This is a long overdue review that I feel obligated to write. I just want to say choosing Joshua as my wedding photographer is probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. His services are fairly priced, and his photos are stunningly captured. To all the engaged couples out there, Joshua is blunt when it comes to directing you during the shoot. But he does this because he wants you to look your best in the picture. I find his way of directing refreshing. Who wouldn't want to look good in their photos? To the future brides out there, if you want that Korean aesthetic look, Joshua is the perfect photographer. On our wedding day, Joshua gave me and my husband an idea on where to take our photos, and it became the highlight of our wedding. Joshua elevated our wedding photos and made them extraordinary. To this day, I still love looking at my wedding and engagement photos, and my husband I made it a tradition to look at these photos and reminisce together on our wedding anniversary. My husband and I hired Joshua as our photographer for both our engagement shoot and wedding day. His work is beautiful and he is an absolute pleasure to work with. He has the sweetest personality and is very laid back. During our engagement shoot, Joshua was such fun to be around. He kept my husband and I laughing the entire time. Because my husband and I didn't know how to pose, Joshua constantly gave suggestions and helped us with our movements and gestures. Our photos came out wonderful. :) We even got all of our edited photos within 5 days (!!!) of our engagement shoot. We were so pleased with his work. He brought his assistant, who was so sweet and kind, to help with lighting. Before the ceremony, I allocated time for getting ready photos, first look, and wedding party photos. During cocktail hour, Joshua was so patient with my extended family, who requested so many more photos than I originally planned for him. Furthermore, Joshua was incredibly patient with my husband and I during table photos! I wanted to have enough time to talk with all my guests as we made our way around and I saw that Joshua waited patiently until we were ready to move onto the next table. I never felt rushed by him. We received sneak peek photos from our wedding the very next day! They were absolutely beautiful. He captured the most beautiful perspectives, most picturesque backgrounds from our venue, and topped it all off with the most perfect lighting. His photos are always so clean, soft, and romantic. We had the pleasure to work with Joshua for our maternity photoshoot done in Malibu! I contacted him couple months before our shoot to inquire about pricing and his availability and he was very prompt with responding. He directed me to his website where there is an amazing collection of various shoots he's done in the past with different backgrounds. I personally really like the Malibu background so I was happy to pay the additional fee for his travel time :) and it was sure so worth it!!! My husband has done photography as a hobby for many years so he noticed right away Joshua had invested in very impressive equipments, especially the lenses he carry. I wouldn't have known unless my husband told me! On the day of the photoshoot, he texted me to confirm on the time and location of our meeting. We showed up just right on time and Joshua was already there waiting for us :) The photoshoot session went very smoothly as he made us feel very comfortable like an old friend and had us laughing with his jokes to get us to smile naturally for the shoots. I noticed with different photography sessions in the past, good photographers know how to use prompt signals to get you to pose for the perfect shot. Joshua definitely knew how to do this, which helped us out tremendously! Within a week he got back to us with the photos from our maternity photoshoot and it was wayyyyy beyond our expectation, even though I already knew I liked his style of photos. He captured us so naturally with the amazing background he took us. He allowed us to select up to certain number of photos to be touched up for any flaws that we may have missed in our clothing or skin. He also got back to us on the touchup service within a week, and we like that it wasn't overdone. He worked on the photos just enough to soften up our flaws but still keep everything looking natural. His studio is located in "Solair building" . Free parking with a very specific instruction from him. We came a little late so we thought our time for the shoot will be cut off but he extended our period of time. Niceeee! The price is also very reasonable. He was only there for a couple times (every 10 mins as I remember) to fix the light or ankle for your pics then the rest of time, the studio is YOURS! Just pose whatever you like and take pics by yourself as much as you want, and music was on so you can chill feel so comfortable here while taking photo. All of my photos came out very pretty and he sent those out in a couple hours which is very quick! (even on the website said 24 hours hehe). Oh plus, his little dog is so cute running around the studio. I think this is a very very cute studio for everyone to come and have this kind of experience in LA! read more

