After requesting to place an order for a cake I would need the next day the staff was more than happy to accept my order. Originally, I would have liked to order a carrot cake but those cakes need to be ordered at least a week in advance so that was very much my fault. I ended up going with a classic tres leches cake which tasted wonderful. Miriam was the one to help me out. Bonus points for having the same name ;) Miriam made great detailed questions to make sure the cake was exactly what I wanted it to be referencing off a picture I had showed her as inspiration. From size all the way down to the smallest details, Miriam disclosed information about how certain designs or details I wanted would change the presentation of the cake, and made sure I was delightlfuly satisfied with what would be the result. She broke down every last detail including how the icing would likely stain our mouths and very nicely reassured me that it would rise right off with water swishes. Overall I was incredibly satisfied with the service I was given, and I greatly appreciate how Miriam thought about every question in order to complete my desired vision.

I recently needed a custom cake for an event and came across Joyce Bakery on Yelp. Deciding to give them a try, I visited the bakery without a specific design in mind. The staff was kind enough to let me browse their catalog for inspiration. Although the final cake wasn't an exact match to the one in the catalog, particularly in terms of design and color (design was supposed to be gold, came out as yellow instead), it was close enough. It was a chocolate cake but it lacked the chocolate flavor. The cake's texture was fluffy, but I found it dry. However, I appreciated that the frosting wasn't overly sweet. Their service was commendable--the cake was ready on time, and I had placed the order weeks in advance. The pricing was also reasonable for the customization provided. My only disappointment was the lack of a large box for the cake. I had to transport it in an open box, which didn't seem like the best option. Overall, I'm pleased with my order and would recommend Joyce Bakery to friends and family for their attentive service and customizable options. read more

My sister ordered a cake for my other sister's 50th bday. I won't lie the cakes are done nicely and most of the time they are good or decent. My whole family ate this cake last night and within a few hours everyone started with nausea and diarrhea some with vomit including my 75 year old mother. My sister that ordered the cake call the bakery this morning to let them know about 10 people got sick from the cake and the bakery swore it was not the cake and they were not going to refund for the cake ,because they made about 30 cakes that day and no one else called complaining of food poisoning. My brother claims that the frosting was really sour so Mr. Baker there's your answer recheck your product for expiration dates. Make it right, offer a discount or a refund for ppl missing work today. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but my experience at Joyce Bakery was beyond disappointing. The staff is not friendly at all -- no greeting, no smiles, just an attitude that makes you feel like you're inconveniencing them by even walking in. The vibe is unprofessional from the start. And let's talk about the prices... custom cakes start at $175 and up. For those prices, you'd expect top-notch service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, but you get the exact opposite. There are plenty of other bakeries that offer beautiful cakes and treat their customers with kindness and respect. I won't be coming back. read more

We had a great experience with Joyce Bakery. The wedding cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. The design felt clean and natural, and it fit our style perfectly. Joyce was very thorough and easy to work with from start to finish. We only brought a couple of inspiration photos, and she was able to turn them into something that felt like our own. There are two young men who might be one of the owner's sons and they are both friendly and kind. Like their mother.
