    Blackened chicken.

Friday night arrived around 6pm. No wait for a table for two. Great start! Yes to the espinaca dip and bottomless hot thin crispy chips. Service was awkward. Lots of attention before we ordered and then barely 5 minutes after our food arrived server asked us if there would be anything else and would it be one check? After that no sight of her for a good long while. No refills of chips or drinks. She slid our check on the table with a smile and I had to flag her to come back with a takeout box. I tried the carnitas tacos. The meat was tender and juicy and I was delighted that it wasn't stringy. The two main flavors were onion and cilantro, which thankfully I like. Not impressed with the rice or beans, very standard fare. Blackened chicken (a new addition to the menu) was OK. Glad it came with a little guacamole to add to the dish, it needed a little amping up.

I hadn't been here for a while, but I wanted the chips and dip. The chips and dip didn't disappoint me. The nachos were really good, without meat. I originally had chicken nachos but sent them back because my chicken was dry. I had them replaced without the meat, and I enjoyed them.

I enjoyed the weekday lunch value, the fast service and the themed atmosphere during my dine-in…read morelunch. My build-your-own weekday lunch ($8) included choice of entrée, choice of beans and rice. It was served just ten minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to dig into the complimentary chips and mild (with a little kick), somewhat chunky salsa. The chicken tinga burrito was packed full of moist, white chicken and topped with a very flavorful sauce and cheese. I found the black beans to be pretty good, but the rice was somewhat dry and clumpy. The dining area had a central bar area, unique light fixtures, a mix of booths and tables, Mexican decor, Mexican background music (not too loud), a table-side cart for fresh guacamole and several backdrop spots for photos. I also noticed two rollup garage doors leading to the covered patio area. The food and drink menus included Mexican favorites, taco flights, taquito flights, margarita flights, 88 tequilas, meals for the kiddos and brunch (Sat & Sun 11AM - 2PM). Overall, very nice, especially for the lunch price.

First time in. We were the 1st ones in and wasn't thrilled they sat us at the booth right next to…read morethe waiter stand. That should be last one filled. Waitress was efficient and friendly. We tried the Texas dip. Omg you have to have it. The shrimp and cheesy sauce it was in, will be one of my favs anywhere. Chips and salsa were warm, fresh and very good. We shared a combo platter with a beef taco, chicken tamale and a beef burrito. All were solid. Beans and rice were different but very good. Lastly we did a fun margarita flight. You get to pick four and they were pretty good but a lil $$ when you think about paying that much when the four together likely barely makes a regular size margarita. I'll be returning for the dip alone.
