Very disappointing experience. Our group was refused patio seating even though the patio was about 90% empty, with only two tables occupied, and it was only 4:50 p.m. on a Friday. Before everyone arrived, I went in to ask if we could be accommodated. The first hostess said yes, as long as we split into two separate tables. Five minutes later when everyone arrived, another hostess refused to seat us, saying they couldn't accommodate relatively large groups on weekends. We explained that we were happy to split into two or three separate tables, with no more than 3-4 people at each table, and that no tables needed to be rearranged. The answer was still no. The biggest issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was handled. The hostess rolled her eyes and treated us with a surprising lack of professionalism and respect. If this was truly the restaurant's policy, it should have been communicated consistently from the start and by all staff to all the other customers too. Our group has been dining together at restaurants around the area almost every day over the past few weeks, and we've never been treated this way anywhere else. It is a large restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order. We sat inside and the vibe was very pleasant. We got the calamari to start. It was flash fried and came with marinara sauce. I got the chicken parmigiana with a side pasta and my wife got spaghetti and meat balls. The sauce was light and very flavorful. Very good meal. We had a solid time at Pascolo Ristorante. Grabbed a last minute reservation off Resy and got a table for the evening which was great when we showed up there was a hour plus wait. We started with some Pinot Grigio it was okay for a house wine. Garlic bread came next, this was the star of the show for the evening. Simple yet bursting with flavor a real hit. I had the pappardelle salsiccia which had a solid white sauce. Noodles are all made in house daily which is nice they were cooked properly. The dish just didn't pop. Not sure what it was missing but something. It was good but not great. Kinda the theme besides the bread things were average to good but nothing else stood out. My wife had the gnocchi sorrentina said it was just okay and I agreed. We also got the alla vodka pizza and it again was okay but not great. Service was just okay waiter gave a big spiel to the table after he helped us about the menu and all the things but for us just said pasta is made in house and they don't have any specials haha so that was odd. We needed a good carb load before the Vermont 1/2 Marathon and we chose Pascolo's. Our server was were lively and super nice. It sucked that you had to pay for table bread. It was good tho, nice garlic taste and covered with cheese. We also started with the Caesar salad which was really good. There were 5 of us and we split 2. Lots of cheese, the croutons tasted homemade, and the dressing was tasty. For my entree I got the vodka pasta and added chicken. I honestly was disappointed in the vodka sauce, it didn't have much flavor. I also thought the portion was small, if I didn't add the chicken I still would've been hungry after finishing. Went to Pascolo Ristorante for dinner during our trip and had a really lovely experience. We made a reservation for two online, which was super easy, and when we arrived, they were able to seat us a bit earlier than our scheduled time. I went for their house-made unsweetened iced tea and it was exactly what I needed on such a warm evening. It had a clean taste and was served cold, which really hit the spot. To start, we shared the arugula salad. It was light and fresh with a peppery kick, and the ingredients tasted high quality. For our main course, we split the Roma pizza. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were flavorful without being overwhelming. It was more than enough for the two of us and left us both satisfied. We had an amazing client dinner here on Tuesday night. Zoe was an amazing server, and took great care of us. She recommended wines and entrees with expertise. The interior decor is absolutely gorgeous, and such a nice place to bring clients. For appetizers we tried the insalata caprese, garlic parmesan bread, and castelvetrano olives. These are the first olives I have ever tried and liked. We did not get the fried ones, we tried the ones with olive oil, sea salt. For main entrees we got a variety of dishes including chicken marsala, chicken parmesan, the gnocchi, and the brosato de manzo. Everything was cooked perfectly with delicious sauces, and the creamy polenta was amazing! Pascolo ristorante came highly recommended to us, and I can see why. Trip to Vermont to see fall colors. Very busy time of year, early October, which explains how hard it was to get a table at this restaurant. Third attempt got us seats at the bar. Wait staff was very nice but we were both underwhelmed at our entree choices. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Said the meatballs were excellent but way too much sauce. I ordered Chix Marsala, a favorite, with broccolini. I'm very familiar with how it should taste, and this was strange. The sauce was not familiar but the chicken was tender, the broccolini was undercooked and tough. For $100 dinner, we were both disappointed. Our server, Elias was very friendly, helpful and just a great person to interact with. My wife and I split a starter Cesar salad which may had been the best salad I've had in a long time. Cute Italian restaurant in downtown Burlington. The inside is very pretty with a large bar and lots of side rooms and lots of tables. It looks like they open doors for the summer so they have lots of outside seating. We were there for NYE dinner and it was very busy but the service was very slow. They were super nice but it took her a while to come to us and bring drinks. We ordered mushroom homemade pasta, a ceaser salad and the steak with polenta. All the food was really good but the temperature of the food and steak were lukewarm. If the food was hotter it would have been way better. Overall though it was really good and a great experience. We had a delightful dinner here while visiting our grandchild in college at UVM. This was our best dinner of the week. A gem of a find on Church Street lined with fast food sub-casual dining great for students. But overall the choice of a white table cloth resturant is very limited which is probably what to expect in a collge town. The setting is definitly old school. This historic building was once a Trust Bank (look it up if you don't know what that was). The first thing that strikes you is the warm wood decor. The 12' high ceiling does cause some echo and noise but overall it is bearable. There is also a patio seating area with heaters and garage doors to ward off the cold. We sat there on a lovely Fall evening when the temperatures with the heaters was just right. The second thing that hits you is the refined and limited menu. When I see a menu of 500 dishes I know right away I can expect average or below average food. But if the menu is focused then typically the food is good. Pascola did not let me down. The rigatoni pasta was perfectly done and the vodka sauce had a perfect tang. The dish temperature was exellent and proved that the kitchen and server were on the ball. Kudos for that. My wife's mushroom dish and grandaughters mussels were equally hot and tasteful. A very ice Pino-like Itailan wine made the meal perfrect. Thanks again for a great evening. Three dinners plus two salads plus two glasses of wine was $165 including tip. Well worth the price. read more

My girlfriend and I came here for dinner on our first night of our Burlington get away. We were able to be seated right away which was amazing and sat in an outdoors area that had an awning and heaters. It was a great spot as we got to people watch on church street as we ate our meal. We got garlic bread to start, a glass of wine each and then I was to hungry after our day of shopping to remember to take a picture of our entree but that was amazing as well. At the end of the night we decided we needed a sweet treat so we got the tiramisu, which was absolutely amazing as well. I had dinner here with my daughter after a long day of college tours. We didn't have a reservation and were quoted a 45 minute wait, but they were able to get us seated in about 25 minutes. Our server was wonderful...attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, and our food was fantastic. If it looks like rain opt for inside. That canope leaks so we got wet and so did our food. We had to be moved inside but they were accommodating to us.
