My sister found this place through Yelp because she loved the Finding Nemo cake they had done for "Ezequiel" (I'll post a photo of ours so you can see the consistency in their designs). We ordered the cake one week before the party and we were on pins and needles about the quality design and actual taste of the cake. As we arrive to pick up the cake- we could see it in their fridge, standing tall and glorious as requested! It's by a Blockbuster's in a mundane strip mall. Even when you walk in the bakery is humdrum, but the cakes are amazing!!!! With a regular sized cake priced from $8-$13, it's definitely a good deal. The thing that makes their cake so special is that the cake is very moist. The cream for the cake is also so fluffy and light as air, I'm amazed customers don't fly away upon first bite. I picked up a half sheet picture cake this morning for a work luncheon and wasn't a bit surprised that the cake disappeared before most of the sandwiches were gone. I have been coming here for many years and I'm always happy with the cakes. Now a lot of my co workers will be ordering from here as well. The prices aren't bad either but it's the fact that the frosting is not too sweet it's whipped cream frosting instead of real sweet or rich frosting. They also have butter cream frosting which I like also but either way they are so moist. You can order online and email the pictures you want sprayed on the cake and they always turn out perfect. I had to move the day up from when I originally ordered it for and then I needed to have it an hour sooner than I told them and they still had it ready. You can't go wrong here. Was looking for a nice cake for my daughters 1st Birthday so I decided to Yelp for some help. First thing I did was look at pictures and Joyce bakery sure did have plenty. Saw that they had the foundant cakes for a very nice looking cake that caught my eye. Second I browsed the reviews to see if the cakes were delicious as they looked and they were acceptable enough. So I took a trip there(I'm in LB) and talked to the guy and he was very helpful. Saw a picture of something similar that I wanted for the cake with some changes and said that yes he can do it. So I told him want kind of cake I wanted, 3 tiers and he said that's for like a 100 people, which I then said whoa!!!! Ok so let's bring it down to maybe just 30 people and he said a 2 tier cake would be doable. Fine so I ordered that, picked red velvet and cream cheese filing from which I was to pick up on the day I needed the cake. So on the day before I was to pick up the cake I needed to make some adjustments from 30 people to 50 people and the color ways of the cake from a red to pink which they were able to accommodate. So the day I picked up the cake I saw that it was beautifully done and was very happy I did pick his bakery. On the birthday party guests all talked about how "cute" the cake was. So the final test, how did it taste???? Just right. The cake was moist and cream filling inside was perfect. Not so sweet but delicious that many of our guest all asked where did we get the cake from. It was a hit and made me glad of serving up a slice of joy to our guest. Amazing cakes at great prices. I recently ordered a number 2 cutout cake that had rainbow sprinkles pressed into the top of it. I went into the shop and described what I wanted to the nice man behind the counter. He gave me a quote that seemed fair and told me that it would be about the size of a 1/2 sheet. When we went to pick up the cake later that week, to my surprise, the cake was almost a full sheet! What a great deal! In addition to that the cake was super moist and flavorful.
