Premium Black Pork Soup Dumplings (6 Pics) 黑猪肉小笼包 (6个)

New competition to the Asian landscape at Castro, Downtown, Mountain View. The Signature dish is worth trying - A Whole Live Bass fried & served in a tasty broth of your choice with an assortment of veggies. U do get to customize it, we did the Spicy version. The steamed Black pork soup dumplings are also a good choice. The menu is elaborate with lots of choices. Place is busy, service quick.

We went here at 4pm when it was not busy - a few tables were occupied. Ordering was done by scanning the QR code on the table. We only ordered 3 items and they forgot one of them until I asked about it. Food was okay but the service needed improvement.

The portion for the noodle and stinky tofu intestine pot was pretty big. I enjoyed the beef rice noodle a lot. The broth was very good. The stinky tofu intestine pot was big and it comes with rice; however, it was too salty. We were told this pot size we chose was the portion for 2 ppl, but I feel like we could easily split this between 4 ppl. The XLB was not bad, but pretty average. The free soft serve machine is toward the middle/back of the shop, so if you're sitting in the front area, don't forget to check that out. They don't tell you where the ice cream is - I just happened to see it when I was on the way to the bathroom. Interior was pretty, they did a good job designing the restaurant.

Came on a Wednesday night with a couple friends, and what a hidden gem this place is! The dining experience felt personal and was very good. It wasn't too busy, has a modern look to it; you order by scanning the QR code. We decided on the beef spicy pot, soup dumplings, cucumber salad, and the fish soup. The beef and fish dishes were spicy, had a numbing kick to it, and pairs well with rice. The cucumber salad was refreshing with the minced garlic. The soup dumplings were solid, had a good amount of juice in them and tender skin and meat. As the whole, I would give the food a 4.2/5. Service was excellent, the wait staff were quick and gave us extra rice to pair with the spicy and flavorful dishes. They ended up not charging us for the rice which was very nice of them.

We came around lunchtime, and was seated immediately. Only one or two other parties were seated, so it was pretty quiet. You order via QR code. The interior is nicely decorated with all of the foliage (fake or not!) We were in the mood for not-noodles, so maybe we're not giving the restaurant a fair shake. We ordered the black pork wonton, crab meat dumplings, premium black pork soup dumplings, pan-fried Japanese black pork soup dumplings, and fried & Braised chicken wings. Wonton: Astonishingly bland. Maybe it was simply wontons boiled in water? As a result, neither the wontons nor the soup it came in tasted like much. Both the crab meat dumplings and the pork dumplings were that great, either. The filling was lacking in flavor. They bring out a small tray with ginger and vinegar for these. The pan-fried dumplings were decent, but quite oily. A similar condiments tray was brought out for these. The fried chicken wings were tasty, though! Nicely crispy, and the small dust pile of chili flakes added a nice kick. They give you some plastic gloves (we received 3 gloves between two people). We might come back to try the noodles, though.

This is a Northern China cousin in Castro Street . The inside decorations is very green and you feel like you are sitting inside a bamboo forrest . The menu has many varieties. The best choices are the beef brisket noodle soup or fish noodle soup , marinated pig ear and steamed Xian lun bao . My friend ordered a beef trip dish and it was kind of rubbery and hard to chew . Service was good and dishes came out quickly. For the evening that you don't want to cook , This would be a good option .

Joyous Cuisine recently had its soft opening, so I decided to bring my family to try it out. We ordered several dishes including different types of Xiao Long Bao, dumplings, wontons, noodles, and their signature lamb pot. Everything was tasty and honestly exceeded my expectations for a soft opening. What stood out the most was their service. The server spoke with a gentle voice, refilled our water often, and made us feel very welcome. They also offered free ice cream when you dine in. The ice cream was not the best, but kids might enjoy it. Overall, a great experience and I am giving it five stars mainly because of their excellent service on top of the foods.

Solid spot with a variety of dishes. We had friends in town for a wedding and decided to try out Joyous. Everyone ordered noodles, but I decided to try something different. I went with their Guizhou Sour Soup Fish fillet and it was spicy, flavorful, and filled with fish. They did not skimp out at all on the fish. I feel like this dish is pretty worth and can be shared with two people or saved for two meals. Service was extremely quick with the noodles while my fish took some time but not too bothered by that. The interior is extremely spacious and can fit large parties. If I'm too lazy to cook, I'll definitely order their fish soup to go or try their other soups and dishes!

