Bad Doctor...I was poorly attended to, and my son left with trauma, I do not recommend it to anyone

Doctor is gentle and personable. Staff is friendly and office is clean and bright. He was also very good with my elderly mom.

After an extremely bad experience which ended pretty bad (infection) at a nearby local dentist, I finally decided to go Dr Cimino who was referred to me by a friend. My tooth/crown was infected and he took me in between appointment as an emergency and treated my tooth and did a root canal after taking care of the infection. I couldn't have been in better hands, caring, gentle, efficient. And the staff couldnt have been more patient and understanding. The best! Highly recommended! read more

I randomly found Dr. Cimino on Yelp and went to him for a cleaning/check-up because of all the other 5 star reviews. He is a good dentist (if I allow myself the liberty to judge), has lots of experience, and not (as some younger / perhaps less experienced physicians/dentists) an "over-corrector". With an established practice he's not compelled to sell you something you don't need- the quintessential definition of "minimally-invasive". Recommended a $13 mouthguard I could buy on Amazon, told me to floss more, and that was that. Will return and recommended him to my wife!! read more

As someone who had to have a root canal as a preschooler, I have some bad associations with dentist offices. But I'm so happy to have found Dr. Cimino, who is a dentist that I love and trust!! He never makes you feel guilty, even if it's been years (ahem, yes I used to avoid it) since your last visit. As others mentioned he doesn't try to upsell you on things and he does such a great job. Dr. Joseph Cimino is without a doubt the best dentist I have ever visited, and I hope the only dentist I will have to visit until his retirement. I have had a debilitating fear of needles my entire life, and have had countless poor experiences with dentists in the past; This is not the case for Dr. Cimino. His gentleness and patience are evident not only in his demeanor, but in the inimitable quality of his handiwork. My family and I have been seeing him for nearly twenty years, and we have been satisfied with his work after every visit. He refuses to upsell unnecessary procedures, has not once gouged his prices, and will freely point you to competent, affordable dentists in the event that you need a service he doesn't provide. This is all because unlike most dentists, Dr. Cimino is not a cold, clinical businessman -- He is a doctor, and one who clearly takes his patient's care and best interests to heart. You know the feeling you have once you find a good, knowledgeable mechanic you can trust, that's the feeling I had today visiting Dr Ciminio for the first time. A great, no-nonsense kind of guy who has your best interest at heart. Personable, caring and thorough with his exam and cleaning. And I like, and prefer, the old-school approach to cleaning--a lot less messy though with Dr C you can choose either approach. Dr. Cimino's staff were extremely accommodating in getting me (a new patient) in on a Saturday morning to fix a broken tooth. Though the schedule was initially full when I called, they kept me in mind and called several days later when there was a cancellation. Dr. Cimino was kind, warm, and put me at ease. He made sure I wasn't in pain, and was pleasant throughout. He did a great job on my fillings- my tooth is as good as new :) Very pleasant experience all-around. read more

