Who doesn't love a candy shop? Seriously. This place transports me back to my childhood with all my…read morefavorite treats. If I want to go back to my middle school days then I grab a handful of Airheads. High school was nothing but Twix. Just looking at the glorious wall of candies gives me diabetes, but it also reminds me of much happier and carefree times. When you're feeling a little more sophisticated with your sweet tooth then snag a freshly baked brownie or delicious smoothie. When savory tickles your taste buds then a homemade empanada is the right move. For the truly decadent, FRIED OREOS. Do I need to say more? This little shop will make your mouth happy no matter what mood you're in and I love having a spot like this around the corner. Now I'm off to the gym so I can work off the Snickers I just ate.

I love this place. As a kid, I had way too much candy in my diet and no matter how much my parents…read moretried to get me to eat fruit my grandfather would always sneak me a few bucks to walk to the corner store and buy a treat. That was in the early 80's. Today, a treat can be more of an expensive endeavor. Even something as simple as a milk shake. Vanessa, the owner of this shop, understands that kids sometimes need a sweet as an outlet from the real world. And the sweets here are plentiful and extremely inexpensive. I can easily come in and find a snack that is not commonly available for a quarter and get my daughter's a simple frozen treat also for a quarter...! Virtually every treat is under a dollar and even her home made snacks are in the same range. Vanessa makes cupcakes, brownies, milk shakes, smoothies, even fried oreos. She has a ton of variety and she always take the time to chat with my kids. Whom love coming to see her for whatever treat they are getting for the week. She is within walking distance of the train and I am not sure I've ever seen shakes and smoothies, naturally made with real ingredients and real fruit and veggies for $3-4. That is just foreign to me. I'm used to prices in the $10-12 for those types of drinks. $6-7 for shakes. This is going to be our stop this summer for all of our random treats. If you have never been and you are in the areas of Rutherford, Lyndhurst, Orange, Ironbound, Kearny, Clifton, Bloomfield, and places within range of those it's only a few minutes drive. I'm glad my buddy, Gabriel, was able to get this place listed on Yelp. She deserves to see her store get a ton of great reviews.

I brought my niece and nephew here and they were enjoying it as much as I was. The service is top notch. A helpful smile and guidance for any of my candy questions. It's fun and bright inside. They also carry a lot of different candies and snacks that you probably can't find anywhere else. They had German Haribo, and I bought the yogurt flavor -- it was really good! We ended up purchasing a bunch of random new things we've never seen before, like Yoohoo chocolate and Sriracha chocolate. I actually liked the Yoohoo one a lot, probably one of my favorites. The Sriracha chocolate does have a spicy kick, but just a little. I'd suggest getting a less dark chocolate version if you can't really handle the bitterness of 70% dark chocolate. It is pretty pricey here, but honestly I understand why since they carry a lot of imported and unique stuff. Also, their tote bag is super cheap -- I think just a few cents more and you can get one. Definitely worth buying since you also get a cute souvenir for your trip.