We saw Joyous cuisine recommended by someone on Tik Tok so we thought to try it for dinner while we're in the area. They have free ice cream if you dine in! :) Our group ordered: Poached Wagyu noodle bowl 4.5/5 (depends on if you like the numbing spice, it might be 5/5 for you). Impressed at first bite and then the flavor kind of went way. Maybe because of the mala lol. It's a big bowl so you should definitely share to try everything the first time. Cold dishes: Cucumber salad 2.5/5 - Cucumber salad needed more flavor. We dipped it with the dumpling vinegar sauce and it helped make the dish a bit better Pig Ear 2.5/5 - Pig Ear was thick. Need some more flavor as well - The crunchy roasted peanuts were a good addition to the dishes though Dumplings: Pan fried Fish roe and meat 4/5 - The size of the dumpling were cute - Perfectly fried and had some soup inside Premium Black pork soup dumplings 5/5 - Love at first bite Service: They were fast and attentive. Has indoor and outdoor seating

I recently checked out this spot for mifen in downtown Mountain View. We came to get the rice noodle soup and I ended up getting the beef shank sliced noodle soup which came with a nice variety of veggies and tofu products but unfortunately the pork bone broth lacked depth. The broth was pretty bland and while the other ingredients added some flavor I felt like the noodles as a whole was missing something. We also shared squid, leek and enoki beef skewers. Out of the 3, the leek was actually my favorite. The squid was pretty good but left uncut and difficult to eat off the skewer. The emoji wrapped in beef was too oily and fatty though and I didn't end up finishing the skewer. The food was just ok and for Mountain View, there are better mifen spots around so I probably wouldn't come back again for the rice noodles.

New place on Castro Street, service was quick for all the food except for the lamb which understandably takes a while to prepare! No line on a Saturday lunch

Another mifen place in downtown Castro! When I first walked in I am amazed by the vibe and decoration. The rice noodles come in actual clay pot, and mine was so hot had to be careful to not burn myself. They also have very good portions and lots of toppings. The flavor is decent, I'd come back again to try their other dishes

Went for soft opening with friends! Aesthetic green, wood, and bamboo theme interior. Plate had a cool woven bamboo design. Polite servers. Fast in bringing out the pork ear and crab xiaolongbao but slow service to bring out the Japanese black pork potstickers. Menu had unique and authentic dishes.

Reservation was easy to make over the phone and you have to preorder duck ahead of time. We also got pan fried buns, bok choy, and mandarin fish. Dishes are expensive but good quality. I read mixed reviews about the duck but I thought it was great - crispy skin and relatively tender/juicy meat. It is the first time I've seen an extra charge for the duck pancake wrappers; it was not a pleasant surprise but at least they were thin and delicious. We opted to have a soup made from the leftover duck and that was delicious. Service was also pretty good; they even packaged the leftovers for us. Highly recommend for a special occasion or to impress friends but too much of a splurge to go to regularly.

Unfortunately, the experience was pretty underwhelming overall. The Peking duck was definitely the highlight of the meal -- crispy skin, flavorful, and probably the only dish I'd genuinely come back for. But everything else missed the mark for me. We ordered the string beans, salted egg corn shrimp, xiao long bao, pork buns, cabbage dry pot, and black pepper beef. Most of the dishes lacked flavor and were noticeably oily. The pork buns were especially disappointing because the dough was overly thick and dense compared to the filling. The biggest letdown was probably the black pepper beef. The meat quality was really poor..a lot of chewy pieces with tendons, and it was hard to enjoy because almost every bite felt tough. Definitely not what I expected from a restaurant with this reputation. Overall, aside from the duck, the food felt heavy, bland, and not very balanced flavor-wise. I really wanted to love this place, but it didn't live up to the expectations for me.

Pork chops were savory with a nice bite. The seasoning was just enough to elevate the rich flavor of the pork. The cabbage side dish had a delicious umami flavor that came from shrimp and the potato side dish was soaked in a soy-based sauce that gave it a strong taste. I was amused by the fact that the potatoes were actually french fries, meaning they are being creative with whatever they have on hand. The results were yummy side dishes, so in a way, it showcases their culinary skills. Rice was fluffy and the pickled mustard greens were a great palate cleanser. Service - 4/5. We decided to try the BBQ Whole Catfish with Vegetables to share, along with sides of rice. **The Experience** The dish came out on a hot pot/plate surrounded by lots of chili, which made for an interesting presentation. The fish itself was pretty good--it was tender and not overcooked. The vegetables that came with it were the highlight, as they were nicely flavored and cooked. The sides of rice were a great addition and helped balance out the richness of the fish. While the fish was cooked well, I found the overall dish lacked a bit of flavor. It had a fair amount of oil but didn't bring enough taste to balance it out. The rice helped, but the dish would have benefited from a bit more seasoning or sauce. Service was fast and efficient. The pricing is reasonable, with the BBQ Whole Catfish dish priced at around $48 for the whole fish. With the rice, it made for a filling meal. While I didn't find the dish to be perfect, I'd like to return and try some of their other offerings in the future.