My family (husband, I, and 2 kids) had an outdoor family photoshoot with Joshua while we were visiting LA for the family vacation. I wanted this photoshoot to be very special because it was the first family photoshoot after my husband came back from deployment. First of all, it is easy to find a photographer that goes from location to location for a photoshoot but it may not be easy to find an actual studio when finding a photographer, but JoshuaK Studio has it all. With plenty of natural and artificial light, so many backdrops, amazing collection of props for every occasion, unique furnitures, "brick walls" to "wooden floors" to "framed walls" and even the balcony space lets you choose from endless options and themes you can have for your photo shoot! Also, for someone who likes being indoors, I take beautiful studio option as a huge plus, because you can really get creative while not sweating and there is no need to deal with melted face and sticky clothes as you would, out in the nature! Secondly, even from just few test shots, I can assure you that you will click with the photographer because Joshua is very pleasant to work with. I don't feel comfortable being in front of a camera, but Joshua guided me thoroughly and patiently to get more flattering shots! We are folks from BC Canada. We love the west coast. We have had the pleasure of Joshua taking pictures for us on two separate occasion. Once in 2017 for our engagement photo and the other in 2019 for a family trip with our little baby girl! The photos turned out very well and we are very happy with his work. Joshua is very easy to work with. He is like a director of a film and guided us along as he capture candid and portrait shots. He was very patient with us especially when we had the little one with us. Joshua was very flexible in terms of adapting to our needs (ie. picking the location and specifying what time of day will have the best lighting for the shots we want, etc.). For post picture services, he was able to edit the most important pictures to make sure we look our best in the scenery we were in. He was very prompt and responsive. What i would recommend is first to have a phone consultation service with him so you can describe what you want. Then go through his website and look at the style of pictures he takes and see if that suits what you have imagined. Given you believe it's a fit, we would 100% recommend using his services because 1) Joshua is a very nice, kind, patient person, 2) he has abilities and skills to capture very nice pictures with the right mood and canvas, and 3) he takes the time to follow up and show care for his client after the sessions to ensure his final product comes out the best it possibly can. Photos are worth a thousand words and I wish I could give more stars. I have a family of 4 and our youngest just turned 100 days (this is a big deal for Asians) so we were referred to Joshua by another professional photographer (that's a big deal to me when other professionals refer you). We have done 100 day photos a couple years earlier for my daughter at studio that is no longer around and had a great experience as well. So, going into this one we already had a pretty high expectation and bar set high. So, first off his location is prime time! In the condos above the metro station on western/wilshire! I drove by often and always wondered what the places looked like inside. Now I know. AWESOME. controlled parking access, receptionist and immaculate waiting lobby. There's a coffee shop, sushi restaurant and some day spa type businesses as well. Next we go inside, it's a converted loft, spacious, open-concept with many different sceneries set up for different photos. The creativity and "DiY'ness" really impressed me and inspired my inner handy man to start up my own home projects ;) Even though we hired him to take photos of my son he began by doing our whole family together. He arranged us and tried several different ways to make us look our best. Oh yes, he is totally Hi tech. Not like picture day in high school. There's a big screen tv connected to his camera so you can see the shot as soon as he snaps them without moving your position. After we took A LOT of family photos he had just me and my daughter take some. Long story shorter, he took time taking photos of my entire family and not just the one kid we hired him to. GREAT SERVICE. OKAY, above and beyond time. My kid is 100 days old. Super cute, super compliant (so far). He gets hungry and we have to pause for a feeding. After feeding of course he falls asleep. Joshua simply let us chill, baby nap and began editing the 100's of shots we already took. We could watch it on that connected tv I mentioned. By the time my son woke up he was already done editing! We finished taking his photos and we packed up, paid the man and went on our way very happy with how the session went. NEXT DAY, We get an email with all of our pictures and THEY ARE AWESOME! I recently had my baby's 1st bday session with Joshua, and I loved everything about it. First, he has a beautiful studio with so many cute props and backgrounds/settings. I didn't have to worry a thing about whether I have enough props for my baby's photoshoot. He has it all!!! And Joshua is very pleasant and easy to work/communicate with.
