I have been taking my small dog to Joy's for years. I have always appreciated their work. When I picked up my dog yesterday, then took her home, I noticed her right leg's skin had been cut through all hair and is now a huge open wound. I took my dog back today to ask them what happened and all the "trimmer" did was laugh and laugh. I don't know if I have ever been so insulted. The owner said nothing (in English that is). Completely irresponsible. If the wound gets infected the bills will add up. We will see. I'm speaking with a lawyer later today. read more

They are patient with my dog who doesn't always do great with nail trims, and I would highly recommend getting baths / trims here because my dog always looks and smells so cute when he comes home from Joy. I took my dog here for a routine grooming and bath on Monday, July 10th and it was the worst decision that I could've made. I chose this groomers because of proximity but I regret not researching more and reading previous reviews. My 4yo Shih Tzu was cut on his penis and testicles. I noticed excessive licking after the appointment but thought he was just trying to get his natural scent back. By Wednesday, the sores started to show and I share the cuts on this genitals and the raw patch on his testicles. No he was not matted and he has been praised for behaving well during these appointments. As a dog owner, we know they move and accidents happen, but to not mention it at pickup is dishonest and irresponsible. I've been up with him all week, he's not sleeping, won't go to the bathroom for the past day or so, and stopped eating and drinking water as he usually would. He's whining constantly and can't walk far without stopping from the irritation. When I called to let them know what happened she told me to bring him back and I refused. He is probably traumatized. I sent pictures and videos and never heard back, so I went in person asking for a refund. I think the only reason she gave it to me was because another customer was in the store and she didn't want him to hear me. She offered me a cone. That's it. This has changed my whole week from a happy dog to a sad one who's crying and confused cause he doesn't understand the sprays to heal him, wearing a cone, and the pain he's experiencing. I DO NOT recommend this grooming service. Please spend the extra money and go to a nice place for a peace of mind and good treatment for your pup. I've spend so much time and money trying to get him some comfort. The energy that you feel as you walk in matches the treatment. Beware. NOTE. HIs styling and wash was good if that part matters to you. I tipped based on appearances and know I know to check for cuts and wounds. read more

Service was not great. I showed up for our 10am appointment and the owner was late, we waited outside until 10:15. I don't think they cared much about professionalism or my dog's cut. I explained and showed the reference photo to the groomer and thought that we had an understanding of a modified schnauzer cut. I showed her the photo below just in case we had a language barrier. The result didn't look anything like the photo. For $70 I guess it wasn't too bad but it's also not what I wanted or what I thought we agreed on. I have been coming to this groomer for a while. The last visit we had last week was horrible ! My dog was dropped off at 12pm and usually it does take about 2 to 3 hours. My dog was there until 6:39 pm. They hurt my poor pup. He was given the wrong hair cut, was skinned shaved in his private area. We noticed a skin rash like if he had razor burn. When we came home I noticed him whining and licking his leg , he literally has been cut. We also noticed he had been licking his private area and his testicles are swollen. I have a 10 year old rescue Australian Shepherd, my request was wash, comb and trim. They SHAVED him to the bone! I absolutely NEVER said shave him!! After more than 2 hours I called in - said they need more time Next call - that there ready Next call from them- actually that's a mistake, a different dog is ready to pick up and they still need time. 3 hours in total.. for something I completely did not ask for. I've been to a lot of different groomers in the past and they mentioned that this is not a bread that needs shaving. I really like the two women who are always there when I drop my lil Pomeranian off. (I'm sorry I don't know anyone's names yet) the lady who runs the desk is always super nice and informative. And the woman who does the grooming always does a great job. My Pom has a lot of hair and loves to get messy outside in the yard; so she's usually big ball of matted hair by the time she gets groomed. But this place cleans her up wonderfully. She's always happy when leaving and let's them pet her so I think they must be pretty gentle during the grooming. No nicks or anything either. The pricing is average for the area, if a little less expensive. I looked at three other places and this one was the most affordable while maintaining a great quality. Showed up without an appointment and had a short wait, but not much communication between owner and worker. I wanted an anal gland expression for my dog but got a nail trim instead. $20 for that. Everyone was very polite but this place is not suited for a large dog. My almost 130 pound dog, with my assistance, was put on the table for a nail trim (should've advocated to do it on the floor but whatever) and then I had to remind the worker that I was here for an anal gland expression (which she seemed shocked about). We processed to lift my heavy dog into a bath that is several feet high. I'm lucky to have a dog who is kind because this whole experience for her (and myself) was stressful. Unfortunately , there was nothing to express and I still got charged full price for that. To have to heavily assist, be given a different treatment, and then not get anything out of an anal gland and still pay full price seems a bit unfair. They are my favorite groomer, they always make my baby look so cute. They know how to do cute cuts that don't wreck the coat. They are always friendly and sweet. Shocked to see some of the poor reviews here as I have never had a problem. Obviously dogs that are not socialized will not do well during a grooming appointment...this is not the groomers fault. Also, they seem to specialize in smaller dogs so just know that. My chi/Pom mix gets a Pomeranian kennel cut and they always do the most amazing job. I have been going here for 14 years and it's ALWAYS been subpar but close and cheap. The new owners were pretty rude about demanding rabies vaccine proof after I had shown up for my appointment, but I chalked it up to a language barrier. Turns out I was FAR too kind. Anyone who is that afraid of being bit has NO BUSINESS taking care of animals. I am guessing if you are halfway decent and discerning with the animals you take, you would not have this problem. Today, I witnessed a small, snarling "bad" dog (groomer's words, not mine) roaming the waiting room when I came to pick up my dogs. As the lady tried to coax it into a cage with shoulder-high gloves and a noose made from a leash, I asked to pay before they let mine out, but they let them out anyway--unleaches, straight into the path of the "angry dog." I started screaming at the other woman to get ahold of them and she grabbed one of my dogs and threw it in the cage the other woman was trying to coax the "angry dog" into and stalked off in a huff. To add to the confusion, they then couldn't locate their leashes and collars. NEVER AGAIN! These people are out of control and are in way over their head. It is just a matter of time until they hurt or kill a dog. And guess what? IT WON"T BE MINE!!! read more

I have bedlington terrier and not many places knows how to groom it in that specific breed cut. My old groomer moved and needed a new groomer. I called Joy's and they were up for challenge. Groomer name Jin did a fine job. No blade mark on my dog skin. It wasn't perfect cut because it was her first time but damn well done. I'm sure if my dog visits few more time, Jin will have it down.
