I found this bakery few years ago but just visited 4X since their location is far. Carson is the closest but they don't have much selections, compare to Artesia. My favorites are ube cheese bar, cheese/mocha cupcake and brownies. Their taste brings back memories from childhood. Plenty of parking in Carson as well as in Artesia. Came here because I was near the area, I had to have their empanadas! Chicken and Beef are deeelicious. I also ended up getting a few giant Okoy a customer ordered in front of me.. I air fried it when I got home and it was sooo good, I may crave this from now on. I also grabbed a small ube cake for my friend and she told me it was a delight! The place is clean and feels bigger than the other one I went to. The workers are so friendly and I don't feel rushed. The line did get long, luckily, behind us. The Ensaimada's are so good from this Luisa and Sons Bake Shop! I've been to the Luisa and Sons in Artesia and wasn't a huge fan, but this Norwalk one is great! The Turons are huge, but they're not my favorite. I like the ones from Pampanga's better. The Turons from Luisa are dry and hard on the inside. It's not as crispy either. They have plenty of other goodies here at Luisa, but I think they really shine with their Ensaimada. They have so many Ensaimada flavors, and the most unique being the Salted Egg Ensaimada. I learned about this flavor from a fellow Yelper, Gerry T. - thanks! I LOVED this flavor! If you like salted egg and regular Ensaimada already, you'll like this combination. I like that their Ensaimada is not too sweet and that they mix in some shredded cheese inside. It's perfect to fridge or freeze and microwave to bring it back to its fluffy state to enjoy anytime! The ladies who work here are nice and friendly. The only downside is long wait times to pay. The line wasn't necessarily long the Thursday I came, but it took a very long time for them to ring people up. There were four people ahead of me who didn't have any complicated orders, and it took over 20 minutes! read more

Just the number of times I've been here and the amount of money we've spent up in here, I have to bump this review up to 5 stars. I think I came in four (4) days out of a seven (7) day vacation, I may need an intervention to protect me from Luisa and Sons!! Here's what I notice that I keep coming back for: 1) Ube and macapuno (young coconut) ensaymada. I really like this buttery Ube and coconut combo. 2) the Ube ensaymada. Not as good as the combo but it's also very good. 3) pork asado show pow. The white bun is very fluffy and the stuffing is a good amount so the ratio is correct. They even give you a small container of sauce to go with it. 4) the pork and chicken empanadas. This version is for snacking, they're smaller but equally tasty. 5) the salted egg ensaymada, it's a new comer but I really enjoy this salty and sweet sensation. Once again, the amount of salted egg is appropriate. Thank you to my Cali peeps who ship this to me when I run out. Although I don't have to fight off porch pirates, the squirrels love Ube ensaymadas, so I have to bring that box into the house asap. read more

Our go to Filipino bakeshop when we're in LA area. Lots of assorted Filipino bread/bake delicacies and that's so good that keeps you coming back. We prefer this Norwalk branch since it has more options than the Artesia branch. Stepmom decided to go bring me to Luisa & Son Norwalk location this Sunday October 13 2024. She stocked up on many chicken empanadas and a horde of desserts for a staff meeting: buchi, and ube balls, and ube tarts. I got a caramel cashew bar which was dee luscious!!! The main thing which got me, besides the charm of being inside the bakery, and how clean, neat and organized everything was, is a tall glass display case of the Birhen Maria(s) and the Santo Nino(s). So, prominently displayed are these artifacts of faith, numerous Virgin Mary's and many Christ Child's of Jesus. Well, the food is certainly very good. It must be prayer infused. But it has plenty of parking in front of Stater Bros. A small store but with delicious treats. We love their vegetable lumpia! It's packed with veggies. Their service is okay but horrible during holiday. We placed an order for pickup on Christmas and New Years Day. We did our due diligence of waiting in line to pay for pickup days before pickup. On pickup day, they told us to wait in line, in the credit card lane. We explained it's for pickup that's paid already, they keep saying we have to wait in line. 15 minutes go by, a customer came in for pickup but was able to get their pickup right away, not fair! So I called them out on it, why do I have to wait in line for paid pickup while someone can just walk straight to pickup. Wasted 15 minutes in line when it's not needed. Oh yea, just fyi. Don't bother calling them, they may not pickup especially when their busy. I was in line for 15 minutes, no one bothered picking up the phone. I felt sorry for that 1 customer who has been calling.
