I asked the Gal behind the counter, "By the way, are these rubies real?" The Gal whips out a laser scanner and scanned the stones in front of me -- and showed me on her readout, "Ruby." She scanned the other stones: they showed as "Garnet" and "Diamond." Another jeweler in town told me the stones were fake and offered me $350 for them. The Gal at John's Jeweler's gave me proof -- showed me the readout that the stones are real gemstones. John's Jeweler's is going to do the repair -- because I trust them. However, I want to assure anyone looking for a solid family-run and ethical jeweler that Jeff and Yvonne are the most genuine couple I've ever met.