I don't have insurance and have had a lot of issues with my teeth...which sucks. Dr. Cimino and Dr. Huong (the root canal specialist) have both been really wonderful. I am as happy as I could be giving them my money because I truly believe they are doing the best job possible and are not going to tell me I need things done unless they're necessary. I highly recommend them. I don't live in the neighborhood anymore but it's worth going out of the way for a solid trustworthy dentist who makes you feel welcome. I consider myself a connoisseur of dentists. Since I have sensitive teeth and gums, I needed a dentist who can clean my teeth without too much discomfort. Cimino is a master, who is truly talented at his profession. He was careful, considerate and never got impatient. In this day and age, many dentists opt to use the "water pick". I find it to be painful, and it leaves my mouth hurting for at least a day. With Cimino, I barely had any discomfort afterwards, and I felt like he did a very thorough cleaning. Dr.Cimino is a true professional, he is the most honest dentist I've ever been to and will not visit another dentist unless he retires (fingers crossed) he has helped me work with my insurance and out of pocket fees to help me out with the best solution to any dental issues I've had , never had any pain after his work and any work he has done I haven't had any issues with . First dentist experience in New York was wonderful. One being that I live right around the corner from this place, but besides that they still get 5 stars. Dr. Cimino was very kind, talkative, and patient, which I was hoping for. I absolutely hate going to the dentist and have had a history of a root canal and cavities so I always dread it. Dr. Cimino defintely helped ease my anxiety and I feel in good hands with him so far. He didn't try to get me to do unnecessary procedures either. Also, the front desk ladies were nice as well. Great Dentist! I have been to many dentists in my life and I am glad I found Dr. Cimino , he is professional , helpful and friendly . I had root canal done at his office and I was terrified as previous dentist told me my toot will brake if I get root canal done and that I needed a crown as well. This is my front tooth and I was so scared. Dr. Cimino calmed me down saying he will do everything u his power to not brake my toot, and once it was done I couldn't believe how easy and gentle procedure was. He is my dentist from now on. This guy and his staff are the best. He is thorough, kind, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. A consummate professional. The office is state-of-the-art and immaculate. Scheduling with him, though, might takes a little forethought: he is understandably super-busy so think ahead at least a month for cleanings. However, if there is ever an emergency they'll get you in ASAP. I moved to Ditmas Park 4 years ago but still go to him. I wouldn't have it any other way. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Cimino on Thursday January 2nd, 2013 and I have to say this was the best dental experience that I have ever had, and I have been going to the dentist regularly since I was a child, thanks to my moms diligence (at least up until about two years ago when I had two back to back bad experiences with a dentist in Bayside, Queens). Dr. Cimino was extremely gentle, easy going, not in a rush, didn't try to sell me the latest and greatest product such as whitening, etc. and extremely likable. i moved from LA to NYC almost 6 years ago and it has taken me this long to find a great dentist---so glad and relieved to finally have found one. read more

I was having a dental emergency, he took me in right away got straight to the point and I left there feeling the best I have ever felt after leaving a dentist appointment. I recently found out I had a bad tooth infection above a root-canal and instead of just trying to sell me his own service for this he recommended a route with an oral surgeon. I just love dr cimino so much!!! He is just the best. He is very professional, compassionate, Friendly, and REAL!!!! I have been his patient for about 10 years. Sometimes It's hard to make an appointment since he is very popular. But it's worth the wait. (I actually also thought i shouldn't advertise too much because i remember there was a time he stopped taking appointments as he was fully booked but i love him too much not to write a review) He really cares about each patient so he spends enough time with every patient. And i like how he explains every step he does and tells me what he is doing. Actually i used to experience a long wait time often before in the office, but seems like The office got more organized somehow since his office moved to greenpoint). I recently went back to get root canal, i did not feel any pain at all. The only minor pain i had was anesthetic which was nothing. And he never ripps off like other dentists. I am flabbergasted at how smooth, easy and painless MY WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTION was!!! Never in a million years would I have expected it to go that easily (And I certainly would have said, "No freaking way!" to anyone telling me I could get it done with just local anesthesia. Not even any gas. Or even a valium), otherwise I'd not have waited until it was an absolute emergency. At this point, my upper, left wisdom tooth was in horrendous condition: broken, with sharp, jaggedy pieces cutting into my cheek that were causing serious nerve pain (which I thought might be Trigeminal Neuralgia, until I happened to feel around there with my finger and feel the horrible condition that tooth was in). Dr. Cimino is a magician! Every aspect of the visit was perfection. He is super easy to talk to, very patient, very gentle, and funny, too. The whole thing was over before I knew it. I had zero wait time, the office staff is pleasant and helpful, and they followed up to check on me the next day. Now I'm looking forward to finally getting ALL my long-delayed dental work done by Dr. Cimino. read more

I work about a 1/2 mile from this dentist.I had an infection one day and was in need of immediate service. My co worker told me about him and so I called and made an appt. This guy is awesome. If I could give this office a zero starred review I would. I had a 9:30am appt today. I was waiting until 11am!!! When I finally asked the reception attendant if Dr. Cimino was going to see me, I was told he "had to step out" on a personal matter, but that I was free to reschedule for another day. After AN HOUR AND A HALF OF WAITING!!! And NOT ONCE did anyone mention that Dr. Cimino was leaving, or heavily behind schedule, or give any communication whatsoever about the status of my visit. This office was woefully unprofessional, irresponsible toward its patients, and shamelessly unapologetic about the circumstances. I will not visit this office again, and urge others to avoid a similar experience. read more
