Contacted Jose's Locksmith via Yelp for my 80-year old aunty (who lives alone) to fix a malfunctioning deadbolt lock on her condo door. To my surprise, I received a reply within minutes from the owner Jose. He offered to service the lock without an appointment on a Sunday. He arrived early, fixed the lock, and even took the entire handle and locking mechanism apart to make it smoother for my aunty to operate. Condo door handles and locking mechanisms are very different and more complicated than a standard deadbolt lock. Jose is amazing. One of the friendliest, kind heart human beings I've ever met. My mom had used Jose once before and was extremely happy with his performance. And when I needed to have a locksmith change some locks she insisted I call Jose. I texted Jose and within 5 minutes he responded, with when and where. Just the words I want to hear. I explained the job he said no problem he could do it. The next day at 9 am, he showed up on time and ready to go. He finished the job in 30 minutes. Changing 3 door locks and making all the same key. He also changed one of the strikers because it was old and not catching. I had read good reviews about Jose & after posting he was 1 of 3 locksmiths that got right back to me. I was quoted by all 3, $29, $80 (Jose) & $200. It was a few days earlier & I needed to have my locks changed on Sat. Jose said he could do it & to call him on Sat morning to remind him. He got back to me on Sat before I had a chance to contact him. We set up a time for 3pm & he was at our new home 10 min earlier. He changed our 2 locks, had me test the keys & we were getting ready to settle when he mentioned that he usually advises new residents to also change the mailbox key which I meant to mention but had forgotten. The deadbolt for a rental unit popped off. I used the Yelp app to request a quote, it sent out my service request to 4 different vendors. Every other vendor said they would send out a technician for $95-130. Jose was the only vendor in my opinion who actually looked at the pictures to see what was wrong. He asked if we could locate a screw, which the tenant did find on the ground. From there it was as simple as screwing it back in.
