First experience at Jose peppers carry out. We wanted to Support our local restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic. Was told the order would be 15 to 20 minutes it came on time but The server rang up the wrong amount, and instead of going back in and re-ringing the order, she waited on someone who walked up in the parking lot and I waited over 10 minutes for her to re-ring the order while my food sat there and got cold. When she returned and I complained about having cold food she was very snide and snippy and told me she "could get the manager that would be the best she could do for me." she thrust the card holder at me hitting me on the hand as she said this. I left the food with her and was not going to pay $26 for cold food. The whole experience took 35 minutes of sitting in a hot car; I left and made lunch at home. I later called and spoke with the manager, he had me identified the person through the first receipt and he was very gracious I was not expecting anything in return. But I will not be going back to Jose peppers in Belton. I have servers in my family, and this young lady should be happy she has a job. It's hard Times on everyone, but if you're in the service industry you don't smart off to your customers. Belton has other find Mexican restaurants. read more

Great staff! The food is good but I often find that the meat is extremely over-salted. This happens most frequently with any kind of steak and usually with the burgers. read more

For my husband and me, this is our favorite place for Mexican in the KC Area. The management and service is always at 110% at this location and the food is even better. We eat here at least 3 times a month. =) read more

Great food, prompt and friendly service. Since it was our first time, the server took the time to familiarize us with the menu amd made some wonderful suggestions. I love the fish tacos! We always enjoy ourselves when we come to Jose Pepper's. They allow smoking though, which is my only gripe. The idea of smoking and non-smoking sections is stupid since SMOKE FLOATS!!! But other than that, this place is great! read more

Update: This is now our favorite restaurant. We get the free espinaca dip everytime we go (by logging into the Belly machine in the lobby) and always order the stuffed jalepenos which are to die for. I had the shredded chicken enchiladas. They were the bomb and the medium salsa was perfect!

I'm not sure how I missed reviewing this was a Peppers location. It's a real gem here in Belton. Of course you should definitely start out with the espinaca dip which is really really good. There chips and salsa is average I wouldn't say it's great it's not bad but it's not great. I used to really love the shrimp tacos but lately I've really liked the chicken Del Mar which is just so decadent. It has grilled chicken topped with a cream sauce that has crab scallops and shrimp along with some onions and peppers it is so so satisfying and my husband and I either share it or we end up having enough left for lunch the next day. I'm not a drinker but I really like their virgin strawberry daiquiri it's a special treat I get for myself once in awhile. I'm not a huge fan of beans but my friend really loves their charro beans. All in all this is a really good location and usually has great service and the times that I haven't had great service the managers have taken care of things. read more

I'm not sure how this place got so many positive reviews. One of the so-called specials, pollo magnifico was not impressive at all. The fried ice cream had stale cornflakes and was not warm at all by the time it was served to me. It was accompanied by a cinnamon crusted tortilla that also was stale. After waiting at our table for 50min for our order at Applebee's across the street we left and went to Jose Pepper's. Great choice. Drinks within a minute, chips and salsa within another 1-2min, and our meal 15 min later, all while the place was packed. Great service! Great meal! As usual it takes forever to get seated because they have kids running the hostess desk.... waited 35 min because they seat smaller numbered tables and don't want to sit a table of 8! This is why i drive over to Lees Summit to eat! read more

Decent food, close to home for us if we're in the mood for this type of food. Love the chips and salsa, I could fill up on those more than anything else. Mixed experiences, one time I loved the fish tacos, second time not so much. Beef & Cheese Enchiladas are always good. Coconut Chicken Salad is REALLY good. Get pretty good service every time we've gone, manager is usually walking around checking with tables. Busy on weekends, at least a 30 minute wait during peak dinner and some lunch times. read more

This review isn't just because I have family who works here. This is because the food and employees are awesome. Yes at times you might wait longer than you wanted for your waiter/waitress to come back but after everything you realize it's because they treat every customer like they are their only ones. They stay and make sure you feel comfortable and have a complete order and spend just as much time at your table as others. Other waiters and waitress' don't mind filling up your drink or running and getting something for you even if you aren't their table. Three big recomendations I have....steak and goat cheese towers, Jose burger, and if they still have it in Tuesday...hit them up during lunch for their pasta....yes pasta it's amazing. read more

Hostess and waitress began the night by being amiable. That is the end of my positive review. Not a bustling night at the Pepper. My drinks and app arrived promptly. No water was offered or served. Then: 20 minute wait for 2 tacos. Through the entire time, my waitress chatted with another waitress. My dishes stacked up: chip basket, empty drink glasses, salsa bowl, appetizer plate, none were removed until I left the restaurant. Ordered tacos al pastor and corona shrimp tacos. Taste: beyond bland. Like the color grey. I suspect most of their appetizers are bland and the appetizers' main ingredient is salt. Also at the table: 3 drinks, 1 app, and an appetizer to share: $35 and though I complained about the service and the quality of the food, they never seemed to care about their product or service being sub standard. Delicious espinaca. Great service & staff. I initially ordered the enchilada/crispy taco combination w/ pinto beans but did not care for the beans and shredded meat in either item. I told the waiter and he happily let me switch it out for a chicken especiale with black beans, which was delicious. They told me their number one priority was customer satisfaction. I have always loved jose peppers! This location in particular is my favorite. The staff from their front door, to the servers to their food runners are always polite and smiling! We had a large party and called ahead for a reservation which was taken. When we got to Jose Pepper's in Belton, we waited for over half an hour past the reservation time. The manager finally told us that they don't take reservations, only call ahead sitting. He never accepted responsibility and wouldn't make eye contact. And then he gave away the tables that he said he was setting up for us. Luckily, we went to another Mexican restaurant in Raymore where we had good food and good service. read more

Just finished eating here. I'm literally still in the parking lot but I had to write this review as soon as I could. I am from out of town and at first this place looked questionable. I was looking for a Mexican place and stumbled on Joses. The place is nice and clean, I was seated right away because it was just me so I sat at the bar. But there wasn't much of a line and it was pretty packed. The bartender IMMEDIATELY took notice to some leftover dirty plates and removed them quickly so I could sit down. She then asked me if I wanted something to drink. Literally not even 2 mins from walking in. I also received a menu. She very nice and patient and waited until I was ready. She then saw I was going to eat and immediately brought me silverware and napkins. She was constantly checking on me, getting me another drink when needed, and making sure I was alright. I ordered steak fajitas and wasn't too impressed with the plating but it's because I'm used to something different and more authentic. The food was surprisingly good. Really good. The highlight of the dish was the juicy steak strips. The downfall to the plate was the beans and rice - the beans was more like chili and the rice was more like Cajun rice. However I still enjoyed my dinner. They had a full bar equipped with 3 large tvs. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are in the area and hungry for Mexican. The service was OUTSTANDING and the food was great, not authentic but great. I would def come back. read more

I have been dining at Jose Peppers for 9 months and have excellent service and excellent food, I eat there at least 6 times a month. I live 30 miles away and is well worth the drive for lunch or dinner. The wait staff is very good they know the menu and 1 Waitress named Zippy is the best. I used to drive 60 miles to eat Mexican food and have went there for 20 years at least once a week and the wait staff is never the same and the manager never has even said thanks for coming. Jose Peppers staff are friendly and very professional. I would recommend Jose Peppers to any and all that want a great meal at a reasonable price and make you feel appreciated .
