I booked an appointment with Miriam for bridal party glam waves, clip-in extensions, and makeup--clearly stating this was for a black tie wedding I was attending that night. The whole reason I scheduled this service was because I got off a flight from a wedding in Vegas at 7 AM this morning and needed to be camera-ready and on time. When I arrived, no one told me that Miriam doesn't specialize in this type of styling or makeup. They just let her take me back like everything was fine. I showed her a photo of myself with the exact look I wanted. Fast forward 2.5 hours--my hair looked frizzy and windblown, and my makeup hadn't even started. I was told I'd be done in under two hours. I was in tears at the front desk. Thankfully, two kind stylists rushed in to help and tried to salvage what they could in about 30 minutes--I'm truly grateful for their efforts. But still, only 3 of my 9 extensions were put in, and I looked nothing like I asked for. Worse? I was charged $316--full price--for this disaster. For reference, I paid less for my actual wedding hair and makeup, which looked 1000 times better. Because of this, I was also late to the wedding I was trying so hard to make it to in the first place. This experience was not only unprofessional--it was emotionally exhausting and unacceptable. I own a salon myself and would never allow something like this to happen to a client. If you're considering Trendz, do not book online. Call directly. Confirm your stylist is experienced in the service you need, and ask to see examples of their work. I was a little nervous because I had never been there before, and wanted something pretty drastic--a light ash blonde balayage which is reaaally hard to get on dark Asian hair. Plus, my hair had been previously dyed and was a pretty orangey color to start with. So they would have to color-correct that as well. Marwa was super patient with me and answered all my questions. The shop normally closes at 7 pm, but she stayed till around 9:30 pm (!!) to make sure everything looked PERFECT before I went home. She wanted to make sure my hair was lightened enough first, then brushed through it again with darker dye to make sure the transition looked super natural. And she threw in a quick trim in for free! So sweet of her! I felt bad I kept her so late but she really did a great job. My hair came out beautifully and was the perfect pale ashy color that I was looking for. Nobody has ever been able to get my dark, thick hair this light before! Plus all the orange was GONE. It was a miracle! For the cherry on top, when Gabe was giving me instructions on maintenance etc, I said that I'd never heard of a wet brush before. With that, he pulled out a new one from a box, and gave it to me for free! I've never had such great service at a salon before. And the results were beautiful!
