sweet, briny taste of the sea and packed with chunks of seafood. Definitely Maine style comfort food! Once again, I went for the fish and chips and that was a hit! Flaky, fresh Haddock coated in a light, crispy golden batter and fried to perfection. Served alongside hot, hand-cut fries, this classic favorite of mine was (as usual) accompanied by creamy coleslaw, tangy tartar sauce, and a fresh lemon wedge for the perfect finishing touch. Did I mention that the blueberry pie was out of this world? YUM! And they have military and veterans' discount!
