My go-to place for deep fried low tide! Best seafood take out in the area! Fish and chips are always good and fresh and their coleslaw is so good my kids love. Po-boys are good but a little light on the shrimp compared to ones I've had in NOLA but still very tasty and satisfy the craving. read more

We stopped by on our way from DC to CT and we're glad we did! The crab cakes, soft shell crabs, and Asian seaweed salad were delicious. If we didn't live 5 hours away, we'd be back every week. This little gem of a place offer steam pots, fresh seafood, weekly specials, and even hot items from their carryout menu (note that there's no dining in and it's only a carry-out type of a place!). The hubs and I were in the area, and we ordered: +Crab Balls - homemade crab balls with mostly all lumps, no filler! These were perfectly fried mini crabcakes that were so addicting! +Beer-Battered Cod - sold by the piece - this was literally one of the best cod I've had! The batter is perfectly golden brown, light, crispy, and the cod itself was super fresh and flaky - YUM! +Macaroni Salad - made in-house daily; it was creamy and the pasta was dressed well +Potato Salad - potatoes were cooked perfectly; this was creamy and everything was dressed well +Coleslaw - also made in-house daily; this was creamy and had a nice tang; perfect with the fried seafood I would have loved to try their to-go steam pots, but we don't live close by; maybe if we had some type of an overnight trip nearby! I needed to come back here to make an important point: After buying grocery-store salmon for months, I purchased salmon from Bay Shore last week. It practically melted in my mouth! Stopped here on a whim while passing through the area and was not disappointed. We got the fried shrimp platter with french fries and coleslaw - everything was great. The shrimp (6) have a very light batter and tasted fresh. The fries were fantastic - hand cut, and not greasy and the coleslaw was tasty - something my husband never enjoys but raved about from here. Best crab cakes on the shore, hands down. So much jumbo lump meat stuffed into them, and almost no filler- if any. They even sell the mixture so that you can make your own at home. My other fav is their tuna salad but they only have it sometimes so you have to ask for it. FYI, this isn't a sit-down restaurant, it's a fish market so it's grab-n-go. read more

Heading down to visit friends in Maryland and wanted a quick bite to eat. Quaint little seafood market set-up for carry out only. The crab cake was spectacular. All meat, seasoned to perfection. Tried their homemade vegetable crab soup made with a very flavorful broth. To finish it off an order of clam strips. Very tasty. Will definitely stop back in on our way back up to New Jersey. We found them through Yelp. The fried fish was pretty good, the soups were good. The crab cakes were pretty good, some of the best. The corn and potato salad were good too. So, why 4 and not 5? The price is a bit high, but the quality is there. Getting the food was a bit slow, they prepare fresh I guess. We would definitely go back. It is nice to see that several people with very few reviews bother to provide such nice reviews. I also slightly resent and I think it does this business (and all) a disservice to not show the distribution of ratings. read more

Stopped on a trip up north. Just off rt 301. Great little place. Staff was very friendly. Service was quick and the food was awesome. I had the fried crab cake sandwich no filler, nicely seasoned. Nice big pieces of crab. My wife had fried shrimp and fries, also very good. Fresh seafood cooked perfect. The place was busy while we were there. Lots of locals. They knew many customers by name. They sell fresh seafood and the case was super organized and everything looked very fresh. Only thing to note is there is no seating it is take out. Don't let that stop you. Hurrah for perfectly fried cod on a fresh baguette-like roll! However to me, "fish and chips" connotes what we Americans call "french fries" rather than the bag o'chips provided. If I'd had more time in Centreville, I'd have definitely gone back to pick up some of the lovely looking raw fish for dinner. O La! This place is so darn cute! It's in this quaint little town that's reminiscent of Mayberry. Bay Shore is a tiny shop on a tiny little street with a couple other shops. It's very clean and decorated in a modern way. The staff are super friendly and most importantly, the food is wonderful. The crab cakes are to die for! But be warned, one will not be enough. The prices are great, especially when compared with quality of the seafood that you get. If you ever cross the bay bridge don't even think about it, just map your way to Bay Shore and thank me later. read more

To be honest, we came across this place by accident, as the other places to eat in the area were closed on Sunday. However, we were not disappointed. I had the shrimp salad wrap and my wife had the crab cake (fried) sandwich. The shrimp salad was very fresh and you could really taste the shrimp. The crab cake was very, very good. The crab cakes I had were as good as any I have ever had, they were delicate, and loosely made with just the right seasoning to accent the local fresh caught crab.
