Cinnamon, warm, delish, takes like a hug from grandma. Service is two thumbs up, right on par. It is a food truck, but we are loving the patio vibe! Love

    Chocolate chip and kolache
    Amanda M.

I am abnormally in love with pancakes. I could eat a version of them with most meals and do not understand why it is so difficult to find decent ones. So, when I learned of JP's through Yelp research, I was stoked! And when I saw the beautifully turquoise beacon of a truck parked at Zilker Park during the holiday festivities, I quite literally squealed like a child and ran gleefully to place my order. The menu is smaller than I had seen online, and pumpkin spice doesn't appeal to me, so I grabbed a chocolate chip pancake in a cup, a kolache pancake, and a cup of hot chocolate. I settled under the holiday lights and dug in. The hot chocolate tasted like everyone else's: previously powdered and perfectly acceptable. The kolache was a large sausage and a pancake/kolache bread batter hybrid rolled thin to look like a pancake with a thin layer of yellow cheese melted in between to glue them together. The bread was pancake adjacent and a little stale. It is served with syrup- no, thank you. Speaking of syrup, i should mention that while I love pancakes, I am very anti processed, maple-flavored goo. Unfortunately, the chocolate chip pancake had that layered in somewhere. I don't know if it was in the batter, the whipped cream, or its own sticky layer (if I had to wager, I'm guessing it was in all of it), but it overwhelmed the dish. I tried to eat it. It was too sticky and filled with saccharine sadness. The pancakes felt soggy, yet the chocolate chips mostly weren't even melted. It was odd. I decided to try to take it all home and give it a whirl the next day when I could give it a better shot or someone else at home would be able to give me a different perspective. I asked the nice people working the truck if they had anything I could use to take the leftover home. They don't do Togo. I sled if I could have another cup with a lid and she said no because it is careful accounting that goes into the cups and she wouldn't sell me an empty cup either, so if I couldn't finish it I should probably just throw it away. It was just so... derisive. So, I feel 3 stars is generous because some people like stale pancakes soaked in sugar. I'm sad I'm still on the hunt for a pancake Mecca on the go. But there are good sit down pancakes in this town! Savory ones, too! (they're just not here)

    Peach!

I love this concept! Warm pancakes and ice cream with toppings! We got a peach flavored one to share and it was all we needed after dinner to end the day happy. Definitely looking forward to coming back to try other flavors. Unfortunately only 3 were available at the time we visited... The bacon boy looked good.. This location is in a food truck park with plenty of options for dinner, pre-dessert, if desired. Also, in the summer they have misters to help cool the seating area off, which was a relief. Overall highly recommended for a dessert that's slightly different from the usual.

JP's Pancake Company is located in a circle of food trucks and that truly makes the experience. The staff are UT students so that was great to see. My friend and I split the Hayley and absolutely loved how the dessert wasn't overly sweet and balanced out. They were also giving out free hot chocolate that day which was a bonus- definitely would recommend!

It's a late night dessert place. They only open at night so it's called pancake company but let's be clear it's not made for breakfast. For three small pieces of pancakes, it's a bit pricy. In terms of taste, pick anything with white chocolate pancakes, they are so tasty. They have build your own options. I just picked a menu item, then changed one ingredient. I think it's a good way to avoid weird combinations but still try to appeal to my taste. People working there are super friendly. They were actually training one lady, so I got my order a bit slow. But I watched the entire procedure preparing my order. It was fun!

    Velvety goodness!

Today I got the opportunity to have some of JPs pancakes! The owner and operator of the truck makes the pancakes from scratch. I ordered three items from the truck which were the Texas Bowl, White Chocolate Chip Raspberry pancakes and the Red Velvet pancakes (all at $6.00 each). The White Chocolate Chip Raspberry pancakes were sweet with hints of tart raspberry. This pancake serves well as a dessert. The Red Velvet pancakes tasted as the name states. The Red Velvet was moist and simply melted into itself. The Texas bowl was more of a breakfast scramble. It had bacon, eggs, potatoes and cheese mixed tightly into a cup. This was by far the most filling of the three ordered. The wait for the orders were well worth it. This truck is a must try!

One of the most unique and best tasting desserts I've ever had. Absolutely loved it. A bit on the pricier side for the amount, but understandable.

This how they used to be, but not anymore!
    maria m.

Used to be so good with a big variety of things to choose from but now it's a limited menu, and the options aren't good. I was excited to come back after they've been closed for a month, because I used to come here every weekend but now I'm definitely not going to be returning until things get back to how they used to. When you start a business with something that caused it to become so big, don't change it, simple as that.

Late night cravings? Dessert after dinner? What's better than pancakes in a cup? My sister and I took a drive towards UT and decided to stop and grab some pancakes! I made my own with PB, bananas, and caramel. It was delicious!

    The bacon boy

Thankfully got a pic before finishing it 30 seconds later! The bacon boy was incredible and i can't speak highly enough of the quality of the ingredients and pancakes! Ordered over the phone and picked up shortly after. Another friend got a BYOB and it looked amazing. Highly recommend in the west campus area!

Pure awesomeness!! Drove by the location on Hwy71 and did a quick U Turn to check out the eye catching blue trailer. Each in my family ordered a different cup- I had the Sunday morning, my wife had the 2Pak, and my daughter had the Keyshia Cole. Each was was an explosion of flavor and sweet, sticky, goodness. I added bacon to my cup and the salty really set off the sweet. Their staff was courteous, polite, and all around helpful. Now that we know that it is here, it will be a regular stop when we are in the area. I highly recommend this place- it was a great experience.

I ordered the The Classic - white chocolate chip pancakes, raspberry syrup, raspberries, and I substituted the whipped cream with Nutella because I'm not a fan on whipped cream. It was delicious, and SUPER sweet! They make the food to order, so it does take a little bit, but you can definitely taste the difference. The syrup is really unique and doesn't taste store-bought, and the pancakes were very fluffy and sweet with the white chocolate chips in there (the chips were abundant!). It was great with the Nutella as well. The cup is pretty pricey, which is why I'm not giving four stars. You can get 2 large pancakes for just a little more money at Kerbey Lane, but if you're really craving some specialized, gourmet, sweeter & and more delicate treat with a nice, cute and outdoor atmosphere, then come here. It's not shareable because you can gobble this up quickly!

Super tasty treat. The staff is nice and the sweets are delicious!! I had no idea this truck existed but I will definitely be coming back. I loved it!

But I enjoy new experiences and menus with eclectic dishes. The menu had few choices for breakfast and I was unsure why it was suggested as a breakfast place. It's actually a good place to eat any time of day! The beautifully decorated patio provided the perfect welcome into their modestly decorated air conditioned restaurant and bar. When I say bar, it's more like a 1950s bar that you can sit at and have a meal at. Although drinks and meals were offered any time of day! The waitress was pleasant and helpful in suggesting add ons with my meal. But being a purist, I wanted to try it as intended. The food arrived in the normal amount of time. When I first saw my mozzarella omelette I was a little surprised! It didn't look anything like what it was described as! Oh well! I thought. Let's give it a try! My taste buds were happily amazed! Could this omelette smothered in mushroom gravy, green "pesto" and bread crumbs be the best omelette I've ever had?! The mushroom tomato gravy was so smooth! Along with the cilantro avocado topping. That tasted more like pesto, gave it the perfect zing! I had wished I the had ordered some toast to dip in the sauce. I could have done without the bread crumbs. But they were easily swept to the side. The amount of mozzarella cheese in this omelette led me to believe it was more of an omelette lasagna than a plain old omelette. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Austin!

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.
