This place is AMAZING! The first two photos I posted were from the summer time. The second two are from this past weekend. One is considered the summer cut and the other the winter cut. They care about your animals here! They sit down with you when you first get there and make sure you get exactly what you want. If not they recommend a few things that they are experienced in to make it all a great visit. The pricing is decent, the location is surprisingly quite clean, and the staff are super friendly. Update: THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES After my first experience, I never wanted to come back here for a haircut. After my experience yesterday, I'll never be back at all. My boyfriend dropped off my dog for a flea bath yesterday. Her hair had just been cut short a month ago and she was FINALLY starting to look cute again after the crap job they did. My bf wrote down flea bath on the sign in sheet / service chart. 5 hours later (after calling multiple times wondering how it could be possible she wasn't ready in 5 hours when she was just there for a bath!) we pick her up and she's been shaved completely. They charge for a full grooming and my boyfriend just pays it because we've only been there once and he was unfamiliar with the pricing. When she gets home she looks like a completely different dog (and believe it or not, they did an even shittier job on the haircut this time around than the first). I call and speak to the manager / owner and tell her that our dog was given a haircut when we went in for just a bath. They tell me that it was their mistake but since the service had been completed they were unable to refund us the difference. At this point I calmly tell them that we are not paying for a service we didn't ask for, and one that we done poorly at that. She tells me she'll refund us and I come in with my bf's card so they can refund the difference. When I come in the owner refuses to refund us. Tells me that my boyfriend confirmed that they were giving her a haircut and that she didn't care if we never came back. All this over $20. I was (and still am) furious but there was nowhere to go from here. I wasn't very well going to burn the place down. Bottom line: this groomer is horrible on every level. They will provide services you didn't want, do a shit job, and force you to pay for it. The worst customer service experience I've ever had and I hope no one patrons this business. Who knows how they're treating the animals is this is how they run their business. ..................................................................................... Had my bf drop my silky terrier off for a haircut. I armed him with photos and a detailed description of how to cut her hair. nothing crazy just "round face, take off half of the length on body and trim, don't cut off, eyebrows and beard." My bf said he was explaining how he wanted the cut (with photos!) and they just kept repeating "puppy cut? Puppy cut?" Until he finally said yes and then we picked her up.... The haircut is mediocre. Her face is def not round and was left a jagged. They almost completely cut off her beard and eyebrows, which makes me sad. Perhaps it was a language barrier but when I asked my Bf if he had shown them the photos he said yes but that they just weren't listening to him. I just want to say that everyone at Pet Joy are good people. I've been there for years and reading some of the bad reviews is sad. I think some of the people there are misunderstood. There are dogs and cats that don't mind grooming so they come out of the place with a good attitude and some might be afraid because that's just not what they want to do. That's my opinion. My dog Rocky loves everyone there. When he's done he gets all hyper. Never once had he ever came out shivering scared. I love this little neighborhood pet wash salon. We have been bringing our dog for over a year now and they always do a great job. The women there love our dog and always show a lot of affection for him. My little chug is a bundle of nerves and generally its impossible to get him to be groomed but Joy seems to have some sort of magic powers when it comes to calming dogs down. She did a great job of washing, nail clipping and giving him a summer haircut. She is a sweet Korean lady whose English is not perfect but has a lovely way about her. I just picked up my dog and he had a huge bloody gash on his leg. There was no explanation as to what had happened to him. I had been going here for a year without incident but I won't be going here anymore. Luckily my dog is big and and an old guy so he will get over it. But he's definitely upset over whatever happened and hasn't gotten out of bed all day. I will try to attach a photo of his wound. This place is a JOKE. After having a horrible experience at another groomers I decided to give this place a try. Called ahead for an appointment this morning and they said to go ahead and bring my 2 small dogs in around noon. I asked when then would be ready, they said between 3-3:30, which I thought was a little long of a wait in the first place but I ran around for over 3 hours doing errands. Just went in at 3:15 to pick up my dogs and they hadn't even been touched! For over 3 hours they had been locked in a cage without water. I asked for my dogs and ran so far from this place. We had been going to Joy for years. She was wonderful with our 2 pups. She has since left, sadly. We returned once under new management. The prices nearly doubled and their workmanship was truly lacking. One of our pups was (sadly he passed away) a corgi daschund mix. I called beforehand to ask if I could bring my dog in. She replied yes, along with bring him now. I get there, she says she can't take my dog because she already has 3 dogs waiting. This is the second time I've brought my Scottie Kal-El here. Haven't taken him to any other place yet. He's 6 months old. The first time I was there I asked if they knew how to do a Scottie cut. The lady said yes. His cut was almost perfect. They left the kilt or "skirt", they trimmed his eyebrows a bit but they cut his beard. So this time I specifically asked them to not cut his beard or eye brows and give him the Scottie cut. I even showed a picture of how I wanted him to look when it all grows out. They still trimmed his beard and even trimmed his kilt this time. Not sure if it's the language barrier or what. I might try them one more time and be as specific as possible and ask to speak to whom ever is going to be grooming Kal-El. Over all it's a good experience. They are nice, not rude one bit to me and take walk ins. Which is good because I never know which days I have off Til last minute. Other reviews say they leave rashes or cuts. This hasn't happened to mine yet but looking at most other groomers on here, they all have a few reviews where this happens. Not saying it's ok to let that happen but, shit happens. read more

Today was my first visit to Joy Groomer. My standard poodle had not been groomed since before the quarantine. (Her regular groomer is still not open.) she was a MESS. Mrs Young, the owner, had already earned my gratitude months ago-- this same wily poodle slipped out our gate one day and ran down to Glendale Blvd (!!!!!) Mrs Young went out into traffic and brought her to safety--the mark of a caring person. Now I wanted to offer my business to Mrs Young, but who knew how it would turn out? WELL! My poodle is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY cut and groomed. From a total ungroomed woolly mammoth, she is a queen again. I asked for "not the usual poodle cut" and was rewarded with a really subtle "take." It will grow out beautifully. They cleaned her weepy eyes to perfection. BEST OF ALL, when I came to pick her up, she wasn't scared or unhappy. She was playing on the floor with her groomer. I was able to get a same day weekend appointment. And they did an amazing job! My sheltie dog is 55lbs with a long double coat. He came back looking so great, we haven't had a better groom! His back legs are always so matted and they managed to condition and now he is so fluffy. Plus, this small family business is just so sweet and caring. Spend your money here! read more

Well to start off I really like the fact that they accept last min appointments, I called this morning as soon as they opened and she said to bring my dog in when ever I like . I have a 4/5 month old maltipoo he's extremely fluffy and looks like the spitting image of Chewbacca and he was in extreme need for some grooming and brushing his hair out at home just didn't cut it , unfortunately he's still very small and we couldn't get him fully groomed due to the fact that he's still growing out that thick puppy coat but the two lady's working at the time said they can still trim his face hair ,tummy , paws , ears and trim his nails as well, they were extremely sweet and gentle with him , they had no idea I was waiting outside for my dog the entire time I really had nothing else to do lol but regardless I was walking in and even caught one of the groomers playing and taking photos of my pup overall I think they are extremely professional I love the fact that the recommended me not to cut his hair yet even tho that meant they wouldn't make as much for his grooming , I also picked up a cute little addiDOGs sweater for my puppy so the sweater was 15 dollars and the basic grooming was 25 total 40 and my dog came clean And just with the basic I seen a huge difference in my dogs appearance 200000x better than how he looked lol I'll go ahead attach a before and after read more

I've been taking my dog to get groomed here since they opened, and I've always been satisfied with their services :) The owner has great rates and always does a good job. Another thing that I love about this place is that it is very clean and you can see where the dogs are being groomed and put into their own kennel, unlike some places where they take the dogs to another hidden room you cant see. The service there is always pleasant, my yorkie actually runs to the pet groomer when we go in (she never does that), and they always deliver her smelling great with zero cuts or mishaps. Walking distance from home, so it's easy to take my dog for a walk, and then decide to drop her off. I really didn't like the first haircut she gave my doggie, but I gave her no direction. 2nd time, I gave her direction and it ended up great! Sometimes I just drop my dog off for a trim and bath. last year, i was dogsitting this guy's little doggy for him while he was away on business. his dog was like a baby to him (rightfully so). anyway, after a few days she was sorta stinky. because i couldn't get a same day appointment at K9 Loft where i used to take my doggy, i took her here since it was convenient and close. this was a HUGE mistake for the following reasons: * in trimming her nails (which they didn't ask me if i wanted) they knicked two of her cuticles... so she was walking with a limp!!! UGH! * whatever products they used on her coat were weird because aside from making her itchy, it also sorta flaked up a little bit. * i heard them yelling at some other dog really meanly while i was paying for my services. basically, i don't think they know what they're doing. i realize that's a pretty harsh assessment/review, but that's my experience. i wouldn't go back there and strongly recommend planning ahead and/or spending a few extra bucks and going to one of the other dog grooming spots in the area. sidenote: the guy turned out to be a total tool and jerk... but his little pooch didn't deserve that kind of treatment. thankfully he never found out. read more

My pup had been here a couple times and the third time I took her she looked perfectly groomed and everything but as soon as we were on our drive home I noticed she was whining and I looked at her and realized she had a gash of flesh shaved off her bottom. When I went back to claim what they did to her these people looked so clueless and said they didn't know. Clearly they couldn't own up to what they did and I never came back. Horrible place!! If they don't want to receive medium size dogs they should put a sign. I had took my dog here times before this year, they would receive her and charge me $50 but they would always hurt her paw. The last time I went because she really needed a grooming I had actually called before and they said they can receive her I told them she is a samoyed white fluffy dog. when we showed up she straight yelled at me saying that she is too much. I bring my 2 pups in for regular grooming every 4-5 weeks. Groomers are very attentive when I give direction to their cuts, and are so loving with my dogs. Very thorough ear cleaning and they also do full express anal glands. I have never seen a nick, cut, or burn on my pup, and they are brilliantly clean for days after her thorough wash and cut. Just like every groomer, it's a good idea to call ahead to check availability as she does get busy and my girls have had to wait elongated times in kennels, but with a little planning, it's not tough to be in and out! read more
